I'm sorry but I really think that JEDI skill points should be seperate from the normal professions, I mean jedi's were general in the clone wars, you mean to tell me that obi wan never picked up a rifle???

and while i'm at it, didn't he wear clone armor too?

just 2 cents of mine

Obi-wan wore clone armor and proved himself a worthy General in the Clone Wars. I really like the idea, having both Jedi Skill points and normal skill points. That would be extremely interesting game play. This concept would certainly offer some potencial solutions to the snare debates.

gather all possible information before making a decision. understand the motivations and desires of others without becoming emotionally involved. do everything possible to keep innocent civilians from being in danger. recognize chaos but not become a part of it. always be willing to lend a helping hand whenever possible. always display respect and dignity when interacting with others. put aside personal feelings when aiding someone they might not find appealing. remain calm in the face of emotion. always strive for understanding rather than blind faith. be prepared to undertake that which others will not. be equally a public servant and a public defender. be willing to put himself in danger in order to do what is right. be an able and courageous warrior. do whatever is possible to protect the natural order of the universe. understand that there are times when a greater good outweighs a lesser evil.

This probably wouldn't be a bad idea, now that Jedi skills don't necessarily give you an advantage over normal players anymore, it really wouldn't be that big a deal.

All they would have to do is dramatically increase the risk for jedi death again, because now, you could concievably play the game with your favorite toon without being on the terminals because you have other skills to fall back on. You could also roleplay the 'Jedi in hiding role' much more effectively.

Imagine the great succesful chef who, 'gasp', no one ever knew was a Jedi! Then all of the Ludicrous statements you hear on the forums ATM Like 'If you don't want to get hunted, stay off the terms!' would actually have some merit.

not a bad idea.... but in SOE's eyes... this is not really star wars... this is just a game that kind of resembles star wars... a long, long time ago...

thats exactly what i'm talking about, poor little luke skywalker only knew kenobi as a general during the clone wars, no one knew he was a jedi!!!!

I just think it'd begreat to be fighting in my commando suit of armor, using a Plasma Flamer, and having a bh come up and scratch his head!!

Plus it would add a new dynamic, in this story line, borked as it is, any jedi that were left, were in hiding, living their lives, not sitting around holding they're lightsabers saying "wow i wish i could do something else"

besides i still think it's really lame that jedi can't wear armor anymore

i definately agree. ive always thought there should be different skill point pools available. i could forsee2 skill point pools. 3 when you unlock jedi.

1. Skill points for non-combat. This pool would be big enough to master artisan and master chef or master entertainer and master imagine designer. or any combination of the other non-combat professions.

2. Skill points for combat. As it is currently. Enough skill points to master 2 elite combat professions

3. Once you unlock Jedi: Skill points for Jedi skills.

However i would definately say that, hypothetically speaking, if this was to happen Defense and attack modifers of non-jedi skills should not stack with jedi skills. Adding the 3 different skill points would also eliminate the need for an alt when you unlock jedi. However the alt could just be a perk for spending the time to grind jedi in the first place.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.

i definetely agree that non-combat professions should be a seperate template to combat professions. kind of like EQ2 would be nice where there is experience and lvls for tradeskills and experience and lvls for combat
