Thread: Serious question regarding publish 24

Ok maybe it was me. Last night I could onlu use heal and arour (?) with sword equiped. Error message came up 3 different times when I attempted to use any Jedi Power with sword equiped. Maybe I can not use a ranged attack while holding a melee weapon? I could before. I will try again tonight. Has anyone els had this problem? Might be a powers problem only.

totally understandable. i was just wondering why it seems so much worse today than usual.



and thanks everyone for the good responses. i do not have a Jedi toon, but someone mentioned to me about the big backlash here, and so i wanted to find out exactly what is going on here.

* the snare situation


* inability for powers/enhancer users to use offensive attacks while having a 'normal' ranged/melee weapon equipped


* the current use or mis-use some argue, of sl with their 'revamp' ...not isolated to jedi or bh either.


* some sl abilities reported as bugged, as well as icons not in place


* additional or revisited space bugs including the Y8


* POB part creation


* Rancor Aid experimentation/bio additive issues


* More entertainer/artisan class bugs


* broken abilities such as aura, general ranged defense


* known, reported, and acknowledged issues from TC and/or Beta pushed through to live


* many players upset with the silence from soe, as well as additions/fixes/etc. that were not listed in patch notes


* high level NPC AI issues...many professions, situations, and opinions



that's some highlights. sure every patch has seen some big bumps. i think the fact that the bumps get bigger each time and that this time so many different things need to be addressed, is what have a lot of people up in arms. Some reactions, agreed, way over the top. The source formost frustration though, is undeniably clear, and appliesto many many professions in the whole game.


frustration run amuck. i imagine someone will post OMG! or Cry Noob after this post. As per Jedi thread requirement.


A class is only as strong as it's community, imo

then that's the issue that needs addressed in all of the Root/Snare problem. a template like that shouldn't be possible. the cooldown timers for the snare and root should be lengthened in such a way that there's time between them before they can be re-used. even if it's just like a 5 second delay, that's enough time to either get in closer or run away.


and that new Rancor-Aid drink, is that meant to help protect you from Roots/Snares?

that only works against one of the cm snares, not the other ranged snares/roots. And your absolutely correct with the comment about the cooldown timers. People have been saying that since this was introduced on the tc, yet the devs in all their wisdom didn't bother to do anything about it.

Another thing that sucks is that 3 quenkers perma rooted me and did 300+dmg a second and killed me in less than 10 seconds. Seems balanced doesn't it?

Rancor Aid cancels +root+ and +snare+



Umm yeah lot sof stuff broke atm


and .... your not suppose to be able to use Jedi powers with any other weapons.... only bare hands and Lights saber...if anything they fixed a bug/exploit...


but it was always stated that your not suppose to use any Jedi stuff with non jedi weapons and/or armor


of all the other stuff wrong someone is mad they can't use a nonjedi weapons....sheesh.. /shake head sadly

and i will add one thing that might not be well received here.


i do think that Roots/Snares should counteract ForceRun/BurstRun. If i am trying to run REALLY fast, and someone shoots me in the kneecap, i should'nt be able to continue running really fast. that part i do agree with, but the ability to constantly keep someone rooted/snared just seems almost like greiving, as it's basically preventing you from ever moving until they decide to allow you to move again.

Whew...that's a relief. I too haven't been able to get on yet to see the Pub 24 carnage/circus. But I don't carry my LS out all the time cuzI like to role-play.

And in regards to the "perma-snare"...I have a MBH/MCM that I use as my loot monkey...and it's easy to run up to something...KD and drop ED before they get up and be back out of range. If you wanna get fancy...some MCM's will use paralyze. That's quite effective as well, but I like to use it as an offensive weapon so I can paralyze the Jedi when his health is low and before he fires off a heal...so that DoTs and my carb attack will pretty much finish them off when the paralyze breaks. Even before the new snare rules were in place...I was snaring all Jedi marks with ED for 2 min...the only Jedi that gave me probs were the ones with force wave and FR1. Other than that..I could snare and not betouched. The snare rules with Pub 24 are gonna hurt anyone without and snare or root of their own.

actually there is a really easy fix to all of the snare root problems....


just like concussion shot...make them break if they toss any attack on top of a snare or root...


in game system.... simple fix.... stops all the anger.... stops a badly un-balance in game


pretty easy ...sure you can indefinatly root or snare...as long as you don't do any other damage


either that or just remove all snare and roots


and bring back Dizzy/KD

Thanks for all the info guys, but i've got to run, so take care, and i really hope that the issues get addressed swiftly, especially the ability to perma snare/root due to cooldown timers.
