Id even be happy with just a dual wield animation taht used 1 handed abilities. It could require the same amount of resorces and count as one item...would be cool

here's how it should work

LIGHTSABER DISCIPLINE

1st Branch - Dual Wielding - Best Speed/Decent Block/Lower Dmg

2nd Branch - Single Saber (1 or 2 handed -difference in Animation only) - Best Block/Decent Dmg/Lower Speed

3rd Branch - Double Bladed - Best Damage/Decent Block/Lower Speed

4th Branch - Tech line - Pretty much same as it is.

Meh, I'm no brilliant planner but it'd be cool

something that is earnt. A quest at MLS sounds like the way to do it. Make it hard, make it so the dual wielders deserve to be doign it. Putting the Cert at MLs soundsright as a Master of the Lightsaber discipline would know how to wouldnt they

something like this:

LS could/would be:

Novice Lightsaber

Column1: 1-Handed LS

Column2: 2-Handed LS

Column 3: Double-Bladed LS

Column 4: (Instead of LS Technique) it could/would be Dual Wield, and from Tier 1 - Tier 4, the Jedi Learns the "Ends and Outs" of Dual Wielding..... or something along those lines

Lightsaber Master (Can begin a quest that would "Grant" the ability wield 2 Lightsabers at the same time....

What i mean is that from Tier 1 - 4 of theDual Wield Column, the Jedi would gain "Knowledge"for the Ability to Dual Wield, that way, if those who want to Dual Wield can take the quest, if those who don't won't have to, unless they fill like it...

Something like that

if you wish to do it with each having specific stats.. to be honest dual wielding apart from having the best speed would also have the best block, since you are blocking with 2 sabers at the same time hence each saber could be blocking a diferent attack hence a double block than normal.

in any case i think that the choice of saber that the player chooses should not gimp or enhance your dmg/speed/block in any way.. if not we would be abcl to everyone with the same kind of sabers because they deal more dmg.. and everyone with double-bladed like it was pre-cu, i think we have enough of "must" use items because they enhance us and we not use the ones that we might really want to use because we would be gimped.. hence we all look the same in the battlefield... 2 colors to choose for sabers... clothing we are all either wearing robes or BE clothing which might as well be the robes since we all look the same.. maybe a change in color but thats about it.

on the OP request.. i do think it should be quest based and as someone mentioned the pre-req should be MLS. it would have to be a heck of a dificult quest if it will actually give you an advantage in the battlefield so trully only a master of his LS would have it, but then again i would have no problem with it if was just for looks, but still be a nice hard quest.

but yeah i would love to be able to dual wield.

Dual wiled should be balanced so there's a pro\con for doing it.

Perhaps poorer blocking but more damage?

A rollback is coming, perhaps. We can't be sure, and the mods totally deny it, but IMO, that makes it all the more likely. Hang in there, it could come at any moment... All we've worked for may soon come to fruition...

- I support keeping & balancing the original Pre-CU combat system
- I support not buying ToOW...and I was right about it
- I support anyone who stands against the implementation of the NGE
- I support being able to make jokes about Julio Torres.

I think duel weilding is a great idea, and one they're most likely considering. but to be honest and fair, it will be something that won't be exclusive to us. every combat profession is going to want, and should getthis. the prereqs and damage balance are the keys to making it work, i believe.

Dual wielding would mean more balance is needed within our profession. A jedi's power would be centered around the fact that we can hold two sabers which means everyone with only one saber would be far weaker then dual. Don't think dual wielding would be a good idea at this moment but if it was in game in the far far future, let it be an extremely hard quest that can only be done in solo and non-tradable.
