The golden age is truly, truly over. After overhearing a conversation between someone, a guy whose a complete newbie started actively in late july, and is now a cl 80, max on healing, unarmed and some other stuff waiting for sith and crystal already glowy (glowy at cl 20) and ready for the fs grind.

No one cares about the game to experience. it really is a mad dash to jedi. if SOE wants players to say, they need to market the GCW. if not, people will get jedi, get bored and bounce to another game.

theres no mystery or excitement of jedi anymore. I remember hearing the hum of a saber and going crazy running to go see it. and no, im not mad at the newbies, more like SOE. All vets who play for over a year should be rewarded, and not with some holo either. something really worth having...just look at all the holos on sale in shops.

Yeah, the newbies this great. so much to do and see. but its their right to go straight jedi.

The newbie tells used to annoy the heck out of me with the how do i become a jedi tells, but now. its a whole new game. its not the same. it never will be.

However like most oldies, my days are numbered too. There are alot of new online rpgs comming out and sony well...the truth is they are going to loose alot of their playerbase to this because of their history.

Back on the subject. After hearing just how fast you can go from zero to full temp now adays, post cu have it totally easy (yea, me too). Sony wants easy. They got it. But its really shocking at how its simplified, and how they pattern this game after their others. Im thinking, wheres the creativity? why be a clone of others?

I just hope that swg2 will NOT be by sony. no way no how. Also, if they do have another online rpg (by sony) im not going to buy it. no way. This has been a learning experience for us all. but it really shows us about the changes of the game...even when companies change hands...

Why am i posting this? im not sure, but i guess mainly all that talk about how easy it is never really REALLY hit me till i heard that story. Theres no challenge, no real difficulty and its just not the same anymore as far as us oldies go. All the nerfs, and bugs...so pathetic.

Ah well. come on Startrek online, D&D online, maybe CoH......heck, maybe even wow...those that left for WoW, mabye they werent crazy after all...

why do you think theres going to be an SWG 2? there might be things wrong with SWG , yeah, but many of the bugs are caused by the devs pushing out things the players want, or are too impatient for. look at the last and next few publishes, most professions have changed because SOE decided to do stuff, because ppl started cancelling accounts because SOE wouldnt run around like a lapdog, even tho it specifically states in the legal contract that you sign every time you log in, that they will not make publishes specifically suited to you.

just remember that it is their game. not yours or mine. they can and will do whatever they want with it. if you dont like it, stop crying and go play another game.

yes, SOE did make a major mess up making jedi far too easy to obtain, but dont blame that on SOE. Lucasarts specifically told them to do it, so it would time in with the release of the movies and computer console games.

Remember, SOE is under licence to lucasarts and has to put in what they say.

YES, they seriously need to do something about the overpopulation of jedi, but they wont. Why? because it is bringing in new accounts, and new accounts = more money. remember, SOE is a business and thats it. The prime goal of any business is to make as much money as possible

yes. it should not be that easy. and soe should have been professional enough to say hey, the jedi route is going to be much easier. The dev mentality changed since the lauch. And soe should have said something about that.

Nah, the faerys who went to WoW are still crazy, and as technacally superior as that, and other new games may be, those fools will never be able to say they were a jedi, like us. No matter how cool there paladen retard is. But on the same token, I cannot wait for star trek online to come out, lol, only about 2 more years to go!

I vote turbine for SWG2...they're doing amazing things with lotro.....and they didn't have alot to work with....meo was shaping up to be worse than SWG ever was.

they took a rushed andbroken game with a great license and are turning it into an amazing game with a great license.

imagine what they could do with the BEST license.

1) We had our time, we enjoyed playing jedi in a way they will never know. this counts.
2) Premiums not dropping hurts mostly new jedi although there are veterans in the same boat too. But overall it's a reward for vets.
3) Given a set of tools (game mechanics) and an objective (climbing frs ranks if any): each of us will prove what we learned. You've learned something in 2 years, didn't you?
4) Since jedi gear is important it is also expensive, most vets have an upperhand over n00bs because we have money. So we have better gear.

Bottom line, I am not envy noobs jedi in any way. I pity them. I want to help them without compromising my position. This is what all of us should do.

It was the same mad dash before the village, except the village made it a lot faster to get to unlocking.

About 14 months ago, I would say that 1/3 of the people I knew in game who had been playing for more than a couple of months were going for jedi...
