why do you think theres going to be an SWG 2? there might be things wrong with SWG , yeah, but many of the bugs are caused by the devs pushing out things the players want, or are too impatient for. look at the last and next few publishes, most professions have changed because SOE decided to do stuff, because ppl started cancelling accounts because SOE wouldnt run around like a lapdog, even tho it specifically states in the legal contract that you sign every time you log in, that they will not make publishes specifically suited to you.

There is gonna be an SWG 2?

a rant about what?

You arent talking about me?

Idiot you dont have to read my post. I dont care about what you think. What you started playing this game 2 months ago? your opinion means nothing to me. I dont care about you whatsoever. your existence is of zero importance to me.

now back to the subject at hand

just remember that it is their game. not yours or mine. they can and will do whatever they want with it. if you dont like it, stop crying and go play another game.

yes, SOE did make a major mess up making jedi far too easy to obtain, but dont blame that on SOE. Lucasarts specifically told them to do it, so it would time in with the release of the movies and computer console games.

Remember, SOE is under licence to lucasarts and has to put in what they say.

YES, they seriously need to do something about the overpopulation of jedi, but they wont. Why? because it is bringing in new accounts, and new accounts = more money. remember, SOE is a business and thats it. The prime goal of any business is to make as much money as possible

Cause lucas wont let the horrorible shame that is SWG tarnish the SW name. Star wars games arnt the best out there, but they arn't this bad either. Their will be an SWG2, whether its done by sony or some other company. And they will employ what they have learned from this game to make the second one truely what people envisioned.

yeah i agree with that one. one of the main issues with this game (other than bugs) is that so young in the games life (2years) they made the CU. Not good. Not to mention i have never heard in any other online rpgs of so many friggin nerfs. HUGE mistake which just plain turns off the users.
Way too many major twist and turns in the first two years of the games life. way too many. Good game = -SOE

Nah, the faerys who went to WoW are still crazy, and as technacally superior as that, and other new games may be, those fools will never be able to say they were a jedi, like us. No matter how cool there paladen retard is. But on the same token, I cannot wait for star trek online to come out, lol, only about 2 more years to go!

Most of the people who left for wow or eq2 already had jedi and left for reasons described by the original poster. I feel sorry for all the new jedi that never got to experience it pre-publish 9 and for those who didnt get to experience it pre-CU. At least some of us got to.....but its a double edged sword because i think we're the ones who are the most upset about our dumbed-down profession.

1) We had our time, we enjoyed playing jedi in a way they will never know. this counts.

Yes. And what is more, my friend, it makes me feel like I am part of a fading Jedi Order.

I remember the halcyon days of Jedi.

Now I skulk in the shadows - a shade myself of my former self - and I wait. Wait for the changing of times. Waiting for the Force to call be out of the darkness. My time will come again...

I just hope that swg2 will NOT be by sony. no way no how. Also, if they do have another online rpg (by sony) im not going to buy it. no way. This has been a learning experience for us all. but it really shows us about the changes of the game...even when companies change hands...

You really should try a game from another company and you will see that they are not better in any way.

After that you will have another view of SWG.

Played Jumpgate for two years , Played eve for a year Played WOW (didnt like it too simple) all great games in their own way , all executed better than SWG .

Pirates , LOTR , D&D , Dark n lite, Conan and eventually star trek (not in that order)

Your Right , I dont blame these new people who get Jedi in two months from signing up its SOE's money grabbing distortion of Star Wars. Many of us are just hanging about waiting for the new MMo's to arrive and we are gone. Im sure lots will be happy with that , itll meen you wont have to listen to us moaning about how good the game was in the begining.

talking about emptying servers....when the new mmorpg's come out, it wont be just one or two players...whole guilds will leave to start the new games. Your talking up to 200 people Poof! Gone overnight. Ask around, the buzz from alot of guilds in the game is to start new guilds on other games. Look at what happened to alot of guilds right after the cu. Of the few lessons soe has taught us is you better get in on the ground floor of a new game to get all the advantages. Now, I doubt that any other game company is stupid enough like soe to completely change the game dynamics as drasticly as they did here. Heck, even the other gaming companies have watched how fast soe has sunk a flagship game. They wont make the same mistakes soe did, and keep doing. I know one thing I am doing if soe doesnt fix this game and I leave for a newer one...I am calling my credit card company and disputing the charges from may 5th to when i quit. Siting that soe has been publishing a broke game. At least I can get my money back temporaily...you never know.

KRAKEN666 you sir are absolutly right.

I can't tell you how many people I know in game are just killing time for LOTR online lol.

When that launches in 06my guess would be 50% of whos left here will go there and try it. Since time is limited the new game will be the one they keep and cya to swg. They will try an expansion and a nice shiny present to keep you but one month after lotr goes live is when this game fallsimo.

Yes. They have noticed. And SOEs problem is having such major changes so early on. After about 2 years of play you cant just change the dynamics of the game and expect people to be jolly. Then, you advertise jedi and it totally blows when you actually get it due to all the nerfs. in addition, the people that have been playing the longest are on exact par with those whove been playing for 2 months. That just does not sound fair to me at all.

Of all the issues with Jedi, you not being rare is your greatest one?

And you are going to solve this by moving to a new game?

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.
