Why don't jedi have saber defense like the other combat professions have? Like Rifle Defense, Unarmed Defense, etc. which add their amount to melee and ranged defense when that weapon is wielded.. Is this a bad idea?

Where is our Lightsaber DEfense? I know you all will flame me but seriously every other profesion gets defense. Why cant the devs give us lightsaber defesnse. CArbines/rifles/swords/tka all have carbine/rifle/swords/unarmed defense that stacks with thier general melee defense. Flame me if you want i'm not pissing about it just would like to know why we all just cant get alittle love. I know the answer i'm goign to get, "if yoiu want defense take up pnts in defender" I have defender just seems silly that a non-defender has 0 defense to me, especially if they dont have armor

Do you want the "if you want defense take Defender" or "because a Jedi Mastery costs less skill points than a regular Mastery" answer?

totally agree, I am a master defender, master saber and I think is BS that you have to take some defender for defence. we need lightsaber toughness and lightsaber defence in the in the saber tree. This will balnce it to were you will see master healer, and others out there. This will obviously over power defender so we will have to make the proper changes to bring them in line and ultimately defender will have the most defence.

I realize that these will be the answers, but the "jedi costs less skill points" is untrue. After taking 24 for FS skills (worthless skills, I might add), a jedi must use 80% of the available SPs to essentially get Master Lightsaber with defenses.

Such a template for a swordsman would be 40% of their SPs to get this, then another 40% to get superior healing with a bit left over to defense stack (or totally defense stack/special stack with some decent healing).

There's no way for a jedi to match the overall healing AND defense (unless you consider aura-which is somewhat matched with duelist stance) while maintaining the same amount of offense. As it stands, something MUST suffer.

I think that THIS is the true answer. SoE let the Jedi out of the bag. They regret that since some players now expect Jedi as an option while others detest the fact that Jedi are playable characters. The only solution is to keep Jedi as playable, but make it undesirable. Welcome to the Great Jedi Nerf.

What about defenses for Force Wielders then?

How about we put the defenses where they belong and change Defender to another sort of discipline or eliminate it all together? It really makes no sense that someone can learn a sword technique and ONLY learn the offense.

How in the world would a Jedi be considered a Master Lightsaber without knowing how to block? LOL

It would have to be in Force Wielder as well to be fair. More like an evasion ability. (Not that this will EVER happen)

Keep in mind that all the regular profs "Defence" is nothing more then adding to there melee and ranged def. not lowering there damage but enhanceing there primary defences (melee and ranged) while holding that weapon.

granted yes that would be cool to have a +5 to that LS in each box, getting the +20 that a regular prof does (they get it only in marksmen or brawler)

Now for powers... humm, your not weilding a weapon so to speak, I mean I have a master riflemen toon and when he unequips his rifle to nothing at all his defences drop dramaticly, so I could not see where a powers would get a defence mod like that, unless they got force defence mods /shrug.

See with a +5 in each box (+20 total) while HOLDING a saber of that class will you get this defence,, as soon as you unequip your saber you would lose that mod. Defender has there mods 24/7.

Want more defence get more defendor I guess for now lol

if it were up to my I would put force wielders in the FRS, because after all the knowledge of the force has always been part of your rank in the FRS. So powers will get a respec.

been there done that, was alot of fun but you knew what everyone could do. (pre-pub 9) granted we could not train in the "Master" box, but hey 4/4/4/4 gaurdian was fun, all the powers, all the sabers bla bla bla.. oh but 0 defences LOL, but we had Composite armor to wear
