pre-cu there was saber toughness that was awesome, and only worked if you were weilding a ls. Now its a must to have some defender in your temp (xx4x defender), and for the people that say its not there are mostly kd/stasis fr3 freaks that cloak.

Well I believe Valor in the defender line adds blocking. I guess it would make more sense to have Valor in the LS line.

Personally, I think the entire Defender skill tree was a very, very bad idea from the get-go. Powers and LS should have their own defenses. and the defender tree should really go POOF.

It would be a lot more movie like for all of us concerned.

IMO, they shouldmake improved Aura only grant 250 - 400points of Defense and add Advanced at Master Defender granting 500 -800 points of defense actually giving a significant benefit over the 4040 or 0040 Dabblers...but even I realize that's a bit too harsh, as is destroying an already "meh" profession. You'd have a better arguement w/ Healer rather than destroying Defender.

Well I believe Valor in the defender line adds blocking. I guess it would make more sense to have Valor in the LS line.

TIme for me to be flamed, Someone justify having to grind a full template, at 1.6mil xp etc, grinding Master Saber, and getting no defenses. I want to have MLS, Master Enhancer, And Some of healer, maybe novice defender, But hang on, Ill get raped. Literally. Saber had defences before, Why not give us SOME to work at, and have a good chance of taking a stand instead of using the Master enhancer, JUST FOR RUNNING THE HELL AWAY!

make your font smaller next time so people can flame you easier ok?, even though I won't.

I want to have healing and not be forced to take it, Healing is much more elementary/universal than defense yet I HAVE to pick up at least 2 boxes in Healer to be effective. Does that make sense to you? And what about Enhancer? At least you can stasis and run away (yet stasis is never used to retreat) and you're given an armor line which reduces damage.

No one is disagreeing that the Jedi tree is stupid but its nowhere near as stupid as it was when you had to have MLS, 4004 Healer, X profession.....

enhancer is designed to control your target - not to negate his damage - with enhancer you can use stasis aggresively and use force armour for defence - also use melee def food for some level odf defence. Menh/nov def has 7000 armour but your not the tank - however if in trouble you dont just have to stand there and take it you can root/stasis and back off - a mdef doesnt have that ooption - its about chooices - a MENH build is not as rugged as a Mdef but has alot more options for use in combat other than "just stand there and take the damage" each is as viable as the other just to suit different playstyles - you just have to play to your strengths and attempt to hide your weaknesses

Im not talking about enhancer here, Im discussing the topic. which is **lightsaber defense**, I cant see how MLS doesnt have any defences???

As I stated earlier, how much Lightsaber Defense do you propose? How many Weapon Defenses do other professions recieve w/out SEAs?

More importantly....WHY should there even be LSer defense and if there is what difference would it make?

ok fair enough - it does have a fair bit of defence in the xxx4 tree with the saber block mod - that is equivelent to a whole stack of melee/ranged defence mods (but only vs a ranged opponent) - it is just the way the jedi stuff is designed you need to have powers/LS for offence and enh/defender for defence and a little healer - the way in which you split between those determines your playstyle and your expectations of jedi.

I agree , without some kind of defnder or Force armor you can kiss your jedi-butt good bye. It isnt fair that a jedi who has mastered a LS has no type of defnse with it . But i guess what is fair anymore ya know?

Before the CURB we had "Lightsaber Toughness" which wsa our base defense and at MLS we had +55 which was sort of like 55% armor, and Defender's defense worked seperately sort of like Synthsteak, it reduced damage after Lightsaber toughness but Defender's defense only worked against non Jedi since a master Defender still took full on damage from a lightsaber the same as everyone else.

The dev's idea of the 5 disciplines were kind of bad idea from the beginning of publish 9 and is worse now because most of us REQUIRE defense of any kind to survive.
