FA2 was a waste for me as MDEF. I've seen people post to the contrary, so listen to their points of view too, but I think it is a waste of force and SPsfor very minor returns.

force armour is rubbish compaired to MD

jedi armour caps at master defender and FA1 = 90 IA or 61%, FA2 makes no difference what so ever

your first line of defence is melee defence not armour

FA can be breached and every hit drains your force

The vulnerabilities of FA are more than made up with by the other array of skills availabel in the discipline

Enhancer x4xx will get hit harder and more often than an MDef and lose a lot of Force.
Enhancer x4xx / Def 0000 will get hit about as hard but more often as a MDef and lose a lot of Force.
Enhancer x4xx / Def 0040 will get hit about as hard and a little more often than a MDef and lose some Force.

If you dont have the skill points for MDef, Def 0040 / Enh x4x2 is a pretty good and viable economy-class defense.

I myself have Def 0040 / Enh x4x2 and can tank CL 80 picket lairs, but I will need to use Force Channel to get back the Force I lost from the hits on my Armor. I wouldnt recommend Force Armor without Force Aura or you will be hit pretty often and for more damage, which will lead to a huge Force drain.

Comparison:

MDef:
700 ranged / melee / Force defense
70 Jedi Innate Armor
no Force cost for hits taken

Def 0040 / Enh x4xx:
500 ranged / melee / Force defense
70 Jedi Innate Armor
8% of the damage mitigated taken from the Force pool.

What about Def 4x4x and enhancer x4xx? Would bump up the melee defense and and some more innate armor.

would give you about 58% armour, master defender has 53%

but can be breached and your force will still drain with each hit

So master Defender and x4xx enhwould be a waste?

exactly what changes between FA1 and 2 besides the damage taken. Duration? Effectiveness (force drain/damage?)

If it caps at FA1 with minimal difference to 2, then M def x2xx enh would be wise for the strictly defensive Jedi, correct?

Ciao,

Ciao,

Its not worth the skill points if your master def. Waisting 14 points on FA1 wont give you much more defense and instead you will simply drain your force just that much faster. I would invest that 14 points elsewhere.

And if you still want full defensive template and still think thats viable, fine, in PvE and PvP vs ranged you will get that small benefit. But I trust you will be unhappy with that force drain caused by FA1
