Thread: Dropping Master Lightsaber a good idea?

I am currently Master Lightsaber / Master Defender / 3000 Healer / 0002 Enhancer

I am considering going Master Defender / 0444 Lightsaber / 4000 Healer / 3002 Enhancer

or Master Defender / 0404 Lightsaber / 4100 Healer / 4004 Enhancer

My thoughts were that I wanted to get Force Speed and Force Run (and Meditate, but only because I like the ability to meditate, I don't think I need Force Meditate).

My question is, would I be just shooting myself in the foot by dropping Master Lightsaber for Force Speed and Run? The master box has +25 saber-specific speed and +20 general melee speed but Force Speed is only +20 speed, right? Would I need to invest in speed tapes?

I'm just looking for a way to justify my change if/when I decide to make it.

Well, the faster you are the more force you use and the more action etc.

I'd say you will be ok as long as your saber is pretty good and you have some speed and accuracy tapes on your clothes.

Right now my saber is 667 max damage with a SAC of 99. I forget the speed. Maybe 1.61 or thereabouts

Personally I can't live without my KD saber throw. So my biased answer would be, no, don't drop MLS.

I also thought about that, losing ranged KD. But anymore, when I KD I tend to use sweep instead. And I would have Suppression to root the target if I wanted to stop them from a distance.

In addition to these considerations, please-oh-please bear in mind that by dropping MLS you lose the ability to craft the best possible saber. Some will say that the difference in saber crafting between MLS and not is small, especially if you have access to a +20 crafting suit, but it remains nevertheless a negative aspect of having no MLS in your template. And who knows what the future may bring in terms of resources and the LS crafting system.

Having said all that, MMORPG's can make you a hostage to the future if you let them - I guess you could always regrind MLS if crafting LS changes significantly.

He already IS master lightsaber and therefor, already made a saber with 10 experimentation points. Dropping MLS won't force him to delete his good saber and make another one with 7 points.

As long as the speed bonus of MLS is broken, I say it's not worth it. Getting force speed will give you a very nice speed bonus that actually works. Once or **IF** they fix saber speed, then MLS will be priceless

Yeah thats exactly it, the Master LS KD can be a pain as it doesnt give you the chance to just do a normal saber throw.

If your fighting the ideal situation is to root, then KD, advanced saber throw can actually work against you here.

Depends doesnt it, are we talking PVP here, as lets face it, 1v1 doesnt happen much in PVP, it doesnt matter how fast your saber is or how accurate if you have 2 or 3 other Jedi on you anyway.

Again, it all depends on what you want to be doing in the game, be it group PVP, solo PVP (lol) PVE or just tailoring your template for BH attacks.

I'd agree with you your original template is a good all round template, but is probably more geared towards PVE.

Kiters are the main problem with Master Defender Master Sabers. Also bear in mind if you go against someone with a debuff skill, ie SAP, Drain Force, all they have to do is use that on you and outlast your force, action, mind and your dead. especially if they are Master Defenders too.

I KNOW he's already MLS. My point, which I thought was clear, is that if better resources come along, or LS crafting is changed, then AFTER dropping MLS he will be unable to craft a 12 point saber and will be without the MLS crafting bonuses.

At no time did I suggest that the would have to destroy his current saber.

*rolles eyes*

(and gets a double one).

Peace.
