That was the same thing I was thinking.

I've been testing CU for a few days now, and I am down to three major problems with it:

1) No stimpacks/medical crafted items for healing

2) Icons are silly, no combat queue/peace button/clear button.

3) Jedi should not be forced into equivalent roles as other professions as the totality of their skillset. A Jedi template should be more well-rounded than a standard combat template (Good healing, great offense, good defense) and more comat oriented than a doctor or CM template. I'm fine with keeping the relative lack of tanking ability from this system if Jedi remain feeling like Jedi, and it gives more of an incentive for people to stay with traditional professions for some roles over Jedi.

The icons didn't bother me too much.

I finished playing the CU for the first time, and I thought it was fun. For one, I liked that I had to stay involved.

You can add a peace button. Just hit ctrl-a and its in there somewhere. I used it several times today. It didn't have a new icon though, which I found weird.

I don't like pointless grinds.
Thank you for reintroducing decay!!!
I like a complex, immersive world simulation, full of possibilities, challenges and roleplay.
I want a player driven, crafting-based economy.

From what you are experiencing now, do you think low-level Jedi will be able to solo?

I think the CU is good, for the regular prof's. It will bring grouping back into teh game other then jsut solo groups and alot of features for the main prof's are good. I just dont see how a jedi is going to be compatable with this new system. Being its 99 percent group orientated.

Yes, I do. MOBs three levels below you (I'm taking them on as Unarmed 3 with little to no problem) grant 1120 XP each. MOBs one level below grant 1800 XP. I have never healed more than once on these things, using Center of Being. As well, finding missions at your difficulty will not be hard; mission terminals spit out missions at your level or 1 or 2 levels below.

Having an artificially high level from other skills will not affect your combat skills too much; you will not take more damage from a MOB because you are using a "lower" weapon than your top cert. This hasn't been tested, of course, so I'm not positive, but I do as well with Rifles 1 on these MOBs as I do with 2h 3, but I need to heal more. That's without kiting, by the way. They've also lowered high-level regen and upped high-level HAM, making it more feasable to be able to "hang in there" with a big MOB while not destroying combat utterly.

Jedi leveling will definitely be possible, but it will be slower. I'd recommend a change of Jedi XP to one half of standard weapons XP, which, when combined with the larger boxes, would be more in balance re: time/effort with the 1.5x standard while still making Jedi more difficult than its numbers alone are worth.

The thing is, Jedi XP is - I believe - 1/5th of normal weapons xp. That means Jedi paddies are going to be getting 200 Jedi Xp from each kill rather than the 1k under the old system, no?

the thing is, we havent been able to see the higher end mob xp cause we havent been killing them. we cant determine the xp a jedi gets utnil we see it on tc5... but i am very optimistic and i feel jedi will be able to grind easily solo.

XP is based solely on level. Thanks to some bugs, which I reported, I was able to test XP gain on bigger critters.

Level 18 group vs. Level 65 critter grants roughly 7000 XP. However, in that time, you can kill MANY lower critters. Plus, killing these things when the AI turns back on will require ranged professions, crowd control and mezzers, since they hit for over 1300 damage.

DON'T HOLD ME TO THIS:

It looks like Jedi XP is equal to standard prof XP.

One move is giving incorrect XP: Ranged weapon KD grants Jedi XP

If I do one, I get 17 XP converted from weapons to Jedi, and 2 XP off the Combat total.

This is the same rate as doing one hit with a wimpy melee strike.
