Thread: Cloak Nerf Is Going To Ruin Alot Of Templates

I am not sure if you guys agree with me on this, but SOE nerfing cloak is going to screw up alot of templates. Right now cloak is the only thing that is worth anything in the whole powers tree. I hope they give powers users or dabblers the opportunity to respec after giving them the shaft and runing their templates. It is sad because Jedi is getting weaker and being nerfed weekly now. I hope SOE has a plan on how they are going to deal with this. Also if cloak never worked the way it was suppose to, why the hell did they wait so long to correct it. I will tell you why, because SOE does not like their customers to get to comfortable with something before they start swinging the NERF bat. That is why.

This is my 2 cents. What are you guy's views on this?

Correction. Cloak is the only thing good in the whole powers tree...UNLESS you master it

I agree with you there, because I am Master Powers myself.

Yep, I have just the cloak line, so basically I have 28 SP wasted if this nerf is as bad as people say it will be. I dont think they should give a respec just yet, but after all the nerfing and fixes and possibly when the FRS comes back you get to respec when you log on and only at that time so the system isnt exploitable. Just my opnion since some people have their templates set to what use to be effective a long time ago but with all the changes is not so hot anymore.

there will not be a respec. Skills change. It's unfortunate, but it is a part of playing an MMORPG that clearly states "experience subject to change during online play" on the packaging. should people who don't like the way Ranger is going getting a respec? How about people who masterered Ranger but dropped it? Repsecs were a bad idea, and people haven't stopped asking for them since. They won't happen again, they really messed up the game.

Plus, unless you have hard numbers on the degree of the snare(if it's the same as rifleman's kneecap shot it will be laughable, really) you really don't know if it will ruin cloak. In my mind, everything except the snare makes sense. But as Blixtev said, these changes are going in to ensure that stealth is used in the situations it's supposed to be usefull in. But until we know the extent of the changes and the actual numbers, you have to relax and wait for data. Speculation is not a substitute for information.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Actually you are right , we should definitely get another respec when they implement the FRS. That would be better.

There will be a respec. How do I know? They're making it Star Wars WoW. WoW recently changed Hunter talents and allowed essentially a respec for them I believe. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I do agree that too many respecs is a bad thing, but granting players 1 time respec because of this change in a skill tree would not harm anyone or be exploitable. The only reason it was exploited in the first place was because SOE was confused about how they were going to make the CU work and people abused the system. It is SOE's fault, not the customer base.

Yes, I'll take that bet. IF I were to regrind, I could not possibly regrind it in a day. I'm master powers...not just one line for cloak.

That's not necessarily true. I've got a friend who's pretty much 2222 in all the lines he wants. Don't ask me why he didn't go higher in saber before now but he didn't. I'm sure he'd just simply love to respec into master lightsaber. I say why not let em have it but I have a feeling that's not going to happen.

I'm still unburying myself from - 5 million pre curb to change one single box in Enhancer. I could have easily done that by now by I don't grind so I'm still -1.5. I know a 1 time respec would help me a ton. Still if they're only changing something in powers why would they offer a respec to the entire population? We know the answer to that. Convenience.

They could possibly give everyone a respec. The only problem I could foresee is for those who still have token respecs stored up.

I do not pity the dabblers that will be affected by this no matter how it turns out. I do hate the cloak nerf. But maybe I am just bitter because SOE just nerfed my jedi and my unlock char(master ranger) in one big swing of the bat.
