I agree they will be nerfed.....
They reasoning behind the difficulty is due to geaorge lucas keeping to continuinty or at least as best as you can in a game of this manner.
Jedi's are rare in the time period and they are hunted. Hence they are difficult to attain and even more so to keep.
omfg... jedi nerfed? I am willing to bet money that jedi in this game will always be UBER powerful, so long as they always remain RARE. One of the MAIN REASONS jedi are going to be so RARE is because the devs want them to be very powerful.
The reward of working so hard to be a jedi is to have lots of power. They made jedi rare to match the timeline, but they also made jedi rare becaues they didn't want the jedi to be "balanced" with the other professions. In order to stay true to the movies in regards to jedi, they have to make jedi much more powerful than anyone else. So what do you do with an uber powerful profession? you make it almost impossible to achieve and give it permadeath.
The day jedi are nerfed is the day everyone gets free FS slots and permadeath is taken out of the game. That day will also be the day I quit this game. But i don't think that'll ever happen.
Jedi do not have to remain balanced with anyone... If for no other reason than they are going to have to very carefully pick their fights to avoid permadeath, and they will not be able to simply walk into town and chop people in half on a whim...
They just won't impact normal gameplay enough to need nerfing.
Unless you count "reverse nerfs", such as the NPCs that are sent to hunt Jedi getting bumped up in difficulty.
The devs assume that at any given time, there will be no more than a handful of Jedi in existance, per server. So, each server is going to have between 3-10 jedi. EVERYONE is ACHING to be a jedi, so how come only a handful will ever exist at any given time?
Because no matter how badly most of the people here *WANT* to be a jedi, NOT many of them are willing to go through the torturous means required to become a jedi.
You may claim now that you are ready to work hard for it, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, a lot of people will give up. It is VERY frustrating to die over, and over, and over again, losing skills that took months of CAREFUL hiding to work up. You are going to pull your hair out and beat your pets in frustration from the difficulties of becoming a Jedi. Mara Jade or Boba Fett is going to pop up one day when you are taking a piss and permakill your JediKnight. Darth Vader is going snap his fingers anddestroy months of hard and lonely time spent earningjedi skill.It takes a special kind of person to pay for a game, and play that game, in such a self-defeating manner.
I, for one, am looking forward to being one of those handful.
I bet that when we do have Jedi in the game, they're all gonna be certified loons. Peramdeath willeventually wear and tear and your mental abilities, and even if you do become a Jedi master, you'll be neurotic, paranoid, and snappy.LOL!
