Thread: Jedi Temples!! A New FRS Proposal bringing Star Wars content to Jedi Knights
- it delivers a new FRS, where Fight Clubbing is completely eliminated
- it delivers Star Wars content for Knights, integrated into the FRS and their quest for greater strength
- the new FRS and Star Wars content keeps Knights busy andreduces their interactions with non-Jedi
- There will bea Jedi Temple on each planet, with an NPC Jedi Council, enterable only by Knights
- Temples and their NPC's can beturnedto the Light or Dark side during vulnerability windows with PVE followed by PVP action
- All Knights on same planet will be warned when an attempt to turn a Temple is initiated
- The only source of FRS experience is from killing other Knights inside Jedi Temples during the vulnerability windows (say bye bye to Fight Clubs...)
- Having more Temples on your sideboosts defensive FRS force modifiers and increases the number of NPC's in your side's Temples. The losing sidegets a counterbalancing(but smaller) boost to offensive FRS force modifiers and a delay in the warning issued when they attack temples.
- Itprovides meaningful, Starwarsycontent for Knights, keeping them busy and therefore reducing the incidents of Jedikilling non-Jedi in cities
- FRS progression becomes a grand affair, eliminating Fight Clubsandwithgenuine PVP action at its heart, also involving a neat roleplay dimension with PVE and organizational / grouping skills

Zorron, like your idea, but I have a few suggestions:
1. Make it only on 2 or 3 planets (Yavin, Dant and Dath spring to mind, but what about Talus, Lok and Yavin to boost population?) The reason for this is that if this was on *all* planets, the jedi would be spread too thinly across the galaxy.
2. For any temple that is attacked, all knights of that side, no matter where they are will get a system message (so they can travel to the endangered temple and fight) - even if they are on a different planet.
3. The turning criteria should be something like more than half not revived, rather than *all* not revived, since it might be easy to miss one.
Alternatively, the temples could be like the static cities- when some jedi action occurs (still like the idea of all jedi being notified), then whichever side has the most 'points' at the next server restart gets the temple.
Also, how about the top of the temple (inner sanctum, etc) has a portal/shuttle/some thing else that allows aligned jedi to 'port in' to protect the temple from attacks. (They still have to travel to the correct planet, but until the temple is taken, this allows them to defend the battle and enter at a safe place).
Nice idea.

I thought about this problem already..that's why there is a randomized 12 - 24 hour delay between vulnerability windows, to ensure that there won't be more than one or two temples in play at any one time.
2. For any temple that is attacked, all knights of that side, no matter where they are will get a system message (so they can travel to the endangered temple and fight) - even if they are on a different planet.
I thought about that too....the reason I left it that way is to allow room for player-based organization, such as chat channels, and also to allow room for interesting tactics, such as a small diversionary force attacking one temple on Lok, drawing Knights from all the Galaxy by word of mouth, then a bigger force attacking the temple on Rori without any opposing Knights noticing, and capturing it without resistance...stuff like that to keep the game interesting once it starts getting too repetitive down the line....
3. The turning criteria should be something like more than half not revived, rather than *all* not revived, since it might be easy to miss one.

Temples need to change hands on the spot...this can't get bogged down by server resets.

Quite the contrary...there should be a time delay for getting there to allow those who are better organized an advantage. Also, the temple grounds should have several entrances, and the Council Chamber should have several entrances...I am thinking octagonal or square designs, with 4 or 8 entrances.
Nice idea.

its ok, but... and i say but, people don't loike seeing jedi, maybe make an island that is instanced when you travel to it, if you are jedi you see the temple. if you aren't its just an empty island, the jedi would surely use some cool powers to hide it?

Its still a fight club if only ranked members would be allowed to enter, how would anyone ever gain/challenge for rank?
