your saber is priity good, i know alot of new jedi with saber way below these stats. and maybe i need to master saber again to because my base sac of 100 is to high. but on the other hand i had to fight against one of these mcm bountyhunters after i had reinstalled the game and lost my toolbar so i had to relearn where is which button almost had him but i lost.
so i don't know if it was your better saber and more damage (i'm no master saber) or my foult for not knowing my toolbar that i lost.

btw these armor slices are the pain and the bh have no trouble to get the slicing parts, i made my second to a mbh to loot some ca and most stuff i loot are armor slice parts, alomst every mission one armor slice part. i think this anti armorbreak slice is a little over powered and need to be rearangered. i don't say remove it just just give armor break a little higher chance to stick, or add some more damage to the armor break hit so it isn't totaly useless when it never sticks or raise the time when it stick.

My first BH visit since becomming a full template jedi occured last night and what fun, it was a MBH/MCM and I have read so much about this much feared template on the forums.

My template is LS Master/ Master Defender / Enhancer 0.0.0.2 / Healer 3.0.0.0, not alot of toys but generally a sturdy template, with excellent damage and defense.

Anyway since completing my template the quest for enhancing my saber has begun in earnest, when I hit Lightsaber Master I crafted a new one and with the 10 experimentation points I put them all into efficiency to get the lowest possible SAC as both speed and damage can be modified with the CA/AA.

So my saber is 29fc, dmg 490-586, sac 96, wound 36.97 (2 pearls 83,87dmg/2 crystals 77,98 dmg, and no special like banes or sunriders), DPS is about 403.

So for a post cu saber not bad but nowhere near a perfect saber.

Well thats me, now for the BH, I been reading alot on the forums how MBH/MCM can cause you real problems and was worried about my first encounter. However Im now a full template and have no intentions just yet anyway of changing my template so xp loss is not really a concern, I thought its time to bite the bullet and stand and face my foe.

I was on Lok doing some corsair missions (farming for better crystals - which are not dropping too badly), and I came accross a player vendor which I decided to take a look at. So Im in the vendors house and I see the blue dot approach, now I pretty out of the way so I realise fairly quick this must be a BH. I sat in the vendors house in one of the back rooms waiting for him to come to me. I put up defenses Imp Aura, Imp Valor, and Imp Infusion, and some minor buff food to enhance regen stats.

In he comes and bang TEF'd and ejected to the outside of the building and the fight starts.

He starts throwing all the DoT's at me that the MCM have at their disposal but there not really hurting that much and he had a reasonably nice mid range weapon and was hitting me for around 600-700dmg per shot and the DoTs when applied were ticking for 25-257 depending on what they were think the fire hurt the most. So all in all he dealing more damage to me than I could to him.

So were running backwards and forwards for a couple of minutes but he never really could hurt my health, couple of times even forgot to throw back up my aura and infusion and still he did not take me below 2/3 of my health bar.

His action and mind never really seemed to move that much when he was attcking and healing, but I just kept piling on the leg hit/body hit/head hit.

The biggest problem I seemed to have was every time I kocked him down he slid away from me and was even sometimes looked to me like I was standing next to him, tried to do a hit and got "too far" message, and the second problem was never once managed to land armour break on him so must of had some seriously sliced armour.

His tactics seemed simple he could not damage me enough to beat me in a quick fight and I could see he was going for a force or mind run out to take me down and wanted to kite me as he could not take my damage up close.

About halfway through the fight I nearly had him but again slid away and I missed the incap.

I then decided to change tactics a bit, so I hid behind a player house and got LOS on him, so I could lose agro and get some burst run food out of my inventory, quickly eat some and resumed the battle.

But this time I put him on auto follow so I did not have to worry about keeping close to him and I could concentrate on dishing out the damage, from that point very quickly I got him below 50% health / imp saber throw for KD and incapped. DB'd real quick, bowed and hopped on my bike and left.

I did use alot of force but this was the messing around earlier on in the fight.

Now the whole fight only lasted about 4-5 minutes and due to my lack of PvP experience (only 1154 PvP rating after this fight) I thought I did pretty well for first encounter.

However it was good experience and I have every confidence that I will take one of these temps down alot quicker next time.

Take my hat of to BH though he was very complimentory following the fight. He congratulated me on a good fight and even said best man won, we had a chat asked me about my temp and what could he of done to improve his chances of winning and I shared what limited knowledge I have. I thought considering the reports of the trash talk and hate some people talk of all of the events that transpired were pretty good.

My tactics for fighting these guys will probably be the same for future encounters outting the BH on follow (early in fight) does free up you attention on distance to be better concentrated on the attack, and it seems to me to be all about the timing of you attacks. Make the most of you attacks see after each attack which timer expires first and do that attack next and then repeat pretty soon you can have the attacks flowing in thick and fast. Lastly I know its an old cliche know your template, for example I know I dont have force run so I carry burst run food to compensate.

So back to original title of this post MBH/MCM - myth or fact cause really if someone like me with very little PvP experience and the limitations of a template somewhat lacking in thinks like root/force run/etc can still take down one of these guys then with tactics anyone can.

It sounds like you did all the right things you took yoru time figuring out your opponents template, you took advantage of yoru suroundings, you used the right foods for your situation. All I can think that might help you is yes keep him on /follow I used to do it back when I was a melee fighter & I still do it now as a jedi... sometimes but instead of always trying to tag him with head/body/leg hit as yoru auto attack make advanced saberthrow yoru auto attack that way when he snares/roots you or KD's you & you arn't right ther you are always dealing some damge to him & when you get up close then add in yoru other attacks.

Well thats about all I can add... all & all though great fight & use of tactics.

Ok, here's your problem. Your basing all yourconclusions on this one fight. I'm not flaming you or anything, but to assume that all BH/CM are going to be the same is rather nieve.

If you get a good BH/CM on you, you will run out of force with a saber with that FC, which incidently is aweful.

True enough, you will not take much damage with Master Defender, but you will also not be able to out-damage their insane healing abilities.

congrats on this win though.

Yeah appreciate fc on my saber is terrible but Im still hunting for those elusive decent pearls and crystals.

But as for running out of force I wasted alot of time early on in fight, learning to PvPas I went, nearly had the guy on at least two occasions early on but due to my lack of experience and things like the sliding bugfailed to finish him. I still finished fight with about 2000 left from my 6900 force points, plus as he never really damaged my health bar below 2200-2300 I could have channeled in fight once every two minutes or so as well to keep going a bit longer, and I had a holo ready just in case as I would always have just for those types situations but thanks for the additional advice. Its very appreciated.

Yes the saber issue is the main problem I think.

I have a similar template to you, I am Master Defender. I simply find I am unable to outdamage their healing especially if they kite. My saber is..hmm, average, with a FC of 17, and against a good BH the fight goes on forever and more often than not we call it quits as it just too damn boring to fight.

Well you couldn't of been fighting a very good MCM imho. First off you'd of never got hear me to body/head/leg hit me because i'd of snared you and without force run or root only saber throws for you.
Next off I find it very hard to believe that he can hit a MDEF for 600-700 damage I usually get about 500 dps with my damage capped pistol. But anyways lets assume your right (I have no intention of saying your not truthful or flaming).

First off he didn't use snare, second no trauma (if you were using infusion and heals too much i'd of drained your mind quickly enough if you were using aura and valor as well), third no haemmorhage to drain you action regen either from what you said. Now he did use dots which is a must against a Mdefs defences as they mitigate them. On a plus point for you you seem to havea decent post CU saber (exactly like my jedi) but should you of run up against my BH and a good MCM I'd of said you'd of probably lost.

Last point if you /follow me you'd be a fool as power attacks wont usually work as i'm up and running soon as i'm kd'ed, you don't have root so that would rule out one major attack for you.

Glad you got the win but be careful with you tactics. Any advice give me a /tell if you on flurry and a private msg when every

Good luck

Yes you did very good for your 1st timeout. Im not saying that i would have beat you if it were ME hunting you...but a 4-5min fight....sounds like that BH doesn't really know what hes doing all too well. I mean sure crap happens, maybe he just had a bad run or lag. But all of my Mdef fights last at LEAST 20min. glad to see you had fun =) Nice Kill.

No actually he did use root/snare/paralyse/fire as I stated all of the abilites that a MCM have at their disposal and for me not having force run or root, I do have a snare and I was using burst run food. No I dont use power attack as follow your quite right does not work , hence why I only used improvedleg/head/body and improved saber throw as in my OP.

As for his Carbine I believe it was when I reviewed my extended combat logs post fight and he was actually hitting for about 1500-1600 but my defense mitigated that down to about 600-700, and he was missing loads too (remember Im running around with+315 melee and +300 ranged before I even turn on aura/valor etc),forget the exact numbers as I dont have logs with me. It was also PuP'd and has some Kryat mods on it but could not tell you exactly what they were.

The fight was only 4-5 minutes and I did not run his mind or action out, he got sloppy I admit that. I timed my attack and when he missed a heal and was below 50% on health I KD, timed body hit and head hit all of which Im hitting for around 800-1000 dmg especially when they are knockdown.

But as my original post stated Im still learning PvP (1154) I must have had about 4-5 PvP encounters before this, but hey win lose or draw Im standing and fighting more :-)

I just wanted to say what a good experience it was and take my hat off to a polite player that after fight was curteous and polite not BH-Jedi hate which was good to see in game.

Im glad you had a nice fight, and congrats on the win. I dont mean to be condescending in any way but I dont think the BH that came after you really knew what he was doing. I have a 700+ max damage, 12fc saber, and Im also MLS/Mdef, and I fought a good BH/CM for 40+ minutes after which we called it a draw because neither of us was able to kill the other. He couldnt get my health down and I couldnt get his mind down.

Congrats on the victory.

But did the bh paralyze you at any time? Did he apply a speed debuff? If he was MCM and didn't do that, he didn't get the most out of his template.

Also, kiting requires genuine skill, and some bh's are better kiters than others. Keep that in mind.
