I don't know about the rest of you guys, but there's something not quite right about the 'saber' wars I often witness out in the open city lanscape. If there's anything the films show, it's that the Jedi; in order to preserve themselves; must use the highest level of discretion when demonstrating their force abilities.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting a limitation on Jedi at all. I dig the Jedi and have had one myself (I deleted him, long story, I won't bore ya with the details) and I aspire to gain another one in time. In fact I don't mind if every single account in the game has a Jedi character. It's the primal character type the films are focused on, so it's a natural thing to associate with a Star Wars game.
What I'm getting at is the use of those powers in broad daylight in the open cities for all to see. Now is the Empire serious in it's policy of Order 66; which invariably seeks to kill ALL the Jedi on SIGHT? The way the game reflects Imperial Policy, the Empire is unconcerned with the Jedi; which is NOT true.
A solution to this is to have a penalty for using force abilities within city limits. Each time a Jedi uses force abilities within city limits, a squad of ultra tough elite Stormtroopers spawn to that location via Imperial Shuttle, to investigate. If the Jedi in question is within combat range when they arrive (60 seconds later) the Stormtroopers will seek to kill the Jedi. If they succeed, the Jedi is "shelved" for two days. That means for 48 hours the Jedi cannot use any force powers whatsoever and is 'effectively' injured. But they can still login to the gameworld to allow for social or business activities as desired. For the penalty to kick in, the Stormtroopers have to deliver the death blow. This would be inline with what we see in Episode IV: A New Hope concerning Ben Kenobi and his hurried escape from Mos Eisley.
In the case of the Dark Jedi, we must recognise that for the sake of the game, the Sith rule of two had to be bent to allow for a 'Dark Jedi' or more accurately, a Jedi class that can be Imperial. So to make things all fair and good for both sides of the conflict and still maintain that ALL Force Users demonstrate reserve in their use of the force, the executor of the penalty for Dark Jedi shall be Darth Vader himself. This would be inline with how the character would deal with a hireling force user for 'embarrasing' the Emperor through possible exposure that the force is part of the Imperial war machine. Because if that information was known to the public, the Emperor's reputation would be at risk.
As far as the combat mechanics, the spawn would be relatively impossible to defeat even with a full team of any profession combination and ofcourse Darth Vader would have a strength similar to the whole squad put together.
Now in all fairness many of the Jedi fight in cities to take out the faction guards and shift the factional standing of the city to their own faction. This kind of behavior is admirable, but should be left to those who use blasters and Gaffi Sticks. There are plenty of player bases and a few NPC bases to earn faction points from if that's the only goal in mind.

the flood gates have been opened, there is no stopping it at this point I am afraid. The minute you put restrictions on people's play styles, that equals Lost accounts, sony will not do that/ For me personally, I'd love the idea of being chased if I was careless with my powers, but other people do not play this game for starwars immersion or roleplay. They may just like having glowing sticks and pvping as a jedi, so this may not fit with them, you have to consider the common demoninators before making a decision that affects thousands of players, it's not just you or I.

Jedi operating in the shadows=playing your alt.
There is no comprehensive way for a Jedi to play without getting vis. You can be as careful as possible and the chances are you will get a spawn or a drive by that will give you vis. Quests, instanced or otherwise gives vis. Most Jedi would most happily avoid vis if it were actuallypossible.

Didn't read . . . that being said, I'll operate my Jedi when and where I please. I already run the risk of forced PvP. I pay my monthly fees to play the same game as any GCW whiner, there is absolutely no reasonI should be penalized because someone gets a hair up their ass and is tired of getting killed by Jedi.

all this order 66 crap just makes me want to band with groups of jedi and destroy everything on the gcw. order 66 in the movie was when jedi were at their weakest....well, this game has invented its own timeline and in our timeline jedi rule. there is no doubt of that. soe would be smart to scratch the whole timeline business and start thinking about reality and what is actually happening in the game. this timeline crap is done and gone. nothing anyone can do about it. Jedi, even in this gimped state, can group to be the most powerful people in the universe. I say lets take this place over for real and then negotiate what we want to go covert again. ORDER 66 RECENDED.

I think they should force Stackers into hiding too, I never saw people in funky looking armor running around with metal sticks beating the crap out of everyone and then takinga few stimpacks and moving on. Jedi aren't invincible. Gank groups were around way before the huge Jedi population, it consisted of stackers and CMs and it was just as bad.
The movie timeline in this game is gone, it was ALWAYS gone. It was never in this game.
