VISIBILITY FAQ - VERSION 1.2 - MARCH 13, 2005

As I'm reading through the forums, I see SO many questions like these:
Does riding my bike with my sabre ignited give me vis?
Does using force absorb give me vis?
Does simply having my sabre equipped give me vis?
And more questions of the sort. Well, Jedi, this post will use answers from all the other posts of this nature and compile them to form a visibility FAQ.
FAQ will be directed in the obvious Question & Answer form, so here goes:
Do I get visibility for having my sabre equipped?
No!
Do I get visibility for equipping my sabre in public / around a NPC?
If done 25+ times you will achieve term status, but it's hard to get by doing this.
What is an NPC?
An NPC is a Humanoid (Non Player Character), these will givevis, but animals will not.
Do I get visibility for igniting my sabre in public / around an NPC?
You get 0 (ZERO) vis for igniting without blocking or using any jedi skills.
Do I get visibility for having my Padawan or Knight Robe equipped in public?
You get 0 (ZERO) vis for having the robe equipped.
Do I get visibility for equipping my Padawan or Knight Robe in public?
You get 0 (ZERO) vis for equipping your robe in public.
Do I get visibility forwearing or equipping my Jedi title in public?
You get 0 (ZERO) vis for equipping your tags.
Do I get visibility for being hit / blocking hits with Force Shield or Force Armor?
You get a good ammount of vis for each shot you block, as it does take force.
Do I get visibility for auto-attacking (no specials, just auto-retaliating to an attack WITH A LS) a target?
You get 0 (ZERO) vis for this, as long as you did not initiate combat.
Do I still get visibility if I kill the NPC who saw me do something?
You get even more vis for doing this. If an NPC sees you, run and hope he didn't.
Do I get visibility for doing my missions in front of a dead NPC?
You get 0 (ZERO) vis for this, dead guys don't make very good snitches

.Do I get visibility for performing in front my pet or droid?
You get 0 (ZERO) vis for this, however you will getvis in front of a NPC Faction Pet.
Do I get visibility for equipping my sabre in front of a group member?
You get full vis for this, although revisions have been sought to be made.
How does the residual visibility system work?
After you are tagged by a Bounty Hunter, you will be taken off the terminals or put on residential visibility (on the terms for 25k). Assuming you last without being tagged (if you have the res vis), you will be taken off the terminals in 3 days if you are a good little jedi. You get this residential visibility if your visibility is so high before you got tagged that you remain on even after you've died at the hands of a BH.

Ok, here's one that has been bothering me.... I am doing a lair, and Mokks are spwned about 75 meters away, so I am being careful... suddenly, the Mokks aggro on my lair creatures and run over to attack them...I move out of range, equip my VK's, and then move back in to take the mokks out with TK skills... now, the corpses of the Mokks are lieing there... I could loot them to make them disappear, but one only has credits, but the other two has eggs (and I don't really need eggs) so...do these corpses still count as viz giving NPC's? If they are still dead and lieing there, am I still going to get viz from them for re-equipping my saber and finishing my lair?

there dead right?? how could they give u vis?? no they do not give u vis.

How about visability while you have been termed? I've read it takes three weeks to fall off the BH terminals (unless you get killed by a BH with your mission), and you go onto the terms when you hit the 100% visibility point, whatever that is. What about once you are on the terms? Can you go running around all willy nilly (self-respect aside) doing specials on "a mercenary" in the Dantooine MO and actually keep yourself on the terms longer, or does this have no effect until you get knocked off of the terms by death or 3 weeks?
I'm in that situation right now...just got termed because of those stupid mokks and kungas random spawning next to me with cellphone in hand making a call to the local imperial authorities whilst I am whacking a quenker with uber force coolness.
And after being so careful otherwise...

while riding swoop and getting fired with ranged, saber does not ignite and force isnt consumed but combat log shows "blocked" and no visibility.

what counts as a NPC exactly, do geo's, squill, jinda and so on count?

NPC is a humanoid. Also droids count as an NPC. Anything that can speak some language....basically NOT an animal/creature.
