Ok, here's one that has been bothering me.... I am doing a lair, and Mokks are spwned about 75 meters away, so I am being careful... suddenly, the Mokks aggro on my lair creatures and run over to attack them...I move out of range, equip my VK's, and then move back in to take the mokks out with TK skills... now, the corpses of the Mokks are lieing there... I could loot them to make them disappear, but one only has credits, but the other two has eggs (and I don't really need eggs) so...do these corpses still count as viz giving NPC's? If they are still dead and lieing there, am I still going to get viz from them for re-equipping my saber and finishing my lair?Message Edited by Dlek_Krego on 03-12-2005 04:32 AM
there dead right?? how could they give u vis?? no they do not give u vis.
Logic would dictate that you're right... but, you have to realize that the visibility sytem is programmed to read it's own logic, and that system could see an NPC as a viz generator, whether dead or alive... as long as the body is there, what logic is to say the visibility programming isn't still seeing it as a visibility generator.

Do I get visibility for igniting my sabre in public / around an NPC?
You get 0 (ZERO) vis for igniting without blocking or using any jedi skills.
Do I get visibility for auto-attacking (no specials, just /attack) a target?
You get 0 (ZERO) vis for this.
I'd like to add some corrections. Using /attack with a saber equipped WILL GENERATE VISIBILITY.
Only if the NPC attacks you and you autodefend will no vis be generated.

no two seprate items...
One is already wearing the robe before entering public area which equals NO viz...
the second is the ACT of putting the robes on WHILE in public which equals GETTING viz....

Very nice FAQ. I wrote one up similarly a couple months ago, which can be found here:

VISIBILITY FAQ - VERSION 1.1 - MARCH 12, 2005
Do I get visibility for igniting my sabre in public / around an NPC?
You get 0 (ZERO) vis for igniting without blocking or using any jedi skills.
NOTE: BLOCKING a shot does NOT give you visibility (aka Saber Block). Only FORCE ARMOR does.
Do I get visibility for equipping my Padawan or Knight Robe in public?
You get the same ammount of vis for this as for equipping your sabre.
NOTE: You get 0 visibility for equipping your robe in public (tested thoroughly).
Each of the following Jedi-relation actions has an associated Jedi Visibility Modifier:
-Equipping a Lightsaber.
-Initiating Combat with a Lightsaber equipped.
-Using any Jedi-related skills that consume Force power.
All PCs and all non-animal NPCs that observe a Jedi performing any of the above stated actions (observed as defined as within 32 meters) will contribute to an increase in the Jedi's Visibility Value (JVV).
-An opposing faction member who views this action will add the full value of the action to the Jedi Visibility Value.
-A Neutral PC or non-animal NPC will increase the JVV by 50 percent of the action's Jedi Visibility Modifier.
-A same-faction PC or non-animal NPC will increase the JVV by 25 percent of the action's Jedi Visibility Modifier.
Being grouped with a PC or non-animal NPC who is viewing this action has no influence on how Jedi Visibility is obtained.
