Noone dabbles in powers because of the separate accuracy that is very low and the damage increase for attacks gained for every box. 50 damage per box I believe.Fellow Jedi lets make powers wanted and usable not just for dark jedi but for anyone who wants to dabble in it. As a request, only constructive comments in this thread, make a thread of your own please if you want to flame or troll.I have put much time into this and would like to keep it positive and helpful.Let me know your comments on anything as I will update and edit changes when there is agreement among us.Would also like some feedback from Bac since hes our corrospondent.

Advanced Lightning:Cost 75 force, damage (800-1500) No root or zip bar.Cooldown 1.5seconds.Damage is calculated after the effects of armor and defenses, as I do not know how to calculate the damage before reduction.




Surge of The Force:Cost-150 Force, Duration 30 seconds.The user concentrates and feels a surge in the force in which all force attacks are 25% increased in damage and a 25% increase in Force Regen.Also the user faces a –20% decrease in action and mind regen for that duration.Cooldown- 30 seconds



Cloak:Cost-500 force, Duration-3 minutes.No snare or movement hinderance, any action done breaks cloak such as looting, activating a terminal, or any action on another player.Healing and other actions done on the user will NOT break.The user can choose to attack at any time which will break cloak however will do so at a risk.The cooldown for cloak initiated and once broken is 30 seconds.



Advanced Force Control:Cost-100 force, The user uses the force to control a wild or player owned creature up to level 82 in having it attack one opponent.May instead control several creatures to a combined level no more than 82.[Creature Handlers will have a counter] Cooldown-20 seconds



Force Control:Cost-100 force, The user controls a creature up to level 60 or several creatures up to a combined total level of 60.Cooldown- 20 seconds



Advanced Force Throw:Cost-150 force,User throws surrounding objects at the opponent doing some danage(150-300)and putting a immediate snare for 30 seconds.



Force Throw:Cost-100 force, similar to above but snare is for 15 seconds.



Advanced Force Intimidate:Cost-150 force,causes an opponent’s damage to be reduced by 35%.Duration-1 min. 30 seconds.



Advanced Force Weaken:Cost-50 force, works like a DOT,opponent loses 150 health each tick and having a total of 5 ticks.The user gains 100 health.Cooldown 30 seconds.



Mindblast:Cost 20 force, deals damage to the opponents head and mind. Damage (300-700).Causes the opponent’s mind regen to be reduced by 10% for 10 seconds.Cooldown 1 second.



Force Intimidate:Cost-75 force, causes opponent’s damage to be reduced by 20% for 45 seconds.



Force Weaken:Cost-50 force, opponent loses 100 health and user gains 75 health.Cooldown 30 seconds.



Advanced Force Push:.Cost-150 force, max range 32 m.The opponent is pushed to an additional distance of 30m and is knocked-down.Cooldown 20 seconds.



Advanced Force Pull:Cost-150 Force, max range 32m.An opponent is pulled from a max 32m to a range of 5 m and is knocked-down.Cooldown 20 seconds


Advanced Force Knockdown:Works same as now, area kd.


Force Push: Cost-150 force, max range 32m.The opponent is pushed to an additional distance of 15m.Cooldown 20 seconds.


Force Pull: Cost-150 force, max range 32m.The opponent is pulled from a max range of 32m to a range of 10m.Cooldown 20 seconds.


Advanced Force Hit:Cost 25 force, damage (500-700).Cooldown 1 second.


Animal Calm:Cost 25 force,the user calms a creature in which it loses the agro.



Choke:Will work the same but will cause a root that will end once the ticks are over.To prevent from being overused the root is subject to 75% loss of effectiveness after the 1st is applied for 2 minutes.



Breach:Cost-500 force, This ability has a 40% chance to remove each individual jedi and regular buffs which cannot be reapplied for 15 seconds.Buffs that cannot be removed include foods and doctor buffs.Duelist Stance and Center of Being however can be removed.The User also must use it strategically as It comes with a risk.When Breach is used the user’s own buffs are removed.Cooldown 30 seconds.

I like it, but animal control up to level 82 is kind of a bummer.



I support a rollback and keeping & balancing the old combat system.
...and making SWG a better place to be.

Some very nice work done here... if I may add my own thoughts on powers, being a master powers template myself...


Before I start, I feel I should probably explain to you my vision of Powers, to help you better understand why I want to see the changes I've listed below. Powers should have the ability to be a viable alternative to Lightsabers, as far as damage potential... just a different style of doing so. I see powers as more of a Debuff/DoT style of fighting rather than the one time damage of Lightsabers. In this way, Powers would be a great support class for group pvp/pve and also have the ability to be very worthy of solo pvp/pve.



Force Push &Force Pull: Made available throughout the Psychokenesis branch of Powers.



  • Psychokenesis I: Force Push - Pushes target 10 meters away from his current location

  • Psychokenesis II: Force Pull - Pulls target 10 meters towards your current location, or within melee range

  • Psychokenesis III: Improved Force Push - Pushes target 20 meters away from his current location

  • Psychokenesis IV: Improved Force Pull - Pulls target 20 meters towards your current location, or within melee range

Life Siphon: Made available within the Diminish branch of Powers. Takes health away from target while using the stolen health to cure yourself.



  • Diminish II: Life Siphon - DoT effect to target, each tick of damage caused to target heals yourself for same amount, comparable to Force Infusion.

  • Diminish IV: Improved Life Siphon - Substantial damage to target while healing you, comparable to a heal. (NOT DoT/Infusion effect)

Imporved Force Lightning: Add a short DoT effect after the initial damage, as well as a lightning animation throughout targets body while DoT is active. (Similar to Return of the Jedi when the Emporer used Lightning on Luke... you continued to see the lightning coursing through Luke's body, and it appeared to continually injure him)


Force Weaken: Add a combat speed debuff to this ability as well as keep the snare effect.


Force Cloak: Break cloak down into 3 versions of the ability, assuming that SOE decides to go through with the "cloak nerf"



  • Force Subjagate II: Force Cloak

  • Force Subjagate IV: Improved Force Cloak - reduced snare effect

  • Master Box: Advanced Force Cloak - NO SNARE

Mind Blast: Add one of the following timed effects... And of course make the improved version last longer and/or have a more damaging effect.



  1. A Mind regeneration debuff to target

  2. Decrease total Mind pool of target

  3. 2x the normal Mind cost for any/all abilities/actions

  4. Substantial drop in current mind pool

Force Throw: Should also have a chance to cause a Dizzy and/or Blind effect as well as the current Stun effect


Force Breach: Increase chance to remove buffs and remove between 2 to 5 buffs simultaneously, all Jedi buffs are able to be removed with this ability, including AI


Along with these changes, I'd also like to see the following changes in Powers...



  • Removal of ALL Zipbars for Powers abilities

  • Decreased Force and Action costs for most, if not all, Powers abilities

  • Increased damage potential for most, if not all, Powers abilities

  • Single target version of Powers AoE attacks

  • Powers being a viable alternative to Lightsabers, in more of a Debuff style of play

  • Some type of Innate Defense to Force and/or Energy type attacks (Example: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back - When Han Solo shot at Lord Vader with his blaster pistol in the cloud city, Vader was able to deflect each blaster shot with nothing but the palm of his hand)

  • +Force Speed modifiers placed throughout the branches in Powers

great ideas.



And by definition, all good ideas will be totally ignored.


I've seen thousands of well-thought-out ideas posted on these boards over the last few years.... and the ONE thing they all hav in common is this:



- not a single solitary one has been implemented into the game.



So, in a nutshell, don't waste your time.

would love to see a skill in powers where you can aggro npc and pc players around a bh or other target to attackyour aggresor. sort of like an area mind trick to target a subject. city fights would be interesting....
