Thread: Why go jedi?

Any template with doctor in it can outheal almost any jedi. Any defense template can outtank a jedi. Any rifleman or swordsman can outdamage a jedi.

Why even bother anymore? I spent almost a year (im pre patch jedi) making a jedi toon, wokring hard and spending millions and thousands of game hours making what I hoped was a superior toon. I killed a thousand krayts just to get that one flawless pearl tune for my lightsaber (which I crafted a thousand of as well).

Jedi should be hard work, and rare- and the end result should be a superior PVP toon.

Our end result is that we are cannon fodder content for 12yr old griefers who have anger management issues. It wont take much now for me to send this game to the trash heap. I'm hoping the new FRS- if it ever comes- will restore sanity to the jedi template and PVP.

But I doubt it.

The only reason to go jedi is just to simply say "ya i have a jedi". Those types of people like to be laughed at.

Well enough people complained about how hard it was to get/grind jedi that they have to dumb it down and make it not as strong since more and more people are getting them every day.

Ive found that dedicated gamers tend to do better in combat. Many people fail to learn their template properly and then give it up for something easier, and as a result never get to be a good PVP'r.

The true quality PVP'rs stick with their template and learn to play it properly. Many jedi picked up a load of defender or enhancer in order to be FOTM, and I eat them alive (Im powers/LS) in PVP because they fail to realize its the player not the template.

The problem now however is that ALL the jedi tmeplates have been severely nerfed in comparison to non-jedi toons, thereby gimping most of the dedicated players.

And its the long time dedicated players that run the guilds, have established businesses etc- and are therefore the lifeblood of the game.

this is very true and was and still is being displayed on the TC2 server in ToW.

Jedi was allowed to be gotten off the frog and lots of people who had never taken up powers/saber before tried it out and i fought more than a few of them overt and in private duels. i won every single one of those matches where my template was the same as theirs.

the only difference being i have spent the last year doing my template and theirs was only hours old. having tghe same skills the same gear the same everything and the only difference being experience was the telling factor. none of those fights came even remotely close.

a lot of the people i fought wouldnt beleive i was mpowers mls as it was not in their beleif system taht powers was not a giant suck fest and the only difference was their lack of experience.

it all goes back to chuck yeager's famous qoute: I have flown in just about everything, with all kinds of pilots in all parts of the world - British, French, Pakistani, Iranian, Japanese, Chinese - and there wasn't a dime's worth of difference between any of them except for one unchanging, certain fact: the best, most skillful pilot has the most experience.

They should change it back to "hologrind" would make more and more people stop trying.

The only real reason why one should want to become Jedi is to roleplay it properly for the timeline the game is in.

I'm pretty sure everyone would just go back to finishing all 32 and calling it a day, which is cake except for politian/merchant

i've played this game for about 2 years now. just finally got my jedi. pvp was fun pre cu being why i was lazy and never grinded. i would have got jedi either way. hologrind or village. im on kauri server and there are good jedi and bad jedi. almost all the old jedi that were there before the cu and grinded pre cu when solo grouping was enabled. they still pwn any mbh/mcm. jedi isnt weak you just have to know how to pvp.oh mpowers ls 4040 pwns bh all day.and having a 700 dps saber helps as well.

Jedi is really only one of three things....

1) Content for BHs.
2) For those that prefer to PvP more often than not.
3) Good for roleplaying.

That's about it for now.
