Lets say that my template was Mdef, Healer 4xxx, and Master Pistoleer
Would pistol defense and the melee and range defense stack?
What do you think of this temp?

Not good because 8K energy resist recon armor is better than maser defender armor and you cant slice jedi innate armor to 75% AB resist. The defenses in non jedi can go much higher than master defender too.

but I could still wear the 8k recon armor and get the melee and ranged bonuses from mdef...and still use aura, valor....right?
I'm really just tired of having a "saber" that does really crappy damage........

Jedi can wear armor if theyre certed to wear it, but you cant use any jedi skills and innate armor is gone if you wear other armor.

....I would have the certification from pistoleer, so I don't see why this wouldn't work...(maybe I'm a dummy) When I first started grinding my jedi, I still had master pistoleer, I was able to put my armor on then....why not now? hmmmm

No aura, valor, healing, force run, force speed, innate armor, saber swings, etc.. The only thing you would get are the melee and ranged defenses, force defenses, and state defenses. Which the state defenses wouldnt be bad really, if they worked (im not convinced they do or dont, just saying). And Ill say it again, nonjedi have access to much higher melee and ranged defense and better armor.

you can put your armor on, yes, but not a single force power will work. so whats the point?

A friend of mine did this as a new Jedi.
Carry your armor and pistols with you. Grind with your saber and powers for Jedi xp. you can hotkey your pistols.
when you see a blue dot press your macro to equip armor. and if it a BH ... the BH gets a ugly suprise suddenly In a fight with a Jedi wearing 7k-8k energy resist armor using a kryat/sliced FWG5 and getting shot at not fighting a defensless padawan.
Natrually Id say of corse do you best to keep low on vis but if it happens it happens. this will help avoid the Xp loss.
As a Jedi ....and thankx to SOE that we are not allowed to do content quests with out getting vis... its pretty much a sure thing we all end up on the terms if we do anything other then grind..
anyway getting off subject... you can do this as a defense measure till you eventually drop your pistoleer skills.
so be smart with you leveling up. get trees not tiers... to keep at or near CL 80...
and do your best to keep off terms....
