Thread: If you're full-template, do you still have problems?

I was thinking about something today....it was set off by someone asking why everyone was complaining in this forum. So I began wondering why everyone was so bitter....

I am a full-temp jedi. About the only thing I do is PvP... I grind sometimes when other padawans need assistance. I help withquests when needed, etc but for the most part, I pvp with my fellow rebels.

The only thing I can ever really complain about is when the IMPS gather a gank to completely slaughter us... nothing about MY jedi in particular is game-breaking.

I got irritated over the cool-down exploit but not enough to be enraged by it.. I get irritated when I have to fight a BH b/c he heals more than me; still nothing to enrage me.... i always compliment them on their healing ability.

I thought the snare canceling of FR was stupid but I got over it...it has yet to get me killed...

So I wonder...what makes me different? I have a nice pre-cu saber...its around 693 max, 9FC, 95SAC but i knwo PLENTY of jedi who pvp with 500-600 damage sabers and do fine..

So what gives? Why is everyone so unhappy?

I completely agree. There is no reason for people to be complaining about their jedi, if you cant beat almost any bh that comes after you then you really need to learn how to play your jedi. There has only been one bh that i couldnt beat and all i did was cloaked, yet if i didnt have cloak and had more defender he would have dropped. Just learn to play people and stop whining.

i wish i was like you..

na seriously, nothing is special on jedi, and thats the problem.

Also there are some serious balancing issues if you ask me, and that doesnt hassolely to do with MCM/BH's or BH's with uber weapons and cooldown bypass macros. Ever fought a TKM/MSwordiwith some heal skills in decent armor? Then you know what iam talking about, months and months of work and pissed gffor a virtual pile of crap. In every other Star Wars game you get the oportunity to play a jedi you get 10x times the entertainment compared to a SWG jedi at 1/10000 of the time involving.

I just wanna know why...

I can understand a legacy Master Healer being a little peeved but if i was a MH, i would have re-grinded my temp 3 months ago...

Does it come down to sabers? I know that a lot of new jedi cannot obtain a 700+ dmg saber but i sometimes use my 500 dmg saber and still do ok..

On of my buds started with a 500 pt saber and is now around 700....all with parts obtained post-cu

Happy about my temp/LS and not really bothered about BH but there isnt much to do after full temp so we need the FRS back so we have something to aim for

so in this case, the problem is not jedi or your template, but the inability to create your own content?

Theres nothing to do my friend. Just like you said. "All I really do is PvP with my rebel friends untill the IMPs get a gank squad to slaughter us". Im a full temp jedi and I can barely even find anyone to PvP with. The lack of things to do is a big problem and Im sorry but they need to make everything more dynamic. There should be quests for special skill attachments. And the quest should be HARD!. There should be weapon attachments allowed. Etc. etc. /Sigh If it werent for ToOW there would be nothing worthwhile to do with my jedi and even the loot coming out of ToOW so far isn't great for jedi.

Eked, it's called roleplaying. And yes, I know! Not everyone likes it. But I think too many people treat SWG like a FPS game. It's not. It's an MMORPGAll they want is the next level. Well, I want the next level too but in the mean time I'm very happy to tend to my characters affairs in-game. Let me give you an example. This week I've not had too much play time but what I did manage to do was go hunting around my home planet, visit a POI (not just drive-by and get the badge - actually to there, get off my bike and look around). I also helped someone defeat a nefarious Dark Jedi called Mellichae, moved house and began decorating my new house (involved a trip to the architect, speaking to an artisan and ordering furniture - the usual).

This weekend I'm hoping to go to Mustafar for the first time (in live) and explore the planet, talk to the inhabitants and see if I can help them with anything (as long as in return they help me...). I'm not just going to go there and blast through the quests - anyone can pull down a guide and follow the instructions. I'm going to enjoy it by playing my character as she is to me. I didn't write that Biography for her for nothing. It means something. Her story means something. It's important to me.

So, while I may come to the forums and waffle on or express my dissatisfaction with this or that aspect of the game, content is not an issue. SWG has TONS of content - as good as you can get in an MMORPG. But there's only so much the Devs can do for us.

I enjoy playing "make-believe" - that's why I'm here. SWG just provides the tools.

Va'ain

Urban Dictionary definition of SMED:

"to interfere with one's gaming enjoyment: To drastically alter an item which is enjoyed by thousands."

TO pull a smed. Jeez, those dev's pulled a smed on swg big time

my most recent self-created "content" was to organize my guild into a base take down team and asssist in clearing my planet of IMP bases.... sure, it was specifically jedi-related but it was content. . .
