Thread: Are we playing a Star Wars based MMPROG?
When deactivated, a lightsaber appears as a polished metallic handle, about 30 centimeters long, lined with control studs. At the press of a button the energy contained within is liberated and forms as a shaft of pure energy about a meter long. The saber hums and scintillates with a distinct sound. Its shimmering blade is capable of cutting through almost anything, save for the blade of another lightsaber.
In the hands of a Jedi, a lightsaber is almost unstoppable. It can be used to cut through blast doors or enemies alike. Using the Force, a Jedi can predict and deflect incoming blaster bolts, and reflect them back at the firer.
After the extermination of the Jedi ranks, lightsabers became rare relics. The knowledge of their construction disappeared with their masters. Luke Skywalker, the last of the Jedi, built his own lightsaber as the culmination of his training.
Although use of the lightsaber is strictly reserved to the Jedi -- the only ones capable of handling the difficult weapon -- it is also used by their sworn enemies, the Sith. "
Not arguing with you but this has been brought up many times and you effectively answer yourself - its an MMORPG and was never going to be exact starwars canon. Hell if it was what are we all doing as Jedi (see the line in the paragraph about Luke being the LAST Jedi ?)

About the weapon lightsaber:
"The lightsaber is the weapon of a Jedi, an elegant armament of a more civilized time. In comparison, blasters are crude, inaccurate and loud affairs.(agree this is not accurately shown in game - hell im maxed out on Accuracyand still miss)To carry a lightsaber is an example of incredible skill and confidence, dexterity and attunement to the Force.

sorry but weapons like that wouldn't be fair... in this type of game. There were many other compounds discovered that could resist a lightsaber blade too.... Cortosis for one do more research and you'll find Lightsabers aren't the ULTIMATE weapon ever used in the Star Wars universe that prize would pretty much go to a blaster.... I.E. The Death Star.....don't see many Lightsabers blowing up planets do you? No
Id also like to see a lightsaber deflect a blast from the Death Star.

I felt like a jedi before the combat upgrade and I wasn't even a master in any skill then. Then I could feel like the force ebbed through me now its more of a trickle.

I think Jedis like this are posting drunk off all that whine they ingest. Stop quoting crap and play the game, no-one cares if you can define a lightsaber. Will this ever end?
The only problem with your suggestion, lest you forget. This is a game. Being able to one hit someone may be fun for you when your doing it, but what if it was you on the other end of the LS, getting ganked over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. (Did I emphasize the and over and over and over part well enough?)
The game is designed to be fun. If you made LS so powerful as to one hit, then why not make all blasters just as powerful.... cause lord knows in the movies, many more people were "one hit" and killed by blasters, as compared to LS.
'wars' .. havent seen any of them yet.. a few small skirmishes yes, but wars .. no
'star' .. um seen some tiny painted cubes to fly in, havnt flown to any stars yet tho.. cubes and squaresyes.. stars no
'Square Skirmish ' is what i think were playing, not too sure tho anymore

I think its changed with each new expansion, First it was Empire Divided, not sure how the empire was divided if it was in pieces or squares. Then came Jump to Lightspeed that was soo far the most fun I have ever had since tiefighter. The ground game though became puddle me more, or was that paddle me more I forget bah. Then Came Rage of the Wookies, or "Fly to Guild Wars and enjoy the wookies, and bugs.." Next will be "Burn me Baby, and Suntans or sunburns galore." Its not Star Wars and I think Lucas should pull the license, it hurts their image and they have an image to protect.
:considers leaving the Jedi religion over this.

Cortosis ore is weak and brittle. What is does do is cause some sort of feedback in the lightsaber, thus shutting it off. So instead of managing a cut you just have a weapon that disables itself.
