Ya I agree...you shouldnt be able to wear the padawan robes either. Wookies aren't supposed wear clothes. They are primitive, hair covered creatures and never were meant for jedi. This is just one more thing the Devs messed up. You have to admit, Lucas would see it this way and this is HIS dream.

Now I have heard rumors that some book was made that mentions a wookie jedi in passing, but the fact is it wasnt meant to be.

So lets stop this thread here.

OTHER than the jedi robes you cant wear any other human clothes. These cloaks fall into that catagory, along with the miners necklace, and uniform.

actually wookiees are extremely advanced beings with a strong affinity for technology. Their culture just dictates that they live in their natural surroundings. wookiees are strong, intelligent people who were exploited by the Empire because of their strength and their ability to work with machinery.

I'm never sure why people such as yourself are of that opinion. Im pretty sure that whatever his dream is, its his dream and not yours. If you feel that things should be different, then maybe you should write a letter to LucasArts.

Chewbacca's Nephew, Lowbacca to become a jedi. That this should-not-be Jedi, who was a great friend of the children of Han Solo, and was, incidentally, very good with technological devices, in fact, so good, that he invented a droid that would translate his wookiee-speak into basic so everyone could understand him. Now he was in a bunch of books in the series, Young Jedi Knights, as well as a few others. If you are interested in learning more about this wookiee jedi, I suggest you start there.

Well actually we CAN wear the mining uniform, thats kinda the problem. The art on it is all messed up. When wookiees put it on, our torso, arms and legs become shrunken and its a human body, with a disembodied wookiee head that floats above the body, and wookiee hands and feet. I think what people are concerned about is that we can wear this form fitting body suit, but that we cant wear a loose draping cloak. And to be more accurate, we are not asking to wear the human cloaks, just that we recieve a similarly mod-ed item that is fashioned from wookiee clothing, such as a hood, or a wrap or something. The only reasons we would like a cloak are:

1. they are very Star-Warsy. One of the ways a jedi is usually identifiable is by the trademark cloaks they wear.

2. For the purposes of the game, cloaks allow the character to wear clothing underneath it. The current jedi robes only allow for accessories, such as hats or gloves or belts. With a cloak, you can wear other clothing underneath it such as pants, shirts, boots, and a backpack. These other items of clothing, would increase the number of clothing attachments that a person could use to enhance their abilities. If the wookiees and ithorians are not given the option of such an item, they are at a serious disadvantage compared to the other species.

In addition, it has been mentioned on several other threads regarding this matter than wookiees have other natural strengths that other species do not have, such as an increased health. To set the matter straight, the increase is actually only about 300 units of health. I think most would agree that this is an insignificant amount of extra defence considering that for that increased health we must also have a decreased action and mind regeneration. Personally i would much rather have the extra action and mind regen than the health, since i can increase my health in many ways using food, spice, buffs and crystals.

But I think the important part to remember here is that the cloaks that are looted in the expansion are not related to health issues, its a jedi issue. The ability to wear an item that is not a robe, but a cloak that replaces the robes that we normally wear, so that we can wear other clothing, which allow us to personalize our look with different types and styles, to apply enhancers to our abilities in the form of clothing attachments, and to give us that star wars feeling of belonging to the profession of jedi that we have seen in the movies, the books, games, comics and tv shows that we can experience for ourselves here in the game.

Sorry for being so long winded, but i just found too many things in your post that i disagreed with. I know you are entitled to your opinion, but i hope that what i have said has allowed you to be open-minded and see that things could really use a bit of change.

Hey Rutigrr that was a good post man!

I do agree with trying to make things more star warsy feeling. The books you mention are an off shoot and I believe do not reflect the true direction of Lucas.

*I need to see a wookie in a mining uniform*...but as you see that was not meant to be either. Its doesnt fit and it doesnt fit into the story.

For the star warsy feeling....I never saw a wookie running around the jedi temple with robes or cloaks on, or running around for that matter. They wear no clothes and carry guns or melee weapons. That is what we have seen. Going outside of this makes the game LESS star warsy. Wookies have other clothing they can wear that they can put attachments on to enhance their abilities and dont need the cloak.

Wookies and ithorians and any other race that needs something specific to their race knew that when choosing that race. Its clearly laid out in the manual for the game and if you were too ignorant to read it thats your fault.

Ithorians and wookies get special clothing and bonuses that normal professions do not. I dont think they should be able to wear everything such as factional armor.

When it comes to jedi gear, I think they should have race designed outfits, because padawan robes look silly on them and the cloaks would look even sillier.
