i find that high cl mobs like krayts and NSnow do very high damage even Mdef have problem tanking them.

my questions is does it worth the SP to have both Mdef and improved force armor? do their effects stock?

what does IFA do actually? someone said it adds 40+ inn jedi armor, someone said it reduces 40% damage u take, what is true???

what about force intimidate? does it do gd in reducing damage u taking while tank?

thz for your input

I tried it out and i think aura + force armor is better than mdef and u have more SP left to get some usefull skills

My prefered Jedi template is MLS enhance 3402 heal 4000 def 4040, u have much dmg output and great defense

Try and find out yourself^^

force armor is an active armor which channels some dmg to your force so if you got 10 mobs on you dont expect to last long

Someone explained it to me like this. Now, I don't really know if this is true, but I trusted him.

If you have only 4-4-4-0 Defender, you only have 48% protection.

If you have Master Defender, you have 54% protection.

If you have 4-0-4-0 Defender and 0-4-0-0 Enhancer, you have 56% protection.

And if you have 0-4-0-0 Enhancer, you have 54% protection.

So, based upon those facts, it helped me modify my template. Hopefully it will help you as well.

Dont agree with that:

I have only foce armor and a friend of me is master enhancer and i could say he take more dmg than me

Aura is better than force armor, so i cant agree that only force armor is equal to master def

I wouldn't say Aura is better than Armor, but both are a good combination.

If you have Force Armor and Aura, you would most likely do better than just someone with Armor for defence.

Here is the breakdown. Master Defender on it's own is +70 innate armor, or 7000 armor, or about 53% resists. Improved Force Armor gives you +40 innate. 70 + 40 = 110. Armor for anyone caps at 100, or 10k armor or 60% resists. So you lose out on +10 innate that you get from FA2, already making you think twice wehther it's worth it or not. Second of all, is it worth it to spend all of those skill points for a 7% increase in protection, knowing that armor effectiveness functions on a diminishing returns scale like most other things? You think 7% is a lot, but in the end, it's a very minute difference. Also factor in now that you are losing force due to force armor.

If you want to simply take less damage from creatures or last longer, look to other options first. Do you have doc buffs? Do you have SL buffs? Are you using things like Exo Protein Wafers or Synthsteak (more protection) when times get rough? Are you using stims and ruby bliel if you need to grab a second heal on stims? Spice? Other food? Do you have root/wave/kd to separate mobs further?

Personally I think if you're MDef it's not worth it. Those SP are better spent elsewhere strengthening your template. Getting FA2 with MDef is barely tweaing your defenses...seems like a lot to give up for little gain.

I think it's novice defender and force armor that's equal to Master Def or close to Master Def. Since Most people pick up the aura line Novice Defender's sorta automatic.

thz 4 the fast reply, however, i really want to know is:

what does Improved Force Armor do actually?

i have 50 inn jedi armor already in Mdef. since someone told me Improved Force Armor adds 40+ inn jedi armor, if i have over 50 inn jedi armor from Mdef, will it be 90+ inn jedi armor if they do stock?

Let's not forget all the exta defenses you get from defender too, they still play a huge part. I made the mistake of going from MDef to 4-0-4-0 defender and 3-4-0-2 enhancer and boy was I sorry. My force pool got shredded in any battle longer then a cuple minutes and I still took massive damage. I ground back to MDef and am MUCH happier. My force pool lasts much much much longer and I have more built in defenses.

That is really incorrect. Jedi Initiate gives you +20. 0400 Enhancer gives you +40. 40 and 20 is 60, which is 6000 armor or 48% resists. If you pick up novice defender, that gives you +10 more, which is 70 or 7000 or 53% resists, basically a MDef at that point.

Aura is not necessarily better than force armor. I'm not sure how you compare something that forces misses and slightly mitigates damage vs. something that only mitigates damage.

A few patches after the CU they fixed force armor and made it work differently. What it does now is add directly to your innate armor. Every jedi gets +20 just for being a jedi. Master defenders get an additional +50 for a total of +70. Improved force armor will add the same +50 as defender, but without the defenses and drains your force pool. So it is possible to give yourself 120 innate armor, but it caps at 100 anyways and because of diminishing returns you don't really see much of a difference in damage reduction as you get up really high.

If u are fighting against many mobs then armor costs u much of force but if u only fight agianst one or two mobs aura and armor should be better. So its only a question what u are planning to do...
