From my guide (a bit outdated...but these numbers are right) in my sig:

1000 = 10.5%

2000 = 20.0%

3000 = 28.5%

4000 = 36.0%

5000 = 42.5%

6000 = 48.0%

7000 = 52.5%

8000 = 56.0%

9000 = 58.5%

10000 = 60%

That means if u have def 4040 and enhance 0400 u have 42 + 40 jedi innate armor?

If so u have a protection for more than 56%

If u have mdef u have 70 innate armor so thats only 52,5%

Soundsright Vastin, which is why I don't understand why people don't pick up valor or sap instead of 4000 defender when they have Improved Force Armor. It's not much more armor when you do the math and the force armor will drain you regardless. People say for the melee or ranged defense but 0040 defender throws on 500 which is huge.

Because the Novice Defender box gives you +10, along with the +12 from that line. That is 22 altogether. 22 + 20 (from Initiate) + 40 (from FA2) is 82, or 8200 or 58% resists or so (not going to calculate it). Compare that to just getting FA2 and no Defender. You have 40 (from FA2) + 20 (from Initiate). that is 60 or 6000 or 48% resists. Pretty big difference. Now do the +20 from Defender and assume they get Valor line. 40 (from FA2) + 20 (from Initiate) + 10 (from Nov Defener) is +70 or 53%. Less noticeable this time, however, the person with the +12 will overall should use up slightly less force also since some is being protected by the innate from Defender. That is getting a little complex and I can't verify how that works since I have never been a FA2 user since the changes.

Ok, someone else posted this.If you have 0040 Defender and 0400 Enhancer you havewhat? 7000 armor, which in effect equals 52.5% reduction. Add an extra 12 armor on that from 4000 or 0400 defender and you're at 8200 which is like 57%. 4 full lines for 4.5 % more reduction? I'd much rather have valor and have twice as much block. Most people who get Improved force armor get Force Aura. If they don't they're typically master enhancers.

6000 = 48.0%

7000 = 52.5%

8000 = 56.0%

9000 = 58.5%

10000 = 60%

You said Sap too. I was pointing out that the +10 on top of the +12 was noticeable. Have to read my whole comparisons

Otherwise, yes...it is not that noticeable, then again, slightly less damage and slightly less force use is better for people who want to duel other Jedi than it is to pick up a Valor.

Aura and valor (now possibly the most important jedi skill) are what you need to take with FA2.

With all the roots and snares arround now valor is so important. I never bothered with it before PUb 24 and now its on all the time. It really spoils an opponants long range attacks . Any extra time you get to put something in the LOS of the BH to make him/her come to you is invaluable these days. Valor will give you enough block to stop 5 odd hits getting through. That gives you time to get into a nice position and reduces damage significantly.

I would now use valor before aura . In fact i roll valor now instead of aura and toggle aura when i need it when fighting a BH .

How can you guys even compare the two? I am mdef and my freind is menh with novice defender. Lets go with tanking for spin groups, i take like 86 damage and he takes like 120+ from same creatures. I think what really makes the difference is the defense you get from defender. Mdef isnt as fun to play but boy can we take some licks
