Thread: Saber speed CA's broke

zargon, you are wrong because your scenario defeats the dps stats. average damage per second is an invalid stat at the moment. when the devs admittedly said it was broke pretty much said it all. your modifier is what the average attack should be and most modifier sabersare less than 2 seconds. so how can you say that 2 seconds is the norm when your saber stats plainly show u that its less than that. here's an experiment. macro head hit and leg hit and use lurid mushroom pie and look at your combat log....after that let the pie wear off and do the hits again.....post your results.
Modified saber speed in general is borked. No idea on a Fix ETA.
Ciao,

Ciao,
I've noticied a increase in speed since ToW.
as far as i know its still not working... only the general melee speed works for us.
it sucks seeming all my mods are all in ls speed ![]()
I recently put +25 DB spd into my clothing, and since then (this was patch 24 release), there has been a mod spd increase and a jump in my overall mod dps, from 787.5, to about 816. its not a big increase, but it does seem to work now.
Now all I have to do is start on general spd.....

The numbers do change, but actual combat speed doesn't. That's the bug, and it's not only lightsabers, all speed CAs for all professions are broken. I have a rifleman with +40ish speed in attachments and there's no visible difference with or without it.
well, if you already have a good speed mod from your profession, it's very hard to determine if it works or not, since the known formula shows that's it's only a small increase.
My real TESTS however, shows that there is nothing wrong with lightsaber speed. I timed the swing time on several attacks with both +17 and +87 in speed mod with an LS, and for the +17 my swing time was 3 seconds, for +87 it was 2.1 seconds. Real tests show that saber speed works.
Very well then try this:
Find some low lvl creature, turn timestamp on, and force speed and all combat haste buffs off. Check your modded speed. Mine is 1.57, while base is 2.66.
And start attacking the creature with alternating attacks. According to my timestamp, there is a 2 or 3 seconds delay between 2 attacks. However, according to modded speed there should be only 2 or 1. That means I'm attacking atbase speed... so modded speed doesn't work.. at least for me.

Well the really simple explanation for this is that there is a time delay factor for every special attack. The delay factorsare usually in the vicinity of 1.5. That gives 1.5*1.57 = 2.36.
It's funny, because your argument seems to be the most common among the people who still think speed is broken. But all the time pre-cu, every special had a delay, how hard can it be to understand that even after the CU all specials have delays?
