The numbers do change, but actual combat speed doesn't. That's the bug, and it's not only lightsabers, all speed CAs for all professions are broken. I have a rifleman with +40ish speed in attachments and there's no visible difference with or without it.

My rifleman has some strange things happen with speed. I got +20something in speed CAs and AAs on him. Sometimes he fires slow, others it's like his pants are on fire. Maybe it's not completely broke, but just not working very often??

I get that too sometimes but then I look at the combat spam and realise it's just an illusion Seriously, try getting a doc buff, which adds +25 something. Wether it's general speed, a percentage, whatever it is, it's still lower than my mods added up, yet I fire that riflelike a freak with the buff on. Even something lower, such as the +10rifle speed stim (metacarpal something) will make a visible difference. I don't deny it might be intended to work this way, maybe they coded it so attachments don't count like anything else, but it'd be nice to know considering, atleast, that on my server jedi speed attachies sell for 2+ mil per point.

Doc buff has nothing to do with general ranged speed or any speed mod it's a 25 combat haste mod which reduces your cooldown/warmup timers

I recently put +25 DB spd into my clothing, and since then (this was patch 24 release), there has been a mod spd increase and a jump in my overall mod dps, from 787.5, to about 816. its not a big increase, but it does seem to work now.

Now all I have to do is start on general spd.....

well, if you already have a good speed mod from your profession, it's very hard to determine if it works or not, since the known formula shows that's it's only a small increase.

My real TESTS however, shows that there is nothing wrong with lightsaber speed. I timed the swing time on several attacks with both +17 and +87 in speed mod with an LS, and for the +17 my swing time was 3 seconds, for +87 it was 2.1 seconds. Real tests show that saber speed works.

If it isn't broken why did a Dev confirm that it is broken then?

probably due to the fact that everyone thinks hes the onlyone that has the real answer,...all i say is my speed is same for doublebladed as well as for twohanded ls..eventhough i have twohanded capped and doublebladed not..probably its not working,...as even the devs state

forgot to add:

do you guys really thinks this is working when 80% of the other things arent working either??

Combat haste affects both cooldown/warmup timers and your the speed at which you attack. Case in point, my Jedi hits every 3 seconds without a doc buff or speed 2. With either of those I can hit once every 2 seconds.

Test it, it's one of the reasons why the devs nerfed the ability to stack Forcespeed/Doc buffs (not to mention reducing the buffs themselves at the same time). Before the change I could hit once a second on my Jedi using a 700+ saber, this is including the speed bug that we have been living with since the CURB.

Well, I did read thunderhearts post and he didn't say anything about the saber speed mod being broken. He said It is a known issue... But what exactly he referred to as It is very vague. Personally I think he meant the exploit with using the same attack over again faster than what should be possible.

Also, at the end of the day, they have made misstakes before, they are not all-knowing. Neither am I of course, but I have yet to find anyone who can say what I did wrong in my tests, which I posted here. And my many tests all showed that saber speed works.

That is a good point. To be honest I wish a lot more people actually could concede to the possiblity of other people being right. Look at the data presented and draw your conclusions from that, not from hearsay or "I don't feel it works..."

I have been claiming for a month now that modded saber speed works, when more than 90 % of the population thinks it's broken. I do this not because I'm stupidly stubborn, I do it because notonce has anyone produced real tests that proves otherwise.

read my posts... 2 seconds is what you are supposed to get when it is working. If you are using an advanced attack such as headhit/leghit you get a time delay factor. It's always been like that...

I'm not attacking any faster as a lighsaber master than I was attacking as paddy. (when i got 2 specials to alternate so basicly at ls 0102). I don't think that's intended.

I've noticied a increase in speed since ToW.

Not being annoying or anything but I kinda have the feeling my speed has decreased
