Thread: PreCU: For those who remember and those who don't.
Example: One has someone saying, "someday this server will be overrun with Jedi"

Pre-cu it was all about powerhammers, swords, composite armor and mindfire. Seeing starwars-like armor and weapons was rare. The icons was generic white icons that couldnt have taken more than two days to paint, nothing starwars about them. We even have a Jedi in composite armor here.

Wish they would just have 1 pre-cu server but im sure it would be even more crowded than bria

Wow, you've talked to the entire playerbase? How else could you know you speak for 90% of the population...
The combat system worked for a minority of the professions. Speak to a pre-CU carbiner if you can find one... or a pistoleer, or a smuggler. No armor piercing meant you were worthless in PvE, no mind damage meant you were worthless in PvP.

I would add combatmedics and pikemen to that list. Doctors as well, if you go by the people who where doctor to heal people, not earn quick money with buffs. And Creature Handlers is also pretty fun now, and Squad Leader. Commando is almost there.

i know plenty of carbineers pre CU... and as for the mind damage... sure because there was a mind limit set from the games release.... they had intended it that way from the begining... and people figured it out what else is new. i know i speak for 90% cuz common sense tells me so. true common sense isn't common so im not blaming you for not having any but cmon r u trying to say that u couldn't think of a better way to change or balance combat aside from coming up with the CU? an easier way would be since buffs were set to cap at a certain amount why not lower it to equal the amount of mind buffs... then add a heal to mind.... along with that why not cap the amount that could have been stat migrated to a lower amount say... 400-500 that way most people would have same H.A.M
people addapt to games, this CU was not an upgrade but a way to dumb the game down... not for kids but for DEVs with a lack of brain power to THINK of a way to adjust the game so that it would :
1) fir the star wars saga
2) be playable
3) be fun for subscribers
4) reduce FOTM players
5) keep a base for improvement that needs minor changes to evolve with players in a "rules" system
6) have a game that can produce content through change to stimulate gameplay/subscriptions/upgrades to service (rather than closing a san diego office to open a thialand one at lower cost)

ahh you know how that could have been fixed? put in a carbine and pistol with decent armor piercing. Scale the composite stats back a bit, introduce a mind stim to heal mind so you wont need any mind hits. That fix your problem there?
See that didnt require a whole retardation of the game.
