Thread: My take on this pearl issue

To actually find a +25 sea was a golden moment let alone one that would benifit Jedi, to be able to use a 3rd or 4th gen saber for the grind would have been stellar, to grind in a group setting simply god (or allah) sent.
So suck it up a bit, go and grind Krayts and sisters.

I've been making this argument and for some reason people don't listen. Pearls did not grow on trees at all except for that brief time of the Krayt boom..... then it was intentionally bugged where no pearls dropped. Aftermuch whining that no pearls were droppingthey fixed it and allowed us to loot them for a short time again before the ultimate nerf came, the CURB.
As you said, it was utter hell to find a spawn. When you did you had to put up with steal killers, ninja looters......nothing like spending 3 hrs to find one spawn and have a group of 15 come up on you to take your spawn. It sucked big time, mainly because the spawns were very rare and the drop rate sucked because of it. Pearls were 4-6 mill per back then, with adjusted inflation I'm really not surprised they go for 20 mill now. Please also remember these Krayts had 400k+ ham, that is 6X as hard to kill compared to today.

Fact of the matter is, they are not dropping premiums/flawless period now.I mean if it was as hard to get as a jetpack, atleast it would have some way of getting in the game. Instead there is noting

You forgot to add that there were no ADKs and you had to keep looting to USE your saber. There was a couple times where I actualy lost a crystal in battle and had my saber stop functioning. ( post pub 10 ...I mean )
The fact is --- it really isnt any harder now then it was prior to the Krayt pop explosion -- until the cu all of the color crystals on the sever didnt do you any good.
Yah before ADK's was a **Mod Bot - Be Nice** -- I had a buddy (long before Iwas Jedi) that had a near perfect crystal crack , he nearly cried and didn't play much after that

I agree with you about people need to understand it wasn't easy as pie like grinding their Jedi lol but I do admit devs need to make some spawns (make them rare like Krayts were back when I was looking for pearls) that give a chance to drop them. Either that or a long quest not repeatable for X amount of time.
thats all great and everything....we dont want them handed to us...we want a CHANCE...let me repeat CHANCE at getting a prem or flawless.....we dont even have that..there completely gone...i'd be glad to work at getting them....if only WE COULD GET THEM! Enuff said....i just want a chance to loot prems and flawless like u had pre-cu

Man what a bunch of horse #$(@. I was a Krayt Killer for about4 months after I unlocked in May 04changed templates and then back to a Krayt Killer 2 months before the Krayt Boom and for 2 months after the Krayt Boom.... There was nothing wrong with the Krayt population before the Krayt Boom, you just needed to know where to look and how to increase the chances of them spawning.
For instance before the Krayt Boom there were approximately 15 spawn spots where Krayts normally spawned. I had these areas waypointed for months and would drive from WP to WP and normally would find 2- 4 spawns of them. In the unlikely instance if I found no Krayts, I would clear a WP and move to the next and clear that WP of mobs and move to the next... rinse and repeat for 5 or 6 WP's. Then go back to the first and search again. Usually at least one would have a Krayt spawn.
Krayt HAM... again another joke. Krayts like everything else in SWG pre-CU and post-CU is easy to farm if you know what you are doing.... even solo. Canyon Krayts and Juvies were the easiest and I had a looping macro going that would kill off a Canyon Krayt with up to 375K HAM in approximately 9 mins fully AFK. Giant Krayts were abit tougher with their KD, but again the KD wasn't too much of a problem if you knew how to shake it off without the fall down, get up, fall down that we usually saw happening when trying to use the /stand command. Again I had a hotkey setup with a list of attacks/heals/intimates to deal with Giant Krayts. Another kill that usually only took 11mins.
All in all, farming Krayts of any level (other than Ancients) was about as easy as going out and finding a gubber if you knew where to look. In total I farmed just over 100 premium pearls and approximately 30 quality pearls. I went through 3/4's of a crate of 80% composite armor for each section of head, chest, legs, boots and hands which only cost me 2 million to have made. The template I used was originally TKM, Commando 0040, Medic 3040 and the second time I was Mswords, Commando 0040 and Medic 3040.
Farming Krayts before the Krayt Boom was easy, after the Boom it was cake.
