Thread: Isn't it time we had lightsaber damage increase ?

With these new weapons combat is going to be unbalanced.


I think it time our min-max damage was upped to bring some balance to the game.

Over 340 base DPS, damn right saber damage should be increased and not by us all running round with a stupid lava looking lightsaber blade. Back when we first got told we would be doing elemental damage it was a dumb idea and made it look like EQ in space. Now they have taken it even further and instead of a lightsaber we get a flaming long sword +1.

We do not need more damage right now. We need an increase in skills first which allow for counters.

we need more cowbell.


the biggest problem with the jedi proffession is that we don't have enough cowbell.

every profession except jedi can get a weapon that does around 500-1000 damage give or take 50 damage min/max and a sac of 90 or less and modified speed of 1.3 or less now what about jedi what is the best possible uber saber ever. someone tell me the best saber they've ever heard of and compare it to the basic weapon ive described and tell me its balanced.

Well get rid of pearls/ crystals keep color ones and just make lightsabers crafted w/ no bonus's from pearls/crystals so all jedi are fair.

I'm not so sure we need a damage increase. What needs to happen is:
  • Premium/Flawless Pearls need to start dropping again.
  • Our lightsaber speed bug needs to get fixed.

    Once these two items are taken care of, I think Jedi as a whole will be fine, damage-wise. Consider that my lightsaber is around 730 damage and 1.24 speed (704 DPS or so if I recall). That is over 250 DPS better than my Rifleman/BH with maxed out skill tapes. I think the issue is we're not hitting as often as we probably should. I also believe our damage multipliers are higher than that of many other skills from experiences I've had using multiple BH/ templates.

    Ugh. All LS the same? All Mark 2 e11 carbines are not created equal...


    More saber damage will come with premium pearls. Ask a pre-cu jediwith Master Lightsaber if he thinks he hits hard enough. For added amusement, see how hard he hits with power attack, after recieving Squad Leader buffs. Last night, on Lowca, that single hit was for 2500 points.

    Im a pre-9 jedi (long time before CU)


    I have a 744 max damage 10 FC saber and I DONT hit hard enough!!!


    I was out loot mondering with a guild mate and hes a MBH/M-riflemen and we were killing CL 87-92 NPC's at a imp SF detachment HQ trying to get high end loot.


    Here is what the combat spam looked like on a CL 92 dark trooper


    You do improved armorbreak
    you do saberthrow and KD your target (ya i know it dont say that but you know lol)
    You do improved power attack for 1300 (1080 enegy 220 heat) out of a possibe 2000
    Robert-e does advanced criticle hit with his ADK'd ADV. laser rifle 1184 max damage 82 SAC (with a damage pup its like 1310 max damage) and hits for 1950 points of damage (1950 energy) out of a possible 2800
    Keep in mind this is NOT his most powerfull attack, could you imagine if he did sniper shot? (this is before patch 24 so NO SL buffs were here)


    I dunno about you but this was a AB/kd CL 92 mob and he hit for almost 2k TRUE damage!!! i did 1300!!!
    I am a JEDI!!! I should slice him up and "Should" do more damage then a CL 54 non-cirt rifle


    Balanced my butt!!!
    Let them hit that hard, I dont care, but let me hit at LEAST that hard!!!
    Shot for shot he hit harder and just as fast!!, his head hits were still alot more then my power attack!!!
    When the mob was standing I was hitting for like 944ish on the same mob he was around 1100 head hits and 12-1300 adv.criticle


    Very very sad if you ask me...
    744 max BAH!!! I spit on you!!! /spit.
    We should be like 900-1000 max for uber sabers 7-800 for low end.
