Thread: This statement from soe is almost laughable...

My point was that using your own product does NOT ensure that you know all the uses that product will have once it is in someone elses hands. And someone coming up with something you didn't think of is not proff you didn't use it yourself.Not disagreeing with you there...but as you said above they have a very large forum andtest center server that should be serving that purpose...but they do not use it efficiently or at all....
No they are not but I suspect that is a corporate decision and not a local one. Ever developer I have ever talked to with SWG has been knowledgeable and passionate about this game. The desire is there. They are bright folks. The disconnect is in the execution and I think there is a cost factor being applied above the judgement of the professionals involved.

Cloak is anfirst strike component....lol...well every proffesion but jedi has a firststrike...bh/smugglers have last ditch, bh have under handed, cm's have paralyze.....what are you callinga firststrike with our gimped sabers? You are pretty much insisting that you cloak while all the time are loosing force then uncloaking, strike, and then have no way out of the fight. Power attack maybe is what you are calling a first strike?...lol, with the warm up the guy could be half way across the planet before it lands....the other strikes will just give them a warning that a mosquito just bit them...If you are going to take this away because of whining bh who yell "cloak and run away" got there way, then give us either pearls or a realfirst strike hit. Anything less than that is just more proof that soe is screwing up jedi and is making it impossible to play to reduce numbers.

Last Ditch and Paralyze are NOT alpha strike commands.

so you are saying that bh dont use last ditch as their first shot? you are sadly mistaken. bh will hit you with anything hard their first shot no matter their secondary proffesion. we are the ones constantly on thedefensive during a fight. we win fights because the bh are not fighting the way they should....come across an experienced bh and you will die every time. I have been lucky, have fought 16 fights post cu and won all of them except one. I lost that one becuase of a stuck macro that drained my mind. But, out of the 15, 8 didnt know what they were doing and the other 7 fights were way to close for us to be 1.5 times stronger. If the bh had hung on just a few minutes more my record would be worse.

Considering that Last Ditch only does significant damage if youe health pool is very low, I don't think anyone could consider it a "First Strike" attack.
Unless you typically start a fight with only 10% health.

then you havent fought a bh/smuggler.. i have fought 3 and that was the first shot from each of them...i dont know what server you are on but on ours they come loaded for bear.

It would seem to me that other than pvp, Jedi are the target dummies for the galaxy. I'd love to see something like bh's gaining visibility. Or Jedi revenge missions. Ah! To dream alas to dream! lol

I agree, Powers really needs a better alpha strike than choke, that can be applied anywhere from 32ms,they need something upclose and personal but even powerhit is worthless without armorbreak and armorbreak will drop cloak, so.. -shrug- guess you're supposed to wait around for overts to fight then your "alpha" strike is actually supposed to be a skilless /deathblow or final hit that finishes someone that another player has already almost beaten heh...

just remove forced pvp. let jedi go sf if they want to be on the terms and pvp.

If a BH opens with Last Ditch, they should be thrown into the Krayt Graveyard naked and with a survival knife, and not be allowed to leave until they solo an Ancient. First Strike is the ability to attack first. Every BH has that against their marks. Cloak gives us the ability to first strike. When I had it, I would cloak when a BH came for me everytime, just to have that ability.

I know what you are talking about but it doesn't make it an alpha strike attack. Just because someone uses it first doesn't make it an alpha strike ability. I lead off with critical shot most of the time..that doesn't make it any more of an alpha strike than if I lead off with headshot.
The fact that you can get your health really low and use last ditch in an attempt to kill your target with one shot is not an alpha strike attack it is an attempt to exploit the game system in a way that wasn't intended.

just remove forced pvp. let jedi go sf if they want to be on the terms and pvp.
if you want force pvp removed go into your skill windows, drop everything related to jedi, grind up a Mpike/doc 4004/whatever else template and go pve till the cows come home.
