8 hours a day is a lot, most of us have work or school that takes up 8 hours then we have stuff to do at home so in the year i usual have about 2-3 hours to play but maybe in the summer you could do that with concentration. I'm an old veteran from the mysterious no-jedi-at-all days too but i grinded pre-cu for3 months doing NOTHING but grinding and grinding for 2 hours a day...andi didn't unlock until the CU when jedi became weaker then my pre-cu commando. I didn't choose for jedi to be that weak and I didn't choose that it would be like this grinding. i do think jedi should have been taken out of the GCW, that was the solution... it's not fun to see a reb jedi kill an atst a second while your imperial and watching as the live GCW turns to a jedi's atst owning contest but because of this and not the post-cu jedi thatall jedi suffer andpost-cu jedi suffer without decent sabers. So it's a sad site for jedi at max level to be so weak and i would have grinded the old way with getting a full template jedi if it was better. (probably not grinding holos cause i don't think i'm that lucky lol i might have unlocked at proffession 32)

School, work, family.

I cannot grind 8 hours, its impossible, getting a good group isnt super easy at times.

Kudos you grinded a fulll temp in 30 days mine take 5 months cause i dont have the time.

cry me a river. I have the same and it took me over a year to grind jedi pre-cu and I never complained. I wish my jedi grind only took 5 months...

Whose complaining about the current jedi grind? Post CU jedi suck cause they are forced to kill about 300 kryat dragons (which you cant solo anymore)to get one 90/90 -4 pearl. Jedi is currently a complete waste of time to get. Pre CU your long grind which didnt take a year for most people, more like 2-3 months had a reward at the end.

I have 2 jedi. Yeah 2.

One i have unlocked prepub 9.....was hard to grind and hard to unlock...but really rewarding in the end!

The second i have unlocked 30 days ago and now i already have a FULL TEMP JEDI....so what remains of the jedi profession? For the power grinders this is true. I unlocked about 2-3 months ago, my guild leader unlocked after me and hit full temp in about 3 weeks. So I understand what you mean on this.

Its power? No not really...jedi are not that powerful believe me. Jedi are definately not what they once were, I remember those days. Jedi were god's on earth, that was a bit too powerful. A middleground should be possible... maybe.

Its coolness? Well, if you need to have a jedi in SWG to feel cool........you have some problems Agreed

Its exclusivity? No more......as you can see i grinded a full temp jedi in 30 days...chatting with 8/10 other jedi...smashing lairs without thinking. When they let everyone know how to unlock and began the hologrind that was the beginning of the end. Then the village changes... just wrong. So, the community begged for it, now they complain there's too many Jedi... damned if you do, damned if you don't. I liked it best when there were maybe 20 Jedi total across all galaxies and people had a million ideas on what the magic key was. At least people were thinking outside the box then instead of this "grind" mentality that Jedi has become.

Where is the old good SOLO grind on Endor ? I tried this when I unlocked. With CL's in the game it's not really an option. I got killed A LOT trying to solo grind endor. Kinda sad imho.

Where is thatunique feelinginspired by the fact that you were fighting in an hostile planet on your own? Due to the "group" mentality that CU and other changes have caused we don't have this as an option anymore.

Where is that sense of risk that made the grind exciting? Well, we still have exp loss but perma-death had to go as soon as main toons became the Jedi toon. Now, I still avoid visibility but since the GCW went the way of the Dodo all that is left is BH vs Jedi... which is not what Star Wars was about.

Where is the adrenaline given by a dot appearing on your radar? I still stop drop and roll when I see an unknown DOT but for me it's just the way I play.

No more emotions in being jedi, no more passion.............no more moral reward. For me, this is all in my playstyle. I enjoy being Jedi, I try to conduct myself appropriately in my time online. I get the moral reward by not being an @$$hat in front of starports or rubbing it in peoples faces that I have a glowstick.

Because back in the days creating a jedi and grinding it out till full was the proof of your victory against the game itself, now its a mere extra pg that requires no effort. Effort.... maybe not, hours of grinding mindlessly on Piket Lairs and the occasional BH distraction.. thats Jedi now.

Unlocking my second jedi gave me some emotion......then i realized how easy was to grind and how common was the process.......no more hiding, no more risk...no more EMOTIONS. This is all Dev response to the communities screaming requests, I blame them both equally.

I hope SOE will nerf these spin groups so all of you new padawans can experience what being a Jedi really means.

(I hope they make that a possible solution. IMHO, that means changing the way CL's work. That means making it so it's POSSIBLE to solo on Endor or out in the wilds again. Jedi was able to be self sufficient back then, now padawans aren't powerful enough to do that anymore with our nerf'ed sabers low cl's and weak defenses. I rather be out in the wilds running Blurgg Raptor missions, unfortunately at CL73 I cannot solo CL70 Blurgg Missions due to the many "balances" Jedi have had.

I would love to go back to the old days, but it's not going to happen. I was looking forward to hiding out and grinding solo through the wilds. But now.. it just doesn't work that way. It's not our fault as Padawans. We didn't make this new system. I wish it would revert back and our power was brought back up a bit. But a wish in one hand and SOE in the other... well y'know...)

I dont think this game will be the new KOTOR in the future.

I am not angry for that.

I am angry with the new system because it does not give the right "emotional" reward for being a jedi...

There is no fear, there is power.

There is no weakness, there is the Dark Side. I am the Heart of Darkness.
I know no fear, but rather I instil it in my enemies. I am the destroyer of worlds.

BTW, I am a day 3 vet with 3 accounts now. I agree with much of what you're saying. I wish I could have been a Jedi pre-pub 9 but I wasn't willing to drop what my character was to grind out 32 professions either. IMHO thats just as bad as the Rryatt trail afk'ers. I wanted my toon to become Jedi "through natural gameplay" as was originally promised. Hologrinders were scum that destroyed every other prof in order to reach their Jedi aspirations and could care less about the players who actiually enjoyed those profs.

These were the people that paved the way for these "new" jedi by afk macroing through half the professions in the game and then Fight Clubbing their way into the FRS system. So don't forget that the old system had it's fair share of problems too. When people would set up their BH alt's with afk macro's so they could kill them over and over again for FRS. Is that something you want to see come back too?

Listen, both systems are flawed, IMHO, a new system needs to take that into account. Originally we all thought we'd have to complete rare NPC quests hidden all over the galaxy. We thought we had to live in player cities, participate in events, solve actual riddles that changed through out the game. We thought it wasn't a mysterious checklist as much as it was "playing as a Jedi" that would eventually open the path. Where your behavior would unlock the slot as opposed to your ability to macro through 32 professions or wait through 3 months of gated missions....

Don't talk to me about the "good old days", they weren't that good and those are the Jedi that got us nerfed over and over again by "pwning" every overt to cross their path.

Pre-pub 9

I completed every NPC quest on Tat, Dant, Dath and Talus, and was almost done with Corellia.

I had done every themepark an Imperial could

I helped numerous newbies get established.

Lived in one of the first Player cities on Ahazi till hologrinding killed it dead.

Was in the same guild since around launch.

Had homes on 4 planets.

Searched out the only 2 working hero of Tat quests.

went to every "unlisted at the time" POI I could find. (Like the smoking house on Talus, the Flaming pillars of Corellia.. etc..

The day that people found out they only had to grind through professions to unlock was the day Jedi began to Die.

I would just tell you to STF_U but I am in a rather gentle mood atm...so I'm not gonna troll

Back in the day,you would grind hard and it'd be exciting, difficult and more 'exile' which is the true feeling of being a Jedi in the era game takes place...BUT...you would be rewarded so well you would forever love what you got...now,you get a profession weaker than any regulr prof template...so why should it be a hard grind anyway?

Makes sense to me...

Give me the power I am supposed to have and I will gladly spend 3-4 months grinding...

I feel the exact same way as you.

I too just unlocked a second AND third jedi, did have a sense of accomplishment, then realized that the jedi grind is faster than the FS grind now.

I miss the 9 hour days ALONE on dant, the threat of walking into the MO with my saber equipped (before MLS of course), and the overall solitude that grinding a jedi brought.

If you ask me, they need to make it so jedi in a group do not gain XP, but at the same time give jedi an extreme PvE multiplyer, bring back the solo grind, it was so much better.
