There is no lie in this statement. Of course a lvl 80 jedi player will be more powerful than a lvl 1 force sensitive. Too bad that a lvl 1 trader could kill a lvl 80 rancor on Dathomir, and more than likely kill the lvl 80 jedi as well unless the jedi decides to pull his rifle out and start shooting back. I plan to be a jedi with a rifle and 2 ranged arms. Only if something gets close enough to me on its will do I choose to use a saber.

The guys either a lying piece of cr*p or his totally ignorant of this game. And I think we all know that the PS3 version of this game is hitting the stores for christmas. Going to have to take the 12+ age tag off though.

Here's the text of the email I sent the editor:
RE: John Smedley's Interview,
As a player of SWG, and the owner of a Jedi account, I can assure you, that the forums are indeed in an uproar. Many believe that the majority of what Smedley has stated in this interview is patently false. If anyone from IGN would bother to read the SWG forums, they would themselves see that there is no trust in SOE or Smedley by the player base.
This "NGE" as it is being called, is by many on the forums being called the "FU2", as it feels this is what SOE is telling us. We feel that our loyalty is being cast aside in favour of courting those who play other games in an effort to make more money. It is easy to see that no one person on the forums asked for a new interface and certainly never called for 2/3 of the professions to be deleted.
Also, to pull this out of the hat shortly after the release of the new expansion and to hype items that will never realize their full potential (CH necklace),is nohtnig short of dastardly. They knew full well if this NGE was revealed prior to the release of ToOW, many would not bother to purchase it, especially thos who were CH's. So this knowledge was withheld to maximize profits of those seeking enhancements to their professions that would only be in game for 2 weeks. Sad, truly sad.
But please, send a representative to the SWG forums. Read for yourself what is being posted there. Don't just take Smedley's word for it.
Respectively,

Smedley BSing the Press
Well I emailed the Editor clearly expressing my EDUCATED rebuttal of Smedley's lies and misdirection to the press!
My profession(s) are being purged and my year and a half of playing has been all for not as far as a fair implementation into the NGE.
BUT I STILL GAVE IT A CHANCE AND PLAYED IT IN TEST CENTER FOR MORE HOURS THAN THE AVERAGE PLAYER PUTS INTO A FULL WEEK OF GAMING. Truth is it starts to hook you in fast then loses you before you are even out of the tutorial. Shamefullyonce out of the tutorial you realize how poor this whole thing really is.................................................................ACK
