Ok, you are right. I based this on info from the force armor thread and the tester in there had an extra +10 innate armor due to defender. Improved Force Armor boosts innate armor by +40 (or 4000 armor) which would give a non-defender a total of 6000. I'll correct the original post.

I wish I could test FA2 & the new powers costs now!

Unless there's been a change I missed .....


Based on the latest results, force armor costs 150 to apply and acts like 7000 armor. It absorbs about 53.3% of the damage, and about 12.4% of the damage is actually force cost. Still high but much better than it was in post-CU, pre-pub 19.


FA2 gives +4000 armour? Adding to the 2000 for Initiate = 6000 total.

This post inspired me to take a similiar template. Thank you very much for posting this guide, it's really insightful, and a great alternative to the MLS/MDefender grind.

Trust me, I wish JK status on live would give me some Jedi skills on TC-Ahazi to do some testing myself. I am missing a lot of hard data for this post and few wielders/enhancers seem available/willing to test to get hard numbers.

Yup, and hopefully the missing "reduction of 50% force cost for powers" is just an omission in the patch notes, and not a last minute nerf... stay tuned!

Thank you. I enjoyed writing it and I plan on keeping it current based on Publish 19 results from live and future updates too. I'll probably add a tactics section in the near future too.
I also agree we need more posts like this. I suggested to Baciacca yesterday that we create a new sticky thread for people to post template guides like mine, but for other templates. Since Bac is probably swamped, I'll probably create the thread myself and ask him if he can sticky it.

Thanks. Force Witch huh? I guess I never thought of that. This would really be a proper title for a female dark Jedi with this template. The problem is "witch" in SWG is often associated with "Nightsisters", and I would see a NS as a MPowers/MPikeman combo with other skills like defender and such. I'll probably add a section of alternate names people use for this template. Thanks for the idea.

Probably the most constructive/best post I've ever seen on this board... and I've been around since day 1. The highlighting of the text was nice, allowed me to skim much of it at a very high speed while getting most of the important information... out of 5, you get 300 stars. Good job.

I like this alot, but I was just playing around with a char builder how would this template be? 0404 LS Mpowers 2000 healer 3304 enhancer

Mmmmmh, very fragile template since you do not have improved force armor. Your heals probably would not be able to keep up either since we have a longer cooldown now, and you would do nothing but heal.


I know it's hard to let go of the lightsaber, but in my opinion, you have to if you really want to use powers properly and have the support skills for it. Your lightsaber skills would not be good enough to kill fast and your low defense/low healing would put you at a disadvantage, which means you would rarely get the upper hand, and without stasis and force run 2, it would be ahrd to escape, which means dying a lot. As a big dabbler with a lot of missing full lines, you would also have a much lower force pool, which is not good when you rely on powers, and use force armor for your main defense.


If you insist on playing this because it's what you like, then at least go enhancer 3403 insead, you can sacrifice meditation to get better defenses. And unless you really plan on using your LS as your main weapon (in which case i would ask, why MPowers?) then you can drop LS to 0402 and get healer 4000 instead.


Final template would be: MPowers, LS 0402, Healer 4000 and Enhancer 3403.
