No

I've been playing the same toon on the same server for over a year and a half. I started the game with the sole objective of having a wookiee dark jedi, and as soon as FRS comes back out, im so there.

Everyone can be a jedi or nonone can be a jedi.

Think about why they made the path to jedi known by putting holocrons in the game.(the game would have probably died really fast if they didn't)

Exactly.

what a waste. We have seen time and time again that all it would do is result in many doing the grind over again and there would be even more jedi. This would not fix what the problem is and would only server to make it worse in the long run. I would not give up my jedi for this idea because the idea will not solve anything, and will only result in 100% of the current jedi ad 50% of the non-jedi being jedi in another year.

How do you figure?I said making it rare. I also said 85% of Jedi on all servers wouldnt see Jedi EVER again.

I respect the No answer but give it the full read before saying no by simply reading the subject line.

Do not assume that because I disagree with you that I did not read. You do not realize that the average powergamer will do all they can to be a jedi. You would be a fool to think that 100% of the current jedi population would not figure out how to do it and race to get there. Would you cap it? Watch how many leave if you did. Suddenly, that 15% left would be the same % we are seeing now as 85% of the population left. You are the one that needs to take human nature into account.

I have, and I do take human nature into account. Dangle the carrot and no matter how rare or remote the chance of getting Jedi is, people will stay and people will try.

Like I said in another post, you have a 1 in 10 million chance on winning the lottery and most people play anyway.

The cap couldnt be a hard cap. It would be like the little red light on the parkways that control the entrance ramps. Only one car per 30 seconds is allowed to avoid congestion.

Maybe 5 Jedi would be allowed to unlock every month. IT COULD BE YOU!!! That is why you will continue to play and THAT is human nature.

Then you are clearly not taking human nature into account. A vast majority of humans will not and do not gamble or play the lotto. I for one would pack up and leave if they did as you suggest, and I can tell you 90% of the current members in my guild of about 100 would leave as well. Most of them are veteran players...many here since launch. The jedi is a reward to them for their length of time in this game. Tkaing it a way and giving them a lotto ticket would be a slap in the face.

holocrons were a mistake (I might not of unlocked if they didn't put them in to be honest lol)

They sure were. They were the first mistake in a long list of mistakes. After the Holo's it went all downhill along with the subscribers. Ironic isnt it? They made Jedi easy as pie to get and now they have less subscribers than they had when no one knew how to become Jedi. Hmmmmmmmmmm...

I would only delete my jedi, if the path to jedi involved strict roleplaying among other things.

Doesn't surprise me in the least that these people can't see past themselves for the betterment of the rest of the game.

i would. but on conditions.

This is never going to happen but i would just like to throw it out there to see what you all think...

1. Jedi is back to being uber powerfull, cause well, they are supposed to be.

2. Jedi remain a playable character.

3. The guide to unlock to Glowy changes monthly (except the grind way. thoses guys deserve it), and if there are too many unlocking, switch it to bi-weekly. (my alt took 8 hours to go from level 1 to glowy)

4. More skills and items for non-jedis. (IE armor, weapons, and general items that would entice people to stay as a non-jedi)

5. BH can only get your mission if you play out of Character. (IE a light jedi kills innocent people, he gets on the terms)

6. some kind of light to dark meter. (IE A light jedi kills innocent people, he gets on the terms, and gets -10 light points or something. and after so many points you become dark. or Yoda Shows up and gives you a hard time.i know KOTOR)

7. Get rid of the loss of exp for BH, or add one for the BH who loose,. (cause there is no benefit to fighting them for the jedi)

this will never happen. but it would make it fun again.

Putting in the holo only gave the slackers the reason they needed to go out and grind. Many already knew it took profesisons...not as many were willing to go blindly into it without knowing how many. The holocron was a crutch. I can tell you that had they not put holocrons into the game, it would ahve only been a matter of time before word got around in a fashion that people would have relied on it and resulted in the same spike in jedi.

A blanket statement, with no facts. How exactly would the game be better?

and im sure 90% of them were going to quit when the CU came out.

They are still here.
We are still here.

If 50% of the people on these forums who said they were going to quit did when the CU came out I would agree. (Myself included)

Its your opinion and I respect it, but I disagree.

But your opinion is that is there were no Jedi in SWG no one would play.
