To guard doesnt imply Master Defend, it implies guardianship...
Jedi Guardians are masters of the Lightsaber, which means they are better at Lightsaber combat then the other types of Jedi (sentinel, consular). A large part of my template is based on making the best use out of the Lightsaber and making it the most lethal offensive weapon that you are capable of using (well as much as the game in its current state will let us).
I would actually agree with you that a Mdef / MLS template would be a Jedi Guardian's template as well, mine is just a variant.
I appologize if my previous response to you seemed sarcastic (it was) however it was meant as a joke and not to offend.

If it suits your playstyle then stick with it, there isnt really a reason to change something you enjoy...unless SOE severely nerfs something (God forbid) that makes your template unenjoyable. Either that or they really improve something (as if..) that would be better in your template and make it more enjoyable to play.

Yes, this thread is referenced in one of sticky threads. There are many more viable than already listed combinations (although that thread contains guides which is nice).
I am planning to get 0044 defender, 3402 enhancer, 4000 healer and MLS. It seems to me one of the most suitable template to my playstyle but I want to make sure that the new FRS won't make it .. not completely corresponding to my needs (want to check what it gives to the dark side). For the timebeing I am ok with what I have - mdef, 0404ls, 4020h, 3004enh - not the best (again from the personal point of view/style) but a O.K.

This template is very good. I am heading for it right now after losing about 10million jedi xp debating whteher to go it or not. Switching back and forth hopefully ill get there and stick as it as never tried it before
