I would have and at the time thought I did lol.
Believe it or not professions like Creature Handler and Ranger apealed to me when reading the box and peaking at the guide they were selling on the shelf next to it. I bought the game with the intention of just doing as they advertised living in swg.
The first few months were fun, buggy but fun, and unlocking was a mystery people pondered, I may have thought it would be cool but never searched it out.
Then the holo-grind, after people were buying holos for millions andchanging professions like they change clothing I still didnt care and stayed with my ch toon roaming and taming. then in feb 04 a friend begged me to do it with him to use the xmas holo I had. I still didnt really care and he laughed at me but I used it. my third holo went silent, looks like I chose well in 03. I am a jedi today but my alt is a ch. actually got a cpl toons who r ch and more.
If there was no jedi I would still be a ch and playing, the only difference is I would have grinded alot less and probably had more fun in 2004.
I have played since day 1 for one main reason. The game was ground breaking in scope and depth. Simple as that, no other game allows me to do what I can do in swg. I read alot about swg on game sights before it came out and since then I have tried a few other online games that had alot of appeal as well. But once I played swg the rest were so limited I couldnt stay with them for more than a couple weeks.
Jedi was never mentioned in any of the reviews I read,so it is impossible to have played a role in me choosing to play swg. I have a jedi and none characters now and enjoy them all for the most part.
We do need some more game systems added to swg to complete it in my opinion though. Galactic civil war publish and also guild system publish and maybe clothing publish would be great. And ranking right up there with gcw publish would be more JTL influence throughout the game as a whole. Opening scene of a New Hope is a jtl boarding action

Remeber, back in the day they advertised, you might not ever be a Jedi, in your star wars galaxy adventures, oh brother how times have changed. It star wars, I bought the game to be a smuggler, then I realized smuggler what, stick it where lol.. then a bh for along time, then the hologrind, then 20 professions later no unlock and the jedi revamp, then the village grind, and now a jedi with flashlight that can't even swat flies with..
But to answer your question if there were no chance to be a jedi, I would have still bought the game, in hopes that jedi would have at least been interactive npc's..
I got my 27 month veteran award, can't belive I am still here, a die hard Star Wars Fan, but here lately, wondering if its worth it any longer, I would like to think the dev's have some grand scheme, or plan, but I think I am dreaming. looking, to Star Trek beta next year and live in 2007, its not a sony game, just hope they don't buy it like the matrix lol
