Thread: Lightsaber Bug and CA Bug Cause (NOT CRYSTAL BUG!!!)

Awsome post...I have done the exact same testing using time stamps...also submitted a bug report...this needs to get fixed ![]()

Nice find. This confirms why during initial respec testing I hit just as fast 0404 Saber as Master when cycling specials.
So for non-jedi toons, it looks like getting the base speed low on your weapon or a speed power-up is the way to overcome the bug.
Great work digigng up the problem.
A big questionI have though is, " Can they just fix it without throwing the game balance on its head?". Currently, Saber Jedis seem to have settled into a very appropriate level of balance within the game. If they just put in the code that is supposed to be there, it would create imbalance and then there would likely be following nerfs in other areas. I suspect pearl and crystal drops are being used as a regulating mecanism for jedi balance.Would the "correct" fix bring forth other unwanted nerfs?

Not that everything has conspiracies, but what I have read; whereas, the solution may not difficult to fix. Considering that as a possiblity (intentally broke); we could assume, that there is a reason why LS is currently they way it is and intended. If The speed was fix what would happen? If you can answer thatthen we can conclude that is why it is not fixed. Just a thought. Dumb one but a thought nonetheless.

The problem with your question is that Saber Hit and all attacks for every other weapon in the game use effective speed. Many, many ranged specialists (Pistoleers, Carbineers, Riflemen) push their weapons to or almost to the hard cap of 1.0 speed, and end up actually attacking once every second.
I cannot claim to read the developers' minds, but if RIFLES are allowed to attack every second, I rather doubt it's intended that lightsabers be limited to half that rate of attack.
Great research there.. I would also like to point out that right after launch it was brought to light that several ranged professions had this problem too. They eventually fixed it.
Either way well done
