There are too many finished template jedi around to allow that much of an increase in power. Saber tef means bh lead gank squads. There is no chance whatsoever the devs will give jedi enough power to compete against an 8 player group. The only way for that to happen if for jedi to disappear first. Ask yourself, are you willing to delete your jedi and never create a new one so that someone else's will be more powerful? Until nine out of ten jedi answer yes we won't see a power increase outside of the limited terrain of the FRS. Asking for increased risk will only bring increased risk.

but... if they enforce the fact that jedi are to be hunted, get saber tefs and so on that discourages alot of people from going for jedi and also leads to less of them being seen, so increased power is an option.

Jedi lose power because the population increases, the reduction in risk is a side effect. An alpha class with an extremely low population can get away with 10X power, the more common it becomes the closer it moves to 1X power. Asking for increased penalties will not bring increased power.
especially when everyone ends up being one. Once everyone has one guess what? we will all be only 1x stronger than everyone else except for the noobs that will be working on getting a jedi. This is star wars and most players will want to become jedi. When a brand new player happens to cross my path guess what the first question they ask me is? Bet you can guess "how do i become a jedi?" or "what badges do i need to become a jedi" It has nothing to do with people asking for changes in the profession it has everything to do with people wanting to be a jedi because this game carries the name of STAR WARS. Make a new alpha profession that has nothing to do with jedi and i bet it wouldnt be desired by many and it would remain alpha because it is rare.
As much as some of you like to flame me, cuz yes i have been pig headed to my view, i really understand both points of view. Here is a solution to appease both sides of the argument. Tell me what you think.
What if the rules of visibility were changed so that NPC city limits generate visibility as well as faction npc's.
For example if you were standing in Mos Eisley or Theed showing off your Jediness then you would generate visibilty at an extremely high rate to the point that with in5 minutes of doing so your name would be on the terminals. Simulating the fact that people living there my start to gossip or call you in. It would be easy to tell if you were in the NPC city limits because of the system message that is already in place.
Now faction NPC's that are found in the wild would also generate visibility but at a much less rate then in city limits. 15 minutes of showing off your Jediness, howeverwould result in full visibility and put your nameon the terminals. This would simulate the time it would take for an outpost to report you. And i would also say that Imp NPC's would also generate visibility at a slightly higher rate than rebel npc's as imp npc's have a directive that all jedi are enemies to the empire while rebels have no such direct at all.
This would also insure that most jedi would stay hidden out of the public eye. I would aslo say that wearing robes and lightsabers as well as your title should generate visibility in situations as ive described above.
What do you think? Would this be a viable solution to this extremely contraversal problem?
Use force powers in a city and you will instantly be on the terminals.

I would say give a slight slight grace period before your name goes on the terminals just incase some one shuttled in and forgot they had macros running, or forgot the light saber was equiped. But that grace period should be very very small. An NPC city should put you name on the terminals pretty close to instantly though. Or maybe youre right any Jediness in the city = name instantly on the terminals making it so if you forgot well too late people saw you and reported you. You shouldnt have been reckless and careless young padawan while venturing in the cities.

with the current 'no pvp for jedi' posts i dont think ur gonna get it
there is a new breed of jedi now.... they dont wanna 'own' all, they wanna play a game to its full and not get a bh putting em off every 30 mins (and thats what there going to get eventualy)

I really dont think people want it to go away all together i just think they want to be able to quest and take part in content. Id bet most would rather just have the visibility rules changed a little.

ya im sure no im POSATIVE
there is room for evryone to play or not to play with the bhs, jacilla came up with the best idea ive seen in a long time regarding pvp and jedi i cant find it lol but the idea was sound
on leave =no vis gained
combatant= vis at norm rate and a bonus to action regen ( i think)
spec forces = +50% vis gained and some hefty bonuses to go with it
it gives players of all types what they want i think..... i wish i could find the dang post

When you choose jedi you clicked the yes I want forced pvp botton. Anyone who says otherwise there are 32 professions that don't have froced pvp pick one. Jedi always had forced pvp and always should, I think the game has gone soft. To many roleplayers and not enough pvpers left, I think this needs to change. I can't imagine what the hell you non-PVPer do for fun. all I got to say is BRING BACK TEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5 seconds to unequip your saber and go unarmed and pretend to be a TK purist, it wasnt that hard.

In response to the above it just shows that those of you who whine about it didnt have a clue and thus you hated it.Hated seeing the mind bar maxed out????Well which bar wasnt't maxxed out?Did it affect your game play when other players had maxxed out HAM?Was there somethig stoppin gyou from doing the same?Doctor buffs were a time sink but other than that they were available to everyone so whats you point?
DOTS I agree with you. They were out of control and killed PvP.
Stun batons and geo blasters were just one of things you had to take into consideration in PvP.Ever heard of stun armor? So once you realize what your enemies attack and def. consisted of you planned accordingly.I know that much more complicated than the generic clciking wars we have now where everyone is the same.Personally I think they took it out because some people strugggled with the concept and it was really really difficult to switch armor or weapons.we all know how that equates to harrassment and "forced tactic change" which if you read closely is against the "whiner player constitution" I beleive the first line reads "Freedom of the minority to rule the majority because we will guilt the powers that be into making things our way or we will site them for harrassment and call in the ACLU to be our muscle"
It's ashame when the flaws in out society creap into our fun time.Of course I'm including the obnoxious trash talking mental midgets in that as well as the "harrassment /forced PvP gang"
Give me a break!
Forced Tactical Change? Like in the middle of combat? You're telling me in the old system that you were able to change your armor in the middle of combat? Either you never playedthe old combat systemor spent too much time as a Jedi to know anything about it. Along with that, changing weapons? Did you know about the weapon switch delay? No you didn't! You never had to switch sabers about. You kept that double bladed on all the time.
Did someone else's Mind Bar being maxed out effect others gameplay? Of course it did! If someone else was doing it, it gave them an advantage which forced everyone else to do it too. SUCKED!
You knew nothing about the old combat system except what it was like to be a Jedi.
TEFs should be reinstated, but only elite factional npc's should be able to tef and reinstate the regular pre cu player Tef. Tef's was one of the exciting things about SWG, and when that died, a lot of fun went with it.
I remember about a year & a half ago as a Pistoleer on Naboo, I was doing a few quests with friends when I was pulled over by some storm troopers who wanted to check me for some contraband. At this point, I quick ran away and attempted to hide all my spices in my R4 droid, but it was too late…. they caught me, searched me, & tefed me. My heart started pounding, & I
quickly killed the troopers and ran away as fast as I could to avoid being being spotted. In no time, a Jedi Knight spots me, chases me and hurls his saber which knocks me down, then he goes to town on me with his uber saber which no armor could protect against. My friends seeing this, quickly responded to my aid and attacked the Jedi Knight and they all received tef's also. We all tryed to kill the Jedi, but we were no match for his deadly Saber & 85% blocking. That Jedi managed to take out half my friends (6-7) before he booked it with force run 3. That was a fun day because of the unexpected PVP twist while doing a simple quest. This element needs to return somehow.
