Thread: What to do with my Jedi when I am not playing (afk house sitting)...will I get in trouble?

Did you seriously say that? And do you seriously believe that? Your childish logic may work on the other idiots but anyone with a shred of intelligence can easily see through it.
- Entertainers do not log in and afk to grief other players.
- Jedi staying ingame or out of game does not remove visibility. Once again, this is the kind of logic a child produces to get away with stuff. I'm not saying you're a child but you are certainly taking the stance of one. And dont pretend like you do it for visibility.90% of the Jedi that posted have flat out said they do it to grief others.
Devs may or may not get rid of macro's. I'm just saying that would be the easiest way for them to correct this problem. Any other kind of fix would cause too many bugs or other problems. It's up to them what course of action they take. But being foolish would be thinking they will NOT remove it just because they have not removed it yet.
And if you think this is not a problem, you should wake up. If things like this was something the game was designed to do, then "offline" jedi would still appear on the terminals. At this point it's still under the radar as only the most immature Jedi participate in it. Thankfully a large majority of Jedi can still be adults about it. Which is why it has no seen much attention from the Dev's.
Bad news... but with the trick I sometimes do about calling a droid.. putting it on patrol and following, I don't even NEED a macro.....

It bleeds off visibility, there's no exploit here. These are intended game mechanics.
Incorrect.
Being online or offline does not increase/decrease the amount of time your visibility is on you. NONE whatsever.
If you had enough visibility to get on the terminals, it will take THREE weeks to fully go to zero. (assuming you do nothing to add to your visibility).
This is a myth started by some players to make it look like Jedi that are afk are not risking anything in houses while they burn off visibility.
However, by my own experiments and by what various devs have stated (mostly JustG) - this is not the case.

That maybe true, but the difference between a Jedi logging in to grief/annoy others is different then an entertainer logging in to help or make credits afk. And many BH's have flat admitted that they hunt Jedi for the grief, not the money or the hunt...you don't see the player bounty system being changed, do you? Same argument.
Like I said before, both these Jedi and those BH's are trash. Both are cut from the same material and in general ruining this game for the honest people.
no, the easiest way would be to go ahead and take away the whining from doth sides.... Take out this player bounty system, Give BH's NPC Jedi to hunt, and send high end NPC BH's for Jedi.... problem solved. But as long as these two professions are pitted against each other as we currently are, both sides will continue to find the best ways to "stick it" to the other....
I'll agree with this. The pvp system was a mistake to begin with. And I dont see how any sane person could not see the impending problems it would cause. At this point though they would really have to give BH's something special if they plan to take away player bounties. It's much too late to be making that decision considering over half the SWG population are BH's. Although only 25% of them actually do pvp.
And just as many immature BH's participate in this game.... And there is nothing "immature" about not wanting to fight you.... If I refuse to be your content, then so be it... You just say it's "immature" as a little insult to try to get your way... Who's the real immature one there...
You are right, there is nothing wrong with not wanting to fight. I dont care if someone is in thier homes chatting with friends, crafting, whatever. I dont care if Jedi run, cloak, stasis, whatever. But there is a problem when they log in, go to bed, and then pat themselves on the back thinking they are champions of the Jedi cause. These people are a minority that creates the illusion that all Jedi arestuck-up, whiny, crybabies.

nothing can stop the most determined of padawans from grinding to a full temp,and although im a full temp i actually left my toon AFK overnight last night just to annoy BH for the first time,simply because i loathe them so much,i didnt used to but im so sick of seeing all the hate they have towards jedi and all the new and improved ways they devise to mess with our game time so i figure if its ok for them to hate us for no apparent reason and kill us when we're LD,PvPingPvEing or in any other sort of comprimising situation which they frequently do,then its ok for me to mess with them and waste their time on purpose
oh and before anyone talks about them being BH and its ok for them to do those things to us because they're BH and its ok,heres a newsflash for you idiots before you even post,we're NOT jedi and you're NOT bounty hunters,so doing things underhanded isnt ok,thats just an excuse you guys use to be jerks to people to try and make ppl think its ok..its not!,fair play should apply at ALL times,and if you cant beat someone 1vs1 go pick up dancer or something because you're ruining people's game time that they pay for

OMG I have a solution for all of u Jedi who house sit, CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION. Obviously if u people r leaving your jedi online for days at a time to piss off a BH then u r not playing the game. You r paying 15 dollars a month to not use a character that u spent months getting, lol r u STUPID?? I am a BH in game big surprise huh?? I have been taken out by Jedi both pre pub 9 and some 2 weeks old. The Jedi that I hear whining are the ones who do not know how to PvP obviously. I dont do it for griefing, i dont do it for the money...I do it cause it adds a new dimension to this game and makes it fun, if it has stopped being fun for u Y in the hell do u still play?? I hunt alone cause that is what a BH in star wars is supposed to be a solo player. If u r going to post here saying well if u have been killed by Jedi u dont know how to PvP fine that is your opinion, but on my server I have been complimented by many of the Jedi I have faced as being the best they have ever faced. So any ways this post wont change anyones mind, just figured if I am going to bother reading may as well post a solution for all of u whiners.

Odds are my jedi is on the BH terminals...I grind and people come around...I am not a SP show off jedi...but I imagine I am on the terms.
so I was thinking...I hate it when a BH comes out and messes with my limited playtime so I was wondering if messing with there playtime by doing this is against the rules and if so...how is it against the rules?
I was thinking about leaving my Jedi on when I am afk...parked in my private house...I figure late night off peak hours and during peak hours when I can't play I will piss off a few BH by wasting there play time like they waste mine when I am out having a good time.
One thing I would want to know before doing it is if I am breaking a rule can you tell me what rule I am breaking?
secondly I would want to know if you can still send in bomb droids/pets to private houses to boot people out with a BH TEF...has that been fixed?
If a DEV/CSR can tell me that it is against the rules with a straight face and point out how it is any different then an afk dancer/sp spammer I will not do it...and saying well you are disrupting the game for the BH is not enough...afk dancers disrupt the game for ATK dancers and SP spammers disrupt the game for merchants who pay for barking droids...so saying I would be disrupting the game for bh will not cut it...if you can tell me what rules I would be breaking I would not do it.
(disclaimer I am not...I repeat NOT suggesting others do this to clog the BH terminals with afk jedi...I am just posting this to see if it is ok or against the rules to do...)

If your this bored and this imposed with causing people grief to do this then your in pretty bad shape as a person I guess.
Let's face it unless your online there is really no reason to leave your toon in game unless its to just more or less just waste thier time.
Or in other words, your no better then the BH hunting you.
(Now then, if your making sabers or decorating or you are actully there, THEN THAT IS DIFFERENT).. but you did not say that.

lol First you'd have to be able to target me in said structure... at all 4 corners of the house i have crystal refinement packs named (You guessed it...) Odum Carlock (Good luck using /target Odum)
trick has nothing to do with /tar anything i can get line of site in a private structure
I've been griefed for 1.5 million xp in the course of 2 days by bh who found they could drop me before my template was finished and pretty much farmed me to pay for a suit of RIS..... If i want topay them back it's my 15 a month and my right.
I honestly dont understand what you mean here maybe you could clear it up for me im assumeing some bh blackmailed you or something?

as it's always said, it's their job to kill us and it's our job to survive... one tactic is to have bh automatically toss your mission cause your a house sitter. I've dealt with alot of bh and with their advantages now we can't counter, I'd rather have em inclined to toss my mission...
FYI a Bh doesnt get your name till he's 200m or closer to you so your reputation as a house sitter does no good he cant get your mission and go oh hey hes a house sitter he has to come to you first
sitting afk in your house when you have no intent on playing anytime soon has nothing to do with survival dont kid yourself you could achieve the exact same results by logging out
and sorry, but now with bh's getting squad leader and rifleman for the 4k 1 hit... I'm using every trick I can to stay ahead of the game.
how many rifleman bh have come for you with a sl buff on and hit you for 1k?
we don't all have pre-curb sabers.. and we also don't all have 4k ham or the range to hit root/snare chain users....
how many times have you been chain rooted?

the state of jedi has changed when i got my jedi we all complained because we never got enough visits from bh now all these post cu 2 week grinders dont want to fight bh lol well when you sined up for jedi you signed up for forced pvp
that is the reason i took jedi i personaly had not much idea what a jedi was when i got it as i have not seen any sw movies ever and have learned from the game the only reason i went jedi was the idea that it would be interesting to always be on my toes not knowing if a bh was around the corner
you kids no vis from group members, no penalty for any death except a bh death, lol now you guys dont want forced pvp give me a break everything has been handed to this generation of jedi on a silver spoon
i have to stop reading these forums or im gonna end up deleteing my jedi toon and just playing my bh as my my main if whats posted in these forums truely represents what jedi have come to i dont want to be one any more
hmmm...if you're able to get LOS on someone inside a private structure, aren't you the one breaking the ToS with an exploit?
