Thread: Jedi vs BH Cybernetic Fun!

Okay, I do not support penalties for unsuccesful bounty hunts because the task is difficult at best. Furthermore
I appreciate you trying to come up with ideas. As always it is easier to be destructive than constructive, so I seriously appreciate your input. However the major factor that I think is often missed in BH v Jedi threads is how fights begin, and is the main reason I oppose any negative on the hunter (that differs from any other PvP encounter):
As a Bounty Hunter I cannot hunt whomever I want when I want. There are lots of factors out of my control that must all come into alignment before I can hunt a given Jedi, or any Jedi for that matter:
1. A Jedi must exist - as has often been stated, if there were no Jedi there would be no Jedi to hunt. I can't force anyone to become a Jedi, someone must volunteer and go through whatever process to get to it.
2. A Jedi must gain visibility - For padawans visiblity is not a given, even post CU. I understand there are more rewards (i.e. faster xp gain) for grouping, but you do not have to group, it is just easier for you (BH attacks aside)
3. A Jedi with visibility must have enough to get on the terminals - just being seen once doesn't do it.
4. A Jedi with enough visibility must not have x amount of BH's already with that mission - granted from a Jedi's point of view, this means they are potentially already hunted, but from mine I still can't hunt and it is out of my control.
5. A Jedi with enough vis and a free mission must be online when I am
6. A Jedi with enough vis, a free mission, and online must be in a place that I can attack him. A house sitter isn't a huntable target (despitemy expense, time, and effort to find that out).
Only when all these conditions are met may I hunt and even then there is not an "I win" button. Sometimes there are even conditions that make the hunt even more difficult (Kashyyyk, JTL, etc.). So before you are attacked by a Bounty Hunter, remember the stars aligned to make that possible. If you contributed to the alignment of any of those stars, well . . .
As much as I value your step by step evaluation of how Jedi's get on the BH Terminals... I think you will find that your post has fallen on deaf ears. We ( as Jedi ) are very aware of how we get on the terminals, and the process that leads to it. When will some of you understand.... this is not intended to be a punishment for BH's...
By the way... as far as having the task of finding Jedi to hunt on the terminals... Do you honestly find that a difficult thing to do??
I can understand that BH's fear losing something for thier failed missions... whether it's a limb, money, skill points, or anything else... I value and appreciate the BH profession, and I am not promoting that you get nerfed or whatever else some others think.
This is as clear as I can be about this post... A BH has an ability that no other profession will ever have in this game, they get to hunt and kill a real live player in-game (not a mindless NPC) and change the entire corse of that players gaming experience. I recognise this aspect of the game as a Jedi and I welcome it with open arms. I have not once in this post claimed that eigther profession was harder or easier than the other. All I want is a little more immersion for the BH vs Jedi encounters... I do not think that asking for some risk is that much to ask of the BH's. If you think that your hunt takes sooo long, and you spend too much money on it, and you stalk for hours - minutes - or weeks, then become some other profession and let the devoted BH's bring some real content to your profession. We are not taking anything from you.... no skill points, no investigation tree boxes, not anything... just a silly cybernetic arm / leg that you need to pay to remove. THATS all... so maybe not 200k per limb... but like maybe 20k per limb.... I mean after all, if you wear taking a bounty for the Empire and failed... they would not so forgiving ![]()
yes it does....and its fantastic you got kicked from your GCW postition, you ugly little troll

BH losses:
Cost of high endarmor/weapons so as to have a chance
Cost of foods/buffs/spices
Cost of clone binding, and insurance
Equipment Decay
Cost of Travelling
Cost of Arykyds
Cost of BH tracking droids
Time spent flying to Kashyyyk
Being forced to play a game with an Alpha class
Wasting his time dying against a profession designed to outclass him by 1.5x
Before he even takes a single mission, the cost is already high.
Now... the bringing 4 of his friends was mentioned.
In this Jedi plan to punish BH's who dare try to fulfill their role in this game, should a BH who tries it solo have to suffer a penalty equal to a BH who brings 4 friends?
Keeping in mind, a full template Jedi is by design, more powerful than a single BH.
Does that really seem fair?

Bottom line is this. Jedi stand to lose everything in these encounters, and BH's stand to lose absolutely nothing but a trip to the nearest cloner.
Yes, but you are missing what Jedi gain. You gain all those Jedi skills, which makes you far superior to any other player. This is the balance. Balance may not seem fair on your side, but it makes it fair to every other player. Jedi can't have everything, and thus there is a penalty to offset their power.
:: My Cybernetic Suggestion ::
- I say this... If a BH is defeated in combat by a Jedi, then to simulate the body parts that would normally most certainly hit the floor, make them clone automatically with a Cybernetic Body part at random. but not just any old generic Cybernetic... one with negative stats too it... ex... -15 terrain neg, or -10 melee def, etc etc
While this seems like an okay enough idea, I still disagree because of the balance factor. BH do not gain all the special abilities that Jedi do, as do no other professions. It would be unfair to penalize a profession that doesn't get a benefit. Again, this may seem fair on your side, but it wouldn't be balanced.
- These cybernetics can still be removed by a Cyber-Doc in the Hospital anytime they wish, BUT... it would cost the BH whatever his Jedi mission was worth that he failed. So if a BH took a 225k mission on a Jedi and dies, then it will cost him 225k to remove his horrible new body part
Horrible idea. This will only make it so that BH target ONLY low level Jedi that they know they can defeat, and will further increase the amount of ganking that goes on. If a BH knows he can't defeat a 225k Jedi and knows that when he loses he not only can't collect the bounty, but also will have to pay out that 225k, no one will ever fight higher level Jedi. We'll go after the low level guys who are complaining that they get hunted too often as it is. Not to mention the fact that there wouldn't be a plausible reason that the same cybernetic doctor would charge me so much more for the same operation.
I just think it's high time that BH's actually had some risk in going up against an opponent such as the Jedi. You have all heard BH's say.... " Oh I only do it for the money".... "Nuthing personal".... ok fine, lets hit them where it counts, in thier pocket book
Again, the risk has to come with a reward. Getting paid for doing our job isn't a reward big enough to compensate for this kind of risk. Everyone gets paid to do their job, crafters, rangers, hunters, smugglers, etc. I'm talking about a reward on par with the Jedi rewards if we are supposed to be penalized. As I have stated, this may see fair on your side, but that doesn't mean it is balanced.

Then why not do something more simple make it cost 120k to remove the part no more what the bounty. Basically 1k for the amount of skill points you need to Master BH. Yea it might still promote bottemfeeding but its alittle more balanced. Jedi under 120k still have alot of there normal professions to protect them(that is if they weren't stupid not to drop all there normal professions and grind jedi branches instead of teirs. That way you stay close to lvl 80 and still have some true defense, the bad area in jedi grinding seems to be between 130k to 200k. where jedi don't have enough normal profession skills and not truely enough jedi skills to protect them)

Veryinteresting suggestion.
Only if the names and mission payouts were still displayed so BHs could see what they were getting into.
What would happen if a BH didnt have the cash? Doomed to have negative stats forever? Fair enough I say. Good idea in general actually. Just need to keep those names and mission payouts up there and it would be fine.

I challenge anyone to name a Star Wars movie or book where a lightsaber was drawn in anger, and a body part, or a limb, or a droid component did not go flying off onto the floor. And Obi Wan's death does not count
That being said.... I think that since SWG has decided to implament cybernetic body parts into the game, then maybe us Jedi could have a bit of fun with it. I am in no way suggesting that the DEV's try to make the game graphic in nature so that body parts go flying, however I do have a suggestion, let me break it down.
:: Current Gameplay Facts ::
- When a BH kills a Jedi, the Jedi loses massive amounts of xp
- When a BH kills a Jedi, the BH makes tons of money
- When a BHtakes a Jedi mission, the BHcan bring friends to help
- When a Jedi gets attacked, NO ONE can help them at all
- When a Jedi actually kills a BH, they get nothing (except being on the BH-Terms some more)

:: My Cybernetic Suggestion ::
- The game already has cybernetics set up, and coded into the game, to pop onto your body randomly at different cloners if you did not clone before you died. You might have seen some of your friends walking about Dathomire with silver legs a few times

Actually, I could support this, sounds like fun. Though, the removal fee is kinda high and would encourage bottom feeding even more. Now, the usual fee or 10% of the bounty amount or so could work.
However, the current mechanic does not allow this to happen if you are cloned, and on a regular planet. So, in order to fit it to the current game mechanic that restriction might have to be put in as well.

AlygreaA, XP loss isn't the problem, as I could care less if a BH kills me. The BH should have a loss as well for failing their mission, whether it be the "creator" of the mission sending goons after the BH for his failure or the cybernetic idea, which I believe would be great, or any other type of loss for the BH from money to skills, would make a large dent on this respec BH population that spontaneously popped up after CU.

Every profession has costs to do their professions...
by using YOUR logic we can say that since we already have excessive costs in:
Decaying crystal components in our weapons, and such crystals are very hard to come by, and very expessive to buy from the economy.
Having to buy vehicles by the crate since they seem to be the first target taken out by our attackers.
food/spices/drinks to survive with low natural regen rates.
high maintainance upkeep on multiple houses.
cloning/insurance fees...
so, since we have all of these, then we shouldn't have to have added xp loss of low percentages of gained xp.
And before you tell me about how it was my choice to be a Jedi, and I knew the risks and how i should already know how hard it is... Well, you chose to be a BH (or to go overt in PvP) so you know the risks involved. Killing Jedi is not meant to be easy.
As for the "Alpha Class" comment... Noone is being force to play with an alpha class...noone is being forced to play this game at all.
By using THAT logic, all entertainers and crafters should have the right to call for massive nerfs on all the combat professions who overpower them. To a crafter, a Brawler is an "Alpha Class."
