Thread: Just tuned 92 Pearls...Results inside....
I agree pearls are a big problems. Personally, I use all crystals in my saber minus one. I just recently tuned a pearl that I use. I traded ~20 min/max damage for one more less FC (It's -6 btw). I spent a week in the force crystal hunter's cave and have a somewhat usable saber because of that. I've never had a good pearl tune.... ever. Crystals beat the crap out of them =X

you know, does anyone notice the amount of pearls/crystals people are tuning? I mean how long does it take you to get and tune 98 - 300 of them. If any jedi is getting 300 crystals in a months time, that is too many and because of that, I see why the tuning is so bad.

The tunes used in my test were done by a number of people, including myself. Those 300+ tunes came from roughly a dozen tuners. I cannot tell you how long it took the OP to gather 98 pearls. If you play everyday and manage to loot just 3 pearls or crystals that's still 90 in one month. Out of those 90, you might average one decent tune as the OP did or get nothing useful. Many people I know seem to have terrible luck with tunes. Again, I can't tell you the experience of other players and only my own. More often than not, I can spend the same 3 hours you did hunting krayts and get absolutely zero (0) pearls. In fact, having hunted somewhere around 100 krayts in groups and solo, I've managed to get a pearl only twice and neither tunedabove 60 damage. I estimate that over 4 months, I've personally harvested around 500 crystals (and 2 pearls). Out of all those tunes, my best is 97 -3FC -0.03 speed. Many would not call that a good tune. I don't have a single pearl in my saber.
I disagree that drop rates need to be even tighter because of the abundance of drops. Every piece of evidence suggest, if anything, that the drop rates should be much higher. You yourself state you haven't had a good tune in a long time. To me, running around for hours killing the same thing over and over agian to gather a few crystals and pray that they will tune well is just another form of boring, unproductive grinding that keeps people from exploring other aspects of the game.
Ok, that sounds much better. Just that noone said how long it took them to get all those pearls. I was saying the drop rate should be lower and half better tune rates if pearls where too easy to get or the drop rate be higher with the current tune rates and then with the FRS the devs might give premiums back (wishful thinking though).
Bah!

On Eclipse server the pearls would cost you over 400 million.
The 80 I tuned run about the same stats.
Sad all I can is sad.
like you said at least we can play our alts.

ok hate to break it to you but if you want to get a good avg on this you need to tune roughly 1000 pearls. Remember pearl damage is 10-120 I belive even if it was 20-120 that is 100 diff possibilities. Now FC goes -1 to -9 so there is another 9 possibilities. So to get a 120 -9 fc you have to tune between 900-990 pearls.
Yea thats ridiculous, thats at reasonable pricing 1 billion credits for a possibility no garauntee of 1 good pearl.

I seriously think these testing results and the ones done by others should be put in the Devs face because these are hard facts that pearls need to be fixed. This is not a whine post this is just for posting results please don't flame my hard work there are plenty of other posts to flame away on. I am just providing data.
devs dont care probably hard at work on another expansion that should be a patch
Hahahaha you nailed it except it was an expansion and a new game. No wonder they never had time to fxi the bugs...I mean why fix something that you are getting rid of anyway?
As for my pearls atleast there is hope (although slim) that some may actually convert decent. It won't matter because unless something major changes between now and NGE release I will not be renewing my already cancelled accounts.
