The pvp'ers who always worked to be the best will be the best regardless of the system its the nature of things. This might be racked up as a win for the PvE jedi, in truth i think jedi overall as a class lost. I take it also since this is skillbases once again, it will be fully possible for a single player to kill off your entire guild.
This new system caters more to the true pvpers than you could ever imagine. This is a system where the skilled, hard working players are rewarded and the rest are second class citizens.

Thanx to the whiners who hide behind the "we want to role play while we duel in theed genre" whohave finally decimated the profession I truly love.
Most irrelevent argument for bountyhunters ever. You win price.
And the FRS was retarded. Light Jedi killing for power? Unique?Get real.

I played Quake 3 for 3 years. I avoidedpvp in swg becouse it never needed any reflexes or skill. Except in space. Space pvp is awesome.

Hah I will laugh when you quit beacuse you can no longer fight a creature beacuse the game is more of a FPS for the PvP kind of person in mind.
I just despise the losers who believe they are something just becouse they can win in this game and believe they can prove something with cookie-cutter templates, superequipment andexploiting whatever current "i win" loophole with theirbountyhunter alt.
Real men snipershot with a railgun, in mid air, and do not leetspeak after killing someone with an unreal powerhammer they where lucky to loot after killing a few thousand krayts.

All I asked for was to enable pvp when I wanted to, and stop awarding light side jedi becouse they kill other players.

I think you are in for a shock. If no pvp is your idea of "freedom." Then you are to be let down. Try being a "well-rounded" player who embraces ALL playstyles instead of wanting to have your cake, AND eat it too.
When pvp is good in this game, I will do it, but pvp have been terrible since the day I started.
There are no goals to be fulfilled, always unbalanced, always limited to a few templates, always heavy on equipment rather than skill...
So being forced into that crap was the worst idea ever.

I do not need more than a lightsaber, some forcepowers and the Jedi title to be proud and have fun.

lol You won... now that one is funny.
You won a new watered down version and you know it...
NOW if you won the old school Jedi -- then THAT would have been somthing to be proud of... what you won was a toon that is no stronger then a crafter... good show, do not try to mix the two same things.
Jedi of the past is much different then the future one kiddo.... you not the same at all lol.
I cant beleive you actully think that somehow its the same lol....

I wouldnt call pvp jedi for griefers...
but forced-pvp have never worked.
To a traditional roleplayer, who picked template according to what she/he feel fits for her character, and spend more time writing background than shopping for food, forced-pvp do nothing but ruin the game. This is something many non-roleplayers do not understand. But in a world that doesnt restrict choices you do not need understanding.
RPG have also been about co-operation since the beginning, not competition. A medic is not supposed to fight a fighter, but even if the fighter would certainly win against the medic in 1on1 combat, the fighter is traditionally inadept to survive on his own - he needs the medic. Becouse of this, forced-pvp against solo targets do not work in a RPG.
You cannot have balanced pvp in a roleplaying game. You can only have fun if you can accept that or if you are simply too weakminded to see how easy it is to break the system. Becouse of this,forced-pvp doesnt work. The attackers will always rely on the best possible combinations of numerical advantages to automaticly win, while thoose who casually play the game for fun arent interested in putting down that amount of time to "win" over another player.

Sorry for you who became Jedi to own the server, I guess Jedi was just given back to us roleplayers, while playerhunting was ripped from BH's like a candybar they never deserved.
This is really insulting. To dare call yourself a role player? good lord, a role player would want tefs, hell a role player would want full time perma pvp, he would want the terms opened for bh to hunt all players. there is no such thing as a pve only rp'er, because a role player role plays the entire situation, not "oh yea im gonna blast your pve buddy in the face 2m from you and you cant do squat about it, yea like that dont ya, oh but its ok to grief you because your a pvp player and this should be a one player game"
Just so you dont get all high and mighty, I am an avid role player, never wear jedi robes, never have my saber out except in combat, never dual in public. However I also accept any dual AS ITS OFFERED, not after I have buffed the living crap out of myself and ensured a win. I do this because in a role play situation, if I guy pulls a gun and wants to shoot me, im not gonna reply "oh wait a sec while I buff myself". no, your a carebear, you want this to be a one player game with other characters just being mobile scenery that can talk back.
this has nothing to do with role play, and everything to do with not wanting to get beat in pvp. well thats great, and you got that option with the ability to be covert, but no, you wanted more, you wanted to not have to role play while still being able to blast the storm trooper in the face, so you got that too, and then you wanted to be jedi in a time when simply being around a jedi was illegal and they were constantly hunted, and NOT role play that either. no your not a role player, and dont speak for the ones of us who are horribly sad that this isnt a full time pvp game where true role play can happen, like catching your enemy unaware, and ambush.
Good job buddy, you got your god mode... I wont be leaving the game, well I hope not anyway, but Im not happy with these changes. they destroy role play, not encourage it.

It's spelled duel, and duelling is not roleplaying.

Actually it did. I knew that as a Jedi being wanted by the Empire. If I pulled my saber to defend myself others would be open to attack me. This made me learn to hide my abilities in public, and only show them to people who I could trust. I did so much more RPing when saber TEF was around. Instead of adapting your RPing around the system. People such as yourself decided to complain.

I can agree with you on this point. I never dueled with my Jedi. I only drew my saber to defend myself from attack.

What he's saying is basically you couldnt hack the PVP part of Jedi so you complained and cried till the profession was dumbed down.

As far as your comments referring to me earlier. I agree that we needed more ways to earn FRS XP. We could have had mission terminals set up in the enclaves which gave out light/dark specific missions. Light missionscould haveincluded destroying a high lvl NPC sith to arbirtation missions to find peaceful solutions. Blame SOE for not having the vision to encorporate those things.
This dosent give the Jedi profession back to the RPers. youve probably lost quite a few good RPers who were able to adapt and still roleplay in the system that was given. Im sorry you, and others like you wern't able to just adapt.

There is not, nor was there ever forced pvp . From the very beginning you always had to do something in order to be attacked. If you didnt draw and fire your gun at the enemy faction, you were not subject to a tef, if you didnt do something for your faction you were not subject to a tef, you always had to do something. What really upsets me is the catch phrase "forced pvp" when in reality its a refusal to take responsiblity for your own behavior. As a jedi you gained vis, if you truely belive that vis is unavoidable... well then you really do need to get hit by bh, and alot of them, untill you learn how not to get vis. that was the check and balance to having a glow stick, you had to be responsible with it. and waving it around for weeks/months on end while grinding is not being responsible. If you want the fast track then you must live with what that brings. again, it wasnt forced, you asked for it when you gained the vis, all it is is a failure to accept responsibility. what really is the issue here is you dont want any kind of feedback for poor decisions, like... um.... any kind of role play situation has. You make the mistake of running head long into a group that can kill you, ie. blasting away at a trooper in a major city, and his buddies jump out and blast you for it, because you invited the tef... guess what, we call that darwinism. You died because you were stupid. Had you not wanted to go rambo in the first place, it wouldnt have happened. Role playing a jedi never requires you to ever use a single jedi ability, and theirfore never makes you eligible for a bh visit. no, you chose to be johnny rocket with a light saber, showing off to any who drove by, and im sure yelling at them for it, how dare they not respect that that just gave you vis! Get over it, tefs and pvp are a way for the community to govern it self. How much trash talk would there be if there was perma pvp? someone gets in your face and decided to be a jerk, well you can chat with him, or you can pull a han solo ( sorry was that an iconic reference?) and blast him first from under the table. Pretty soon people would snap into line when they figured out that if they did something stupid they were subject to real/ingame penelties.
as for the rest im not going to nit pick here and there over petty issues. If you cant read the issue for the typos then this conversation is not worth having. When deciding to debate over if the sky is blue as someone said, or more of a darker bluish grey, did it ever occur to you that the point was it was raining and you were going to get wet, and who give a crap what exact shade of blue the compleatly irrelivent sky is? Look for the point young skywalker
One last aside, you say that "dueling" is not role playing, well guess what, not only is it role playing, but refusing to dual someone who wants to is not role playing. is that what happened to our beloved cantina fight? han challenged greedo to a dual, but only untill greedo accepted and got first strike could han shoot back... yea right. You try that in a pen and paper game next time you decide to trash talk a fellow player who is playing a barbarian and decides hes gonna club ya for it, oh wait, I didnt accept dual, your screwed. Some role player you are.
