Premium Pearls Currently, Premium Pearls do not drop. We will bring them back into the game once we figure out a favorable implementation of these special items; there is not specific ETA for this change and all players that have the old Premium Pearls will get to keep them in the interim.
"interim" refers to the time between "now" and "when premium pearls return".

So where are the news? We knew that already, the question was "Do Jedi lose their premium pearls at some point?". I do not see this answered. "Not for now, yet we may shaft you again whenever the mood hits us." is what we got.

I hope I get to keep mine, it took me forever got aquire my premium and flawless pearls. Maybe at the most detune them when the new ones come, but back whatever the higher level is.

This game is **edit**ed up. "Favorable" reward? lol
When I built my lightsaber they dropped more often than crappy tissues. And those were flawless and premium... Took me a week and about 100 premium pearl tunes to get a perfect saber pre-cu. Its really funny how SOE are milking the last dollars from their customers at the moment. The game just plain sucks. Devs act like premium pearls are something uber, and really unbalancing... People with perfect sabers know this is bull**edit**, it just helps a tiny bit. It should drop as before, and SOE should stop ripping off people.
Something like this would never happen in any other non-SOE MMO, like WoW.

Tiny bit? Well, it MAY be tiny, but dueling against a friend who has a saber that is just a "tiny bit" more powerful than mine, his damage against me is vastly superior. We have similiar skillsets, unlocked at roughly the same time, weren't using foods, etc.. So, I'd say that "tiny bit" makes a HUGE difference. it illustrated to ME at least what will happen if teh FRS is turned on in it's former form. Those with Sabers just the "tiny bit" better will rule the roost, and those who never had a shot at Premiums and Flawless pearls will be their cannon fodder.

I've heard a lot about premiums pearls coming back when they figure out a "favorable implementation". Jesus is coming back too and we all know how long it's been since he last walked the Earth. So forgive me if I don't hold my breath waiting premium pearls to be reintroduced.

From my interpretation, your current premium and flawless crystals will proly convert to the DEV's idea of their stats rather than be deleted. Eventually there will be no pre-CU vetages left in the game. Im glad I read this before I bit the bullet and spent millions on pearls that I couldnt get anymore. Now Ill just wait andloot them myself when they come back into the game.

By the looks of the orginal post, the Devs dont want Sabers filled with premium pearls cause they are ment to be veryrare and not droped by something that can be farmed. So when they make it a quest based DKM that has to be killed on their latest expansion they are going to nerfall existing premium pearls otherwisetherewill bePremium Pearls that have been farmed.
So given how they plan to keep sabers nerfed crystal and pearl wise, are they going to make the basesaber better. Putting it inline with the baseetite weapons?

Great, a half-answer from a dev. Lovely.
See, this is the single biggest problem with this game. The devs don't provide any reaction to anything, they don't tell us anything, and give us no reason to think they even read the forums at all.
Any PR officer worth his salt could tell you that this is NOT the way to run an MMO. Remember, we players aren't playing for free. I hold the developers of say, Halo, to a different set of standards because of one simple reason: YOU DON'T PAY FOR THE ONLINE CONTENT. (Edit: I forgot mention that I'm talking about the PC Halo. Heh.)
In SWG, it's a different story. I pay roughly 20% of the cost of a single-player game towards SWG per month. Every year I buy the equivalent of over 2 full PC games from SOE, not counting expansions and such. As such, I (and everyone else!) hold the devs to a higher standard. I expect them to at least LOOK like they're listening to us. They don't even have to actually listen to us - I just want some sort of response from them. If I must talk to a brick wall, I want the wall to at least look interested.
And I'm not even saying SOE should apologize for everything they do. All I (and everyone else!) want is a dev to come down every so often and tell us what's being fixed. That alone would allay the fears of many, many people.
But we don't even get that much. Our Correspondents - people who were picked BY THE DEVS to be their eyes, ears and mouth to the community! - are forced to hunt down the devs in order to get even the vaguest answer.
So..... yeah. Yeah, I'm just angry. Beta testing ToW is taking its toll. Boy, let me tell you (since the NDA now legally allows me to) that we seem to be getting more of the same. It's sad, in a way. And I'm sad. I don't know what I'm talking about anymore. I'll just go away.

mm kay all jedi want to be uber and id say half these carebears that unlocked post cu want zero risk involved in the jedi prof
well everytime they make our risk more inline with reg elite prof our reward is made closer to reg elite prof
and why do people keep saying " people who never had a chance to get prems and flaws"?
no current jedi should be able to say that they were not playing when krayts were dropping prems and flaws so to say you never had the chance is a cop out
I unlocked the day of the cu i have 2 120 -.2 -9fc pearls and 118 -.18 -9 and a 115 -.2 -9 pearl loaded in my current sabre i got these myself hunted and killed dragons day and night for a month no reason every body could not have done this the only class of krayt you needed a jedi or a specific prof to solo were ancients the others were quite easily solo'd and even ancients with the right template would tke 10-15 minutes solo
