Info contained here is exactly why and how the fundamental process to unlocking FSS is flawed. So basically you have to live a horrible life doing things that have absolutely NO interest to you whatsoever (costing untold amounts of time and credits and also removing many erstwhile skills you did love and earn) while in Star Wars, no such souls went through EverQuest-like grinds. I'm wealthy and I have all I could need and cracking open a few Holocrons and swallowing my fate won't break my back but sooner or later SOMEbody has to see mine (and a few other keen people's) point that if you really, REALLY read all of what's here and all over the Forums on "how to GRIND away on this or that to become Jedi" it just confirms what we're saying...and that is the fact the entire process is grotesque and utterly suspect from square one.

Its also a good place to go if you want to grind your way to the top of your chosen profession.

Some profs don't need that, but non-master weapons are hard to sell, so from a weaponsmith POV its a good idea for at least our profession.

Its no fun not being able to sell your less-than-master wares, better to grind it up.

Yes... first, use a pistol to pull. Second, once you kick the macro off hit ctrl-shft-s. That starts the camera veiw circling.

Does anyone have advice for Rifleman grind? How long does it take for quick, average and slow people? Also, I have to ask a simple question:

What does AOE mean?

Thanks!

Here's a great tip for groups to gain various kinds of xp in a nice fashion. It's mainly a way to work up entertainer healer XP, but can give insane healing xp (and normal surveying xp) as well.

Needed (minimum):

1 entertainer (more always preferred for group xp bonuses)
1 artisan that can sample
1 medic

First the artisan should survey for radioactive outside a cantina or other location where both BF and damage can be healed (you can do this in a camp but with no BF healing you miss out on half the XP).

A doctor should buff the artisan's health, action and probably one or both of quickness and stamina.
You also need a dancer buff (food works, but drugs are discouraged since they will incap). You only need a couple of hundred extra on health, action and mind but you want enough quickness to basically remove the cost of surveying. A musician buff is preferred to speed up mind recovery.

Start sampling radioactive with the artisan. He / she should of course be watching / listening to the entertainer(group) as appropriate. If you find "good" radioactive (this could be related to PE, I am not sure) you'll get 1000 BF and max out mind wounds in minutes. You'll need a lot of entertainers to keep up with this. The medic student would of course concentrate on healing wounds while the entertainers do their thing (they should also be buffed in quickness and/or stamina with optional action buff btw).

The more people participating, the faster the xp will come. Do this with 4-5 artisans and you'll get 1-3k EH xp per minute if not more. Medics will get an infinite source of wounds to heal as well.

With a 2 person entertainer group (one musician, one dancer) and two artisans (with a third one for a short while), I got one box (125k xp) in a matter of hours.

This to watch out for: If a primary buff runs out (H/A/M) the artisan will incap on the next sample event. He/she will only have one point left due to all the wounds. Thus you'll need to redo these buffs as needed (again I recommend doctor/entertainer buffs over food/drugs).

So here you have it. The absolute best way of gaining various kinds of XP as a group effort. The biggest one is Entertainer Healing, with medical xp coming at a close second (actually, I never did this with a medic so it might be the best source of medic xp as well - unlimited wounds to heal is NICE). Survey xp will be coming in at the normal rate, but you'll get healing (no running out of action!) and help others while doing it.

It's hard to do this unattended for all parties, but most can be afk most of the time... Also, the upcoming change to the HAM system will not nerf this way of gaining xp (other kinds of healing will be removed such as tumble, cantina healing etc). Here you're healing wounds on PC's and they can't really stop that from giving xp, now can they?
