Thread: What do jedi really want?

I think group TEF should come back. We should be able to help anyone in our group. To me taking away group TEF took alot of content out of the game. It was nice when BHs came and we could all have an all out battle.

Really now, what do jedi want, i hear so many jedi complain that they never get hunted by bh but then when a bh does hunt and kill them he's an exploiter, or jedi is underpowered. So what do jedi want to be hunted or not, to stand a chance of losing or to be untouchable by any other profession because they grinded for hours and hours to get their jedi. If they removed player bounties from the game would the jedi then be happy. One thing that i dont understand is jedi say they are not 1.5 times more powerful, well if that's true how come every player with a jedi always uses it for hard pve or pvp. if jedi are so weak why not just use your alt?

What I want is the Combat Upgrade.

The five skillsets of Jedi need to be redesigned to work under the new combat system, so that each of the five is viable post-cu, and each of the 20 skillines would be useful.

I do not care if we are x1.0. I just want to be balanced and useful as a Level 80 character.

My Jedi is my main. It's the character I played since I started the game. It's under her name I am registered to all SWG forums. It's she who are on all screenshots taken of me in-game. It's she who's going to be married. It's she who have a great written character background. It's she who owns the house, all rewards for quests inside the house is collected by her. It's she who have all the badges. It's she who is the guildleader over our guild. It's her I spent over a year to play.

An alt is just an empty character. If I need another non-jediI just buy a new account. An alt character do not make up for not upgrading the Jedi for the new system.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

I dont want everything to come easy. I would love to have an epic saber hilt schematic that takes a month or two of questing and a a MOB kill that takes 25 people or more. I would love tospend time finding pearls/crystals that willactually tune. Or months to get special robes. There area few things though

1. Fix the pearl/crystal drop

2. Give Jedi healer some lovin. I mean cmon.

3. For the love of god please fix how our defense works (the whole def is based on what weapon YOU personally are wielding) OR please tell us that is working as intended. This could possibly change my template

4. Im starting to believe that its time to limit the dabbling. Limiting dabbling will give an emphasis to having different proffesions in your group, whereas now it doesn't matter what you are as long as you can do damage. I realize dabbling is part of what makes this game fun but I think it's time to limit it.

5. Fix the speed bug as I think this will make jedi as powerful as people want them to be

6. Give master defender the ability to mitigate armor break. I mean they are supposed to be the strongest tanks in the game and when I get armor broken I scream like a 5 year old girl because suddenly my defensive skills mean just about nothing. Jedi also don't wear armor so why should we even be able to be armor broken. (that might be a bit much but still)

7. Give us ruthlessly hard quests for attachments, special saber hilts, etc. etc. GIVE US SOMETHING TO DO

8. IF and thats a big if they limit dabbling then I think powers should have a slight increase in damage although I still think sabers should do the most damage.

9. Stop the forced PvP with bounty hunters but put a cost on it. Not being an overt jedi means you cannot receive bonuses given from being overt and the whole FRS system. Create quests only overts can do, etc.

10. I love jedi, I wouldn't mind putting in the work to get what I want, but right now so many things need to be done and this is probably a short list. I believe jedi should be more powerful but I dont think simply grinding more should give you everything. There should be a thousand specialization quests you can do. Becoming a powerful jedi should require tons of extra side work other than grinding such as quests and working with other proffessions to have special items crafted etc. etc.

I want the bugs and work arounds fixed.

I want the devs to decide on what their definition of balance is, get us all there, and then leave the professions alone.

More content.

Once those things were done the whole BH/Jedi debate would probably blow over.

Let's see... what do we want...

1) Force regeneration that makes sense (running improved aura macro does not allow for any chance of your force regenerating past the drain of running the macro).

2) Raise the max damage on our weapons to be in line with other professions

3) Allow us to put powerups on our sabers to keep them in line with other professions

4) Give us our robes back

5) Place a 6 second cooldown timer on doctor / combat medic heals so that they are in line with Jedi healing abilities

6) Give us back premium / flawless pearls

7) Stop nerfing us every month

How's that for a start?

I can't answer that question to what the general person that is a jedi wants. I will say what would give me a slight enjoyment. Forced pvp is a good idea if it has control. Due to over exploitation from the BH/Jedi problem where people use abilities/exploits to kill another Player that upsets and ruins part of the enjoyment of the game. I will point out one problem that myself and 3 of my friends (whom also play a jedi) are having more and more often. Going LD then coming back dead after your client crashes. THIS is bull. For someone to go this low should be banned, removed.....and I'd love to slap them personally. This game is for enjoyment. If you can't play the game as intended don't bloody play at all. Exploiting is going to far and fixes aren't keeping up.

As for powers...stop complaining about lack of power and point of problems that weren't intended to be used....EVER! The more we complain about powers we have the more nerfs, changes, and problems*** we will get as a reward. If anything point out things that aren't working properly now so things can improve before they are changed and wrecked again if not more. The game has problems, yes. We need fixed not upgraded at the moment. Once we are fixed to the point where we were as intended. They can change as they see fit. If you don't agree think of this. Die to a Bounty Hunter due to lack of power on yer part, or Crap I went LD...10minutes later you come back dead. We don't want either, but the lesser evil has to be chosen.

I just want to play as a Jedi. I don't care (and would actually prefer) the class to be equal to other elite classes. The way I see it is that before the purge, Jedi were trained since youth and had the benefit of many more years of training before they were even granted the title of "padawan". Our characters are considerably older and already set in their ways. They do not have the same benefit of training nor do they have access to the same source of knowledge and teachings as the previous Jedi of the fallen republic had so it is exponentially more difficult for them to cultivate thier skills and knowledge in the force considering that they had to grow alone without a Master to guide them.

I haven't reached Initiate yet (5/6 quests and many hours of grinding ahead of me) but I realize that developing my Jedi will be difficult but I am looking forward to this regardless of nerfs etc.
