Eskie Wrote - Would be a huge leap forward for Powers if all zip bars went away except the Choke one, and Cloak got a zip bar. And I say that as somebody that only has Powers 0400 (no zip bars at all).

FYI Powers has zip bars on three attacks, and Choke is not one of them.
They are:
Force Lightning
Force Area Lightning
Force Strike
The bad part about the zip bars on these three attacks is that they are the highest damage attacks Powers has (400 - 900ish in pvp), and having to stand still to use your ranged attacks negates most of the value associated with being a ranged profession.
Imagine if every ranged attack that did more than 400 damage required the BH to stand still for five to eight seconds in order to complete their attack.

Sorry, I didnt know there was no zip bar on Choke. Im just Powers 0400
Still, my point stands: Powers would be a lot better off if the zip bars went away so they could actually play their range against other Jedi - having to stand still kinda opposes the idea of kiting. Furthermore, if the zip bars were gone, Powers DPS would increase a little.
SOE on the other hand seems to think that putting a snare on Cloak prevents if from being used as an escape tool, which is wrong. It just will make it harder to use it as the alpha-strike tool that it is intended to be according to the devs. Instead forcing a Cloaker to stand still for 3 to 5 seconds before cloaking would make it easier to prevent him from cloaking, which seems to be too hard currently - hence my suggestion to add a zip bar instead of a snare.
One step back please. You are forgetting a very important stuff.
For a Jedi there's an other solution. The BH has to catch you. Don't forget this.
If you stay afk for 30min at a starport or inside a cantine chatting and laughting, don't whine if a BH catchs you. This will lead to a fight where you can lose or avoid losing, matter of luck, preparation and equipments. If you grind beeing on the terms don't whine if they come and kill you. If you run missions over and over in the same place, espect them to come.
I am full template, maybe not the best template. I know my skills. My Jedi has almost 1 year of life. First time on the terminals was when I decided to go there, at full template. Yes, the solo grinding is possible even if the new ignorant jedi don't accept this fact. I had just 6 BH able to catch me and 4 of them were on the aug 13th when I was helping a mate doing some grinding. All of them went to a cloner, but that's not the point. The point is:
1)I move fast and I never waste time in the same place. The routes are very important, this is something a jedi has to learn.
2)I never go shopping with the Jedi. Soe gives us an alt for what then?
3)I go for top pve, get my loots and move away quick (for example 3-4 giant krayts and go)
4)I never camp a poi (actually only the NS labor POI but no BH is so stupid to follow me to the Elder)
5)I play with 1 eye to the radar, one to the map, one to my ham, one to the target. Actually this is stressing lol
6)Get them mad in following you and then escape. This is the best way to cause frustration in the BHs. Once I got a tell saying I had to stop changing planet because he was coming. LOL
Yes, I'd love to see more jedi doing this instead of beeing bullish ...

Thats the way I play, and I've had a few find me, but its usually after sitting still for longer than I think I should have. (lol inate jedi sence)
I just say, keep moving, unless your in a house, or deep dark parts of Kassh, but always keep looking at your radar, and the rest like the above sayd. I want to make it hard for them. Especially now, that it might not be as easy to escape if necessary.

with this new snare garbage they need to take out the damage reducer from fr2 and 3 its only fair
Indeed. And I'm making that decision based on a biased point of view. I just have FR1 and for those that have FR2 and FR3, it's not fair at all. However, I'm sure some zitfaced developer suggested that when it was donut Wednesday in one of their non-productive think tank meetings.
Charles.
In my opinion they should have took away the damage reduction when snare was introduced to the game to begin with. It was all the counter they needed.
