Thread: You are NOT entitled to be Ubber

Im so sick of the whining about the lack of flawless / premium pearl drops. Where does it say in this game that everyone is entitled to them ? Where does it say everyone should be equal ?
The main problem isnt lack of drops, its the younger generations belief system. I am thoroughly versed in how they think having done extensive market research and focus groups on this generation since they started spending money. They believe that they are entitled to everything. Its their right to win at everything and have everything. The problem is they dont understand that only effort equals reward. Somewhere down the line when mommy and daddy gave them one too many gifts for getting C's on their report card they assumed this misconception.
So let me fix this misconception for you...
You are not entitled to rule every game. In fact in mmorpgs only a small few, maybe 1% ever get that elite sword or super rare armor piece. Jedi are no different. There will and should be some that simply will always beat you.
Effort equals reward. Just like in real life folks, effort means small or big rewards. In the case of SWG, if one started playing since launch and worked hard grinding and hunting those nasty krayts they obviously deserve to rock. Lets not forget how difficult krayts were back then, sometimes taking 45 minutes to take one down with no guarantee of a pearl drop (or a good tune for that matter). These jedi have been playing the game longer, and therefore SHOULD be better. They put the time and energy in. They worked harder than post-cu jedi plain and simple. And like life, they are better because of it.
Not every part of a mmorpg must be perfectly balanced between professions. Sure the devs try and make things within reason but gear will always set some apart. Jedi are the same, some will get better skill tapes and pearls.
If you really want to play a generic watered down mmorpg where everyone is the same and nice and balanced equally then may I suggest trying World of Warcraft. Over there a level 60 warlock is equal to every other level 60 warlock. This is the beauty of SWG, effort matters and can set you apart from the rest....Just like life.
This is the most sanctimonious pile of crap that I've seen. And how false!
You tell the guy hiking 5 miles to go down a volcano risking life and limb everyday to get basketfulls of sulfur for 10 hours/day so he can sell it to some guy to make matches (for us Westerners who even use matches anymore) so he can feed his family everyday that his tremendous effort gains him such wonderful rewards - while a guy in the corner of a conference room in any company in the US complaining silently (sometimes openly) that he didn't get the right danish with his Starbucks makes more in 10 minutes while doing so (maybe that's you - and maybe it's me too, but at least I don't begrudge the "sulfur guy" for wanting it too).
Nice try on your "analysis" of the generations, but so patently wrong, ifonly because of the over-general assumptions about some equation relating effort and reward. It's just an excuse to be elitist and a hypocrite.

You have got to be kidding me, the LUCK tree effects the tunning ability??? right now my tunning is around 30% good tunes, of coarse this is after tunning over 85 good crystals and or pearls...that i had for just about 2 years and even saved till after i made full temp. i tried everything to include food... i find it hard to believe all what your saying but ill try it myself because nothing else has worked...lol.. thank god my saber is pretty good anyway.. i have necrosis to thank for that along with the mech arm i have from the mission. my defences are far better than my offence. i spent most my time analyzing all BH attacks and died a few times to learn them all. now my record "if i could go back in time and start over knowing what i know now" should be around 85 to 90%. my first thing i did was get my alt to m bio eng and master tailor and i made clothing that gave me NICE defences and i added sockets for my kd defence and two saber tapes. and a few STATE defences round up the rest of the skill tapes. i got a few BH that fought me and i waiting for there best attacks with deferant weps. and i think the best hit i got was around 1077 of wich i midigated 933 of it. and i used only basic attacksand healed only once "ill admit that" my saber is still weaker than i would like but my point is that untill the let loose on pearl drops of better quality there are other ways to be an effective jedi verses BH's. just have to use skill and spend a little on defenses and forget about your saber untill you get lucky with the pearls. BTW my saber hits around 530 max dmmg. so im not uber, but im effective. and last thing....to my friend BNB log the hell on you freak...the game isnt the same with out you...................................................................................................
The bottom part of that post made no sense at all.

Luck effect the loot tables, and that includes the tuning tables.
No I don't have proof, but I have lots of evidence in that I tune less than half the pearls my guildmates tune, and have just as good a saber (now). Also, up untill the BH loot thing, I alwase got more money than the other looters, as well as better looted items.

*looks at credit card bill*
Sorry Bud. I think I pay the same monthly fee you do. I am entitled just as much as you are.
/agree
You should complain : you're a Jedi, you pay the same fee than me but you can't use my Heavy lighting rifle or my Assaut Armor.. it's not fair.
Yeah I can, on my alt

ill check it out...no worries..just sceptical
I understand skeptisism. Afterall the DEVs have said not word one about what luck does. And that's what made me get it. If the DEVs don't want us to know what it does, it MUST be good!
After all, if it was just crap we'd have at least gotten a 'works as intended' from them ![]()
Wel people inmy guild helped me out with a lot of stuff without even askign for anything in return when I started and the second I was able I did the same for others in my guild.
Everyone talks about using teh system & resources int eh game to yoru advantage how about the people who you play with? Couldn't they be considered a resource?
If people in yoru guild want people they can have fun with who can pull thier own wieght.... & PVP effectively with they will help out. What do you do with people who you help who never help you or others in return? Stop helping them In genera thoughl you will find most people are happy to help others when people have helped them.
So jedi are not entitled to a good weapon, yet any other profession is. And, sorry if im wrong, but i do believe pre cukrayts were'nt exactly equivelent to lvl 256, in which the only thing that can kill them are mdef's and some guy with a t21 and root. I just hate the fact that most of the post combat upgrade are stuck with an average 350-400 base dps weapon, and other professions get to have their 600+ dps weapons. I have a 474 dps saber, 610 damage, not to many complaints, yet when it comes to trying to kill a bh with cm in which my damage doesnt mean anything compared to their heals, or a guy with a 700 dps saber im dead. Sorry but to me it just sounds like your saying, if you havnt played this game long enough to be a full template jedi before the combat upgrade, then you dont diserve a good weapon. Im sorry, but with the time it took to become jedi and the time thats went by grinding jedi, i do think i diserve a weapon better than a profession that takes a week to grind.(bh, rifleman, etc.)
