if they wanted to give us a unique color crystal what they should have done is, give us a clear crystal, that you can click on and bring up the color pallet, and get to change it to whatever is on there, once.

nope... this was up on the SWG main site first before Tiggs or anyone ever responded to it.. It was linked directly off of the Producers letter. But I'm not going to argue with you about it, because it's pointless. You're angry and looking to vent hope it makes you feel better

you're assuming things, and it just makes a ass out of you. out of all the people i've seen, i'm one of the calmest about this. as per my testing, and finding things out from the newbie level up on jedi in the testcenter. i've already said if i don't like the changes once they're live, i'm gone.

I've done my time waiting. If we don't get our say now, when this hits live it's over. Patience, try telling that to the devs that seem to think that a set date can not be pushed back reguardless of how much is broken. If it's expected for us to have patience why can't the devs?

btw, I admire you have the patience of a Jedi but after looking at everything I'm going to lose in the conversion starting from SEA's, WEapons, Pearls turning to crap, losing my Jedi Knight tag, and above all not getting the items that are given to you while you level........I've just about had it with wait and see. I'm going to fight for what I have earned for being in this game since Day 2. If you are looking for a reason, I'm trying my best to find a reason NOT to quit.

You know.. I would have left a long time ago, but what keeps me here is the people I play with and the fun we have together. I just don't really care about all the other stuff. We as a community , just need to pick our battles when it comes to stuff like this. The Vet rewards for instance.. not that big a deal, the fact that we don't get the level up items.. much more inmportant I would think. But SOE isn't going to listen to people who are behaving like children and throwing tantrums. However the way it's going , they just see people yelling about everything in general,and the stuff they really should fix, gets tuned out because they cant hear about it over all the other shouting.

We all know they dont read these forums, but since i cant make a conference call with 500 ppl to talk about current issues. Then this is the only place to do that.

"behaving like children throwing tantrums"? I see good debates by concerned members of the community about where this game is headed and what they should do. Get off your high horse and accept the fact that other people may have a different opinion than you. Yes i agree we dont need people waaahhh-ing about not being "uber" or whatever, but i think there are serious questions about whats ethical and acceptible being discussed thats actually healthy for us "children" to debate on.

Unique color crystal lol, now instead of bane's and sunriders we will see blue sabers (kenobi) and the elusive poop brown saber(B'nar), this game screams diversity. Why not just make all the color available.

I understand the points you guys make. I also know how these conversions tend to go. It's way too early yet to base your decison on the new crystals until they finish tweaking the conversion stats of all pearls,crystals, and sabers. That's all I'm trying to point out, I'm not saying we should just accept everything lying down and never say anything about it. I'm saying you need to wait untill we see the whole picture before you rush to judgement and start yelling.

Let me give you an example...

When I first started playing this game (beta 2 btw) ... There were tons and tons of posts about why armor in general was worthless, and not to bother buying it. Well, lol they were wrong The problem was, that the community didn't understand how armor worked in the big picture of the game. They just assumed, that because armor hit your secondary stats so hard in the begining that it would always be unwearable, and not of any value. They were wrong becasue they were making assumptions about how armor would be without realizing that eventually there would be good armorsmiths with good resorces that would make much better armor, and that eventually we would have Master Docs with the ability to buff our secondary stats so that we wouldn't notice the negative effect of the armor at all.

While the current situtation isn't identical to this, it is still way too early to make an intelligent decision about these new crystals until we have all the facts... this is the only point I'm trying to make.

please. don't go into that "I played for 2 yrs, blah blah blah....." It is a friggin game. This is not some alternate reality. It is not some life threatening catastrophe. It is a game. You paid to play the game, that does not make it yours, nor does it make SOE accountable to keep you happy and entertained. As long as you choose to play, then you pay. When you are not obligated to keep paying and no one owes you anything.

Ok, I'm going to respond to this.

Unfortunately Jedi_Xanthe world, life, peoples feelings and desires do not work that way and if you maintain such a cold and detatched view of all things in your life then I feel sorry for you.

Understand, some people are passionate about frogs. Some are passionate about carrier bags. My husband is mad about chess and if I tell him it's only a game, I'll be there for a week listening to a million reasons why chess is like life. He takes chess seriously. Some people take plastic bags seriously. Others take MMORPG's like SWG seriously.

By all means feel free to come in here and sermonise about how "it's only a game", just don't expect everyone to agree with you and do expect others to feel far more passionately about it than you do.

Also, SOE is paid by you, and by me and by all the subscribers to provide a service. Sure, we agree to a "click through" EULA, but should we feel that SOE has changed the game to such an extent that is unreasonable then we can argue that EULA is not applicable to such changes and the only way that argument can be supported or refuted is in a court of Civil Law, So again, things are far from black and white.

Vaain, maybe my detached view comes from life experience. I have learned that if I want to succeed I must choose my battles wisely. I also learned that the world is not fair, and I make my own path in life. I play this game, well, because it is Star Wars. I don't like EQ, or EQ ii, or WOW, or DND, not because of what the game is like, but because I dont like "fantasy". I like the sci fi genre, and above all, I like being able to live out a virtual character in the Star Wars universe.

I have played now over 10 hours on TC, and I like it. I love the new combat, the UI is clean, and makes my screen less cluttered. I am starting to adjust back to my WSAD habits, and the fresh new content is from heaven.

What is sad to me, is the number of people that 1) never gave it a chance, and 2) said "Yea, I will give it a chance" but never and already made their minds up even before they played the first time, and 3) Stick around to complain, groan, and moan because the game is different.

People all over the forum, with "I think I am going to play WoW? " It is so close to the same, it is almost identical. I feel much more like EQii than WoW, but you get my point. Those people were not into the game for Star Wars, but just to powergame in my opinion, and as far as I am concerned, good riddance to them. I have contacted many of my friends from other games, and showed some other friends the game, and they are going to try it too.

I feel this is great, bold, new step to once again make SWG stand out above the rest. Ok, so SWG is going to lose some people, but in the long run, we are going to gain a whole new kind of gamer, and see some new life in this still great game.
