Sorry but they still won't want or won't have the time or luxury to obtain a Jedi. Mere want won't give people a Jedi, that's not what the new system is for.

There will still be hard work and long hours that need to be put into SWG to obtain a Jedi. This isn't the let's hand everyone a Jedi char it's a revamp to make obtaining Jedi "more fun".

Okay, so the quests are for those who are already initiates or do the quests let us peons become force sensitive, followed by some way to become an initiate?

Carpathia,

I am not an SOE developer, but it seems to me (a player of SOE MMORPGs for about 6 years) since it is an SOE game, they will make it both harder and more interesting to move from non-FS to FS to initiate to padawan to knight to master.

This usually means quests at every level of Force Sensitive progression.I hope the current ''kill everything in sight'' and''kill every overt in sight'' methods of progression to and through the FRS system are mere stop-gap measures which will be replaced with joint Master-Padawan types of quests.

SOE did a good job with EQ expanding the content as time went on,so I expect the same here. Of course, it took SOE over 3 years to implement the high-end content of EQ, so don't expect great miracles the first year here. If we have the patience, they will reach a new balance quite different from what weexperience now with more enriching gameplay than we foresee now.

People that are currently grinding and working for it like me, on my 31st and 32nd professions, we either unlock or we get kicked in the ass with the new quest we don't know, but i know for one thing i'm not stopping my grind until i see my message.

And i assume by your regged date that you are just now new to the game right?

Re: comments

You didn't work for anything, fellow. You were sitting in front of your computer playing a game. I understand what you are getting at: that your time investment is important to you. But to pass off your choices in time management as the worthier path, than that of the person who only has 5-8 hours a week to play a computer game must be too lazy to merit a shot at a Jedi is almost patently ludicrous enough to keep from being insulting.

Re: comments

Not necessarily. I was lucky enough to get into the beginning of Beta 3 and have the time to test and enjoy it up and almost through the closing of it. I picked the game up againin June, feeling optimistic based on following the forums off and on since Beta 3,using thefree fourteen days, and on relogging into the forums after registering my copy of SWG at the end of that period. Strangely, it wasn' t until revisiting the forums after regging that my registration date changed. A good number of my friends came back to this game largely because of the free-fourteen day trial and the changes they've heard about on the forums or the finally impending JTL expansion. Their registration dates reflect very little of their experience with the game, so your assumption has fair potential for being false.

eh...the word DEVELOPMENT comes to mind

Development comes to mind?? I fail to see how that word is applicable to what appears (in one case) to be:
'here's a waypoint, please investigate for hostiles, and wipe them out if they're there'
'thank you for defeating the hostiles'
'I'm sorry, but you have to repeat this quest 99 more times before I will reward you'

That's under mindless repetition.

Link?

So is this a 100% YES that our current Jedi slot will be the character slot that gets the conversion? Or will it be our Main slot? Is it safe to level my Main slot to a full Regular Skills template without worrying about having to drop any skills for Jedi skills after Publish 9?

If you already have an existing Jedi character, your existing JEDI slot will remain the Jedi slot and your main character will remain as it is. So yes, you may continue to level your main any way you wish.

Will my Main slot be FS? Or will I have to redo all the quests if I want him to be Force Enhanced too?

Yes, you're main slot will be force sensitive, but it will be at a Padawan level with all of your original skills intact. You may choose to develop your Main Slot up through Jedi Knight. If you develop this main character up through Jedi Knight, you will have to sacrifice your regular professions. If you want to develop your second slot as your Jedi Knight, you may choose to do all of the Force Sensitive Quests over again thereby unlocking the slot. By completing the Force Sensitive quests you can make your second slot Force Sensitive also. You may even choose to develop your second slot as a full status Jedi knight. You may even choose to develop both of your slots as Jedi if you wish. There are many possible combinations, but because there is a quest based system in place now, your main slot must be the starting point of Jedi character development after Publish 10.

You need to read between the lines, but if your opened, the pre patch 9 people will be able to have 2 jedi. and the post patch 10 will be at padawan. all new jedi's post patch 10 are jedi mains.

its not written in stone, because sony can change at there will of course.

Understand JEDI EXP (exp based on normalized kills)

Master Elite Prof 3,891,000 exp / 4200 exp = 926 Rancors for Master Elite anything
Master LightSaber 15,280,000 exp / 1000 exp = 15280 Rancors for Master LS

Personally I think the most informative piece of information for us post-9-pre-10-ers is the actuall message that we obtain when we unlock:

"You begin to feel attuned to the force. Your Force Sensitive abilities will be unlocked after Publish 10"

Now note that this says "abilities" - under the new unlock method - this would place us at exactly the same point as a player who unlocks using the new route. i.e. Jedi Initiate - exactly the same as if a current jedi dropped all their jedi skills (I think)

If I see one more moron talk about how much *work* it is to grind professions... I hope the new quest system is only as hard as grinding 32 professions. Supposedly the new quest system will take at least 3 months. I could EASILY grind 32 professions in that time frame or less and I have a full time job.

I'm afraid I'm not that good, LOL Took me a freakin' year to master Tailor. (Though I did have holocrons to distract me for awhile, so mostly my fault. Did get a little progress though. 6 professions, 3 of which were elite.) But I definitely see where you're coming from. I hate it when people refer to the game as "work". I remember back in beta days where "work" was used to justify selling your character or items on ebay.

People, it'sa freakin' video game. At the same time it is a virtual world, meaning, like in the real world, you have to learn to make your own fun. If a video game is "work" to you, then go find something else to do and leave us kiddies playing "pretend" alone.

There's plenty of things to do and enjoy in-game. Why, only a week ago I got this weird idea to distribute kitchen masters hats to everybody who passed by me. I seem to see them a lot every time the guild goes PvPing now. LOL

Playing a game for fun, and slaving away for something you want is entirely different. And the "game" becomes just that work, when you have to put more effort and strength into a game to aquire something, more than you are focusing on real life then it becomes WORK. go look up the meaning of work.

Lets put this on the level of "fair", it doesn't take that much to grind all 32 professions, needless to say you could be doing something else (if there is something else to do that is), but what i'm getting \at is, if the new system does not equal or surpass the old system, its screwing the old players of the old system. Which would have been easily fixed, if they had made a good set, ideal for jedi insted of switching it half way through its phases.

Anyways your insults are as worthless as your post.

Edit: Oh ya, they don't call it grinding for nothing, and try to relax as you're getting worked up over small comments and words.

Double Edit: Oh and my post has nothing to do with you anyways.
